Instead of saying RIP Iwata we can just keep supporting Nintendo and playing their games. Pretty sure he would say "Do not worry everyone....I am happy to have been apart the gaming community. Please continue to play our games. Arigato. Sayonara."
Nintendo is one of the most oldest, classic companies in the world. Look how far they progressed, from playing cards, to 8bits, to 3d modelling and now 3D CONSOLES! Nintendo, i truly applaud your achievements throughout the years! :) And just when we thought 1 NSMB per 1-2 years, now we got 2 at once!
I actually agree to a certain extent. I definitely think it's time for a change, but it doesn't necessarily need a hub world like Mario 64 or Sunshine. Galaxy 2 succeeded because it did away with unnecessary fluff like Galaxy 1's hubworld.
They probably have. They know Mario is a hot item, and people always want a 3D Mario game. They are definitely making one, it's just a matter of time before they reveal it.
I want a game like mario sunshine because it was more ''realistic'' there were no floating blocks or bricks. there were houses to explore, puzzles to solve, and a junk load of challenging side levels that were found by EXPLORING the island. thats the problem with new mario games, everything is handed to you and you always know exactly where to go.
They do, actually, and his argument IS valid. Another important thing to keep in mind is that not everyone has a Wii U AND a 3DS. So now, owners of just one system can have the full Mario experience.
cont. 2 Mario and Sonic in a 2D platformer sounds cool on paper, but the fact is, they have two distinctly different styles. Sonic is about blasting through levels as fast as possible. Mario games are more about focusing on the platforming itself, at a more leisurely pace. If it's a co-op game, Sonic would constantly leave Mario in the dust. You could split it up Sonic Generations style, having a Mario level followed by a Sonic level, but then then you may as well just have two separate games.
Well, NSMB U and 2 looks like they both are what 3D Land was for the 3DS. Games that was released to give the system some games. Simplier Mario-games goes faster to produce and still is highly enjoyable, but we'll see if they look rushed when actually playing, NSMBU looks really nice so far at least, but it got a lot of re-used materials from NSMBW. I'm not sure what to think of NSMB2's coin-gameplay, but since I haven't tried the game yet, we'll see about that too
At LEAST 7-8 games in two years is the way it's usually been. The most being like 11 a year. There can't be a balance of Mario, if there was he wouldn't be a mascot, Mario has to be on the top at all times on every system.
I hope they've been working on the Wii U's 3D Mario ever since SMG 2 was completed, so that we can have one within one year after the Wii U's release, like we have with previous 3D Mario games.
For me it's Sonic, i can never stop playing Sonic, 1,2,3 and knuckles and completed about 50time each and still can't get bored, games these days you complete once and then just sell it. they don't seem to have the same effect as they use to but maybe we are just getting old and kids these days will look back at Cod and be like "i can't stop playing it" the same way we do with Mario and Sonic.
Um, maybe because they didn't even mention the game at all for 2012 and it was announced over two years ago. We havent heard anything about it, so we have to assume the game is cancelled.
Project P-100 = New 1st party IP. Pikmin 3 = First game in that franchise for 7 years Nintendoland = New IP, although it's mostly just to showcase the Wii u features and potential. (You see players across the world in the park.) But I do agree about Mario, they need to think of something new for him. They can't get rid of him, because the fans will rage like there's no tomorrow.
Um... this is not a year of surprises. With SO many games coming out, that should be enough to make most happy. The time for surprises will come another time.
How will this new system of collecting a billion coins work? If you get a billion coins will the game end? Will you get princess peach back? Will you get any extra characters? Will you unlock any extra things like past mario games?
There's a distinct difference between releasing a new game every year with just minor tweaks to the gameplay and new multiplayer maps, forgettable story aside, and releasing new games with the same protagonist but with NEW and exciting gameplay features and mechanics, alongside maps created by true geniuses in level design.
Nintendo is innovating in every way, more than any other 1st party developer. Just because they don't release new IP's very often doesn't mean that they don't innovate. There's new ways to play, fun and new environments to play them in and more to do in every game. You obviously aren't an actual Nintendo fan, because if you were, you would see the massive amount of innovation in all of the new games they release. I am happy to say that I will be buying the new, innovative Wii U this Christmas.
You know, this 1000k coin hunt might be easier than we think. If I remember correctly, New Super Mario Bros. Wii had 77 levels, so let's assume that this game has 100 levels. 1,000,000 divided by 100 would mean 10,000 coins per.....................We're screwed.
Unlike some, I'm more interested in this one than the one for the Wii U. It seems to stand out more, and it's looking to be a kind of gameplay that I *personally* enjoy more. The Wii U one... looks just like the one on the Wii, honestly. Except now with platforms that can be used by you to break the level and by others just to screw you over.
I love everything about Nintendo and Mario more then anything. I just hope they let that plumber take a break after this year. As truly excited as I am to play both of these games I would also like to see more of all my other favorite Nintendo characters as well...
Don't think that there'll be NO 3-D Mario game for Wii U. There obviously will be. The reason there isn't one SHOWN yet, is because there were 2 3-D Mario games for the Wii.
They should make a Mario RPG where Baby Mario and Luigi return while in the game you face off Wario and Waluigi with baby wario and baby waluigi together to make it similar to a Mario and Luigi Partners in Time 2 and Pokemon because Wario and Waluigi would appear at certain locations and it sounds like a cool game anyone agree
I wish we would have gotten AC3DS news. It was the main reason I watched Nintendos e3. Alot of people are disappointed that nothing was said. Nintendo, maybe you should make an announcement at least assuring us AC3DS is still being worked on or SOMETHING.. Thumbs up so they can see?
So damn true. The fact that all what they did was bring back Raccoon Mario and put more emphasis on coin collecting (an aspect that people never cared about, especially on 2D Mario) shows that Nintendo has officially run out of ideas.
Sataru Iwata may leave the world to a better place, but He will always be in our Hearts.
Video gaming will miss you Iwata san. Rest in peace.
Long Live, Mr. Iwata.
I love the Iwata ask videos. it tell a lot of him and is a good way of getting info :D
keep on the good work Iwata and everyone on Nintendo
Instead of saying RIP Iwata we can just keep supporting Nintendo and playing their games. Pretty sure he would say "Do not worry everyone....I am happy to have been apart the gaming community. Please continue to play our games. Arigato. Sayonara."
He's right, it would make Iwata happy if we keep playing games and remember him as if he were still
But that's what I love about Mario. Just the same things all over again. I love that.
5:55 I love how they keep cutting each other off
Notice Luigi still has the kitsune look while using the Raccoon Leaf. :)

