The Iwata era of Nintendo was my personal peak of the company. He was amazingly kind and had an astounding charisma.

It is not over as Nintendo Conference Part 2 is tommorrow and focuss on the handheld side of things and a 3DS XL supposed to be shown with built in analog and 4 triggers like circle pad pro.
The conference to me was good. Can't wait for the Wii U to come out.
I love the idea of same-time multiplayer with Mario and Luigi. Quite a few times we'd use a sort of stomp 'em battle to determine who gets first choice if there couldn't be a resolution to a problem. Sounds weird but it not only fixes the problem but can be fun in the process.
More Mario games please!
This game looks so beautiful. What a genius launch game. Definitely buying this, Game & Wario, and Pikmin 3 with a black Wii U.

10 years? Its been that way for over 25 years. The first Super Mario Bros came out in 1985 !!!
this is one of the bests comentarys that i have already read
its not a flying squirel, and it was around since super mario bros 3, which was back in the nes days... On a last note the "flying sqiurrel" is actually called the Super leaf, which partially turns mario into a tanooki. The tanooki power up is the full transformation. :D

I'm glad the baby Yoshi's from Super Mario World return. I liked them, you hold on to them and feed them till they're big enough to ride on! Plus, they have power ups this time! It's funny how Nintendo gave them the lazier looking eyes that only the baby Yoshis had in comparison to their adult forms.
Still looks fun to me.
Looks amazing, finally Nintendo is giving their full attention to a real Mario game, AND its a launch title, I hope Mario Bros stays around forever, it truly is the biggest and best franchise in gaming.
mario bros. celebrated 25. mario himself appeared in donkey kong in 1981 and the plot from that was used as the base for the mario games that followed -
1. beat big baddie
2. save the girl
3. ?
4. profit.

i just meant "mario" as a whole new kind of thing. I haven't played the one on the wii so im looking forward to this. I just hope the wiiu doesn't have a slow start like the ps3 did.

The diffrence between Mario games and games like COD is that the level design of the mario games is the main reason people continue to buy them. with COD they can add new wepons or new charcters but the exprience stays the same. I for one am really happy to see mario in HD for the first time, see that the story has changed a bit and how they're taking advantage of the Wii U gamepad.
They should have a level design thing. That would also be cool.

This game looks good. It looks better than the first two. They finally started bringing more Super Mario World elements into it.
Miyamoto said in an interview that Peach has always had a floating ability when she was an adventuring character, but he wanted all players to control the same, so rather than betray the expectation that Peach could float...
While I agree with that logic, it would have been nice if the other two players differed more from each other than they did in the Wii game. :)
The Wii U version is loosley based on Super Nintendo:Super Maro World while the 3DS version is loosley based on 8 bit NES:Super Mario Bros 3.

If I keep playing these games I won't have kids or a family. Cant wait until this comes out. Been years, so many years.. Almost since the snes did I play at 2d Mario at home. Getting the wii u just for this. My wii has finally been dusted of the shelf for Mario galaxy two. Getting back in to games
(2) your comment directed that multiple fps's are the same: Gears of war, halo, Cod ect. They're not. Really they vary about as much as sidescrollers, but I really do think sidescrollers need more challenge and plotline, which is something they usually lack greatly on. I love sidescrollers, and I want some that are more mature and difficult than having 1300 lives as is the case of the last nsmb

the console is called wii u because of the u it comes from the udraw and the screen too
there should be a vs mode where the guy with the big screen tries to kill all the other characters or a vs mode like in New Super Mario Bros where everyone had their own screen and tried to ether make the other person run out of lives or collect all the stars points

Well there is a new Mario Kart for each system. There was Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart for the Gamecube, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart DS, and Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS, so there will most likely be a Mario Kart U.

yeah the Wii U is backwards compatible to the Wii. You will also need wii motes for multiplayer for new super mario bros U.
LOL i think it would be awesome to be able to play as the Super Paper Mario team (Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser) in the next New Super Mario Bros. it would be seriously awesome to see Tanooki Bowser/Peach, Fire Peach, Ice Bowser...you could easily grab some enemy like a rogue Koopa that built up power or something like that.

What challenge was in Super Mario Bros. ? It took me weeks to beat New Super Mario Bros Wii, took me about an hour to beat Super Mario Bros. What experience is it to be able to beat a game in an hour? And what direction are you wanting them to go? Everyone loves challenges, Gaming is being dumbed down for people like you so you can beat it in a day and feel pro, i.e. WoW, CoD, and a bunch more, New super Mario bros u will not go easy on you which is the best experience in a game.
Yeah. They should make a DKC game for Wii U, where four players can play as either DK, Diddy, Dixie, or Kiddy.