This really makes perfect sense as to how NSMB2 Differ's from its Wii U counterpart and isnt just a simple rehash for cash, im really excited
Rip. I wish this man was still here
Who misses the time when they used to write this out?
Iwata-san was the best president of Nintendo ever.
Uh, there were actually a lot of floating bricks and blocks, did you even play the levels with Yoshi in them?
Viz Media is making an Iwata book. It's going to be just as touching as the very life of Iwata-sensei. R.I.P. :
I'm happy about the changes that have been made to make this title stand out a bit more - Really looking forward to it!
They probably have. They know Mario is a hot item, and people always want a 3D Mario game. They are definitely making one, it's just a matter of time before they reveal it.
So is this game based on the Subcon adventures of the United States version of SMB2, or the Lost Levels (Japanese SMB2)?
I want a game like mario sunshine because it was more ''realistic'' there were no floating blocks or bricks. there were houses to explore, puzzles to solve, and a junk load of challenging side levels that were found by EXPLORING the island. thats the problem with new mario games, everything is handed to you and you always know exactly where to go.
I was surprised and delighted the first time I witnessed the 'coin craziness' elements in this title. It looks great, and I can't wait to play it.
Did you come up with that or is it possible because that would be awesome as heck
will the koopalings be in ANY of these to games?
They do, actually, and his argument IS valid. Another important thing to keep in mind is that not everyone has a Wii U AND a 3DS. So now, owners of just one system can have the full Mario experience.

so it means that the multiplayer is going to be just the camera in mario but not in luigi??

They're actually just made by different teams within the same studio, Nintendo EAD.
But the challenge mode won't let you have any. I like the sound of that.
I hope they've been working on the Wii U's 3D Mario ever since SMG 2 was completed, so that we can have one within one year after the Wii U's release, like we have with previous 3D Mario games.
Agreed, I'm really enjoying these vids.
With the concept of getting a million coins, Wario should make an appearence.
They announced on there twitter that Fire Emblem 3DS is coming to US on there twitter
I really wish that it still has vs mode, and that if it does, that vs mode takes less time to load
This game has a lot of new material. But what happened to saving Princess Peach?
That's called grinding to unlock content.
WAIT is the coin mode optional or part of the game
Um, maybe because they didn't even mention the game at all for 2012 and it was announced over two years ago. We havent heard anything about it, so we have to assume the game is cancelled.
i know super mario bors 2 is going to be a kick ass game
Or they can make both? Nintendo will obviously make a 3D Mario game later on.
Don't feed the troll, but I'd like to say that this coin mania is probably the best thing to happen to Mario yet.
probably still in development, if they are going to release one.
Project P-100 = New 1st party IP.
Pikmin 3 = First game in that franchise for 7 years
Nintendoland = New IP, although it's mostly just to showcase the Wii u features and potential. (You see players across the world in the park.)

I hope the competitive mode from the original NSMB still remains though.
At least if it doesn't I can still play single pak NSMB with no disadvantage.
Do both people have to have the game to play together?
So to really drive home the point that Luigi's the sidekick in the Mario series, now whenever Luigi gets the Super Leaf, he looks like Tails. =P
NSMBU + Miiverse + Level Editor + Online Multiplayer = Must-buy
Um... this is not a year of surprises. With SO many games coming out, that should be enough to make most happy. The time for surprises will come another time.
How will this new system of collecting a billion coins work? If you get a billion coins will the game end? Will you get princess peach back? Will you get any extra characters? Will you unlock any extra things like past mario games?
racoons, tanookis, and flying squirrels. peta's gonna have a field day.
Some gameplay mechanics are different and the main powerups are different.
Super Smash Bros sure will be awesome! Can't wait to play this....AND in HD.
Now I want it TWICE as more!
There's a distinct difference between releasing a new game every year with just minor tweaks to the gameplay and new multiplayer maps, forgettable story aside, and releasing new games with the same protagonist but with NEW and exciting gameplay features and mechanics, alongside maps created by true geniuses in level design.
do you have to have the same game in co-op
the dubber sounds really nervous

2:20 I'm worried that you will gain extra life for every 100 coins
is there one of these for sticker star
Just finished NSMB2 in one day
Jelly?
What “Jelly “?
This game looks so much better than New Super Mario Bros. on the DS! I can't believe people say that its almost the same graphics!
So saving Princesses really pay, huh?...
We'll need a villainous turtle army and a princess.
Then why does the orginal hav 40,000,000 (1985) sales unlike cod which has 150.000 sales (2012)
The question is what will happen when we get a million coins? I guess we will have to find out in August
why Super Mario RPG 2?
i just want to know what will the coins do
Unlike some, I'm more interested in this one than the one for the Wii U. It seems to stand out more, and it's looking to be a kind of gameplay that I *personally* enjoy more.
The Wii U one... looks just like the one on the Wii, honestly. Except now with platforms that can be used by you to break the level and by others just to screw you over.
Is it just me or is the person voicing the guy in the white shirt sound very similar to chuggaaconroy?
I love everything about Nintendo and Mario more then anything. I just hope they let that plumber take a break after this year. As truly excited as I am to play both of these games I would also like to see more of all my other favorite Nintendo characters as well...
No,it will be on the player in the lead.
So many coins, why has Wario not yet discovered this part of the mushroom kingdom?
you know mario is one of the games that made video games......right?
Don't think that there'll be NO 3-D Mario game for Wii U. There obviously will be.

I'm pretty sure they either made it 10 thousand for a 1 up, or u will have to collect them urself
how long will it take to collect 1mil coins?
3 years later: new super mario bros 3 for 3DS o_O
Its the major point of the point of the game, plus the game will cater to the core.
i think this is good so we can learn more about the games and see if we want it
A MILLION COINS? Finally I actually have an incentive to gather coins AND I CAN'T WAIT!
i think you should do more mario games that u could play multiplayer in the courses
can't wait, also can't wait for super mario sunshine 2. Thanks nintendo. WEEEE
At least theyre concerned about giving new experiences in games that may look/play the same etc. not like other companies
So damn true. The fact that all what they did was bring back Raccoon Mario and put more emphasis on coin collecting (an aspect that people never cared about, especially on 2D Mario) shows that Nintendo has officially run out of ideas.
Iwata looks REALLY creepy if you pause at 1:17
DAMN YOU!
You must have known I'm addicted to speed runs and collecting things! ARRGH. There goes all of my free time.
I'm sure they're thinking about that, but Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 kinda took that genre
I swear to god I've probably collected over a million coins by now in the original Super Mario Bros 3. I played the everloving hell out of that game.
Am I the only one who thinks this looks good and possibly better than Mario Bros U?
Mario: Tons of coins! Tons of Lives! I'm rich!
What ever happened to Iwata
pizza killer He passed
I know but I mean soon enough. I'd hate if it was late if it was late in the Wii U's life.
This concept would be more appropriate for a Wario game no? Well I'm still looking forward to it anyways!
Since it's a 3ds game I would say...maybe 60-70 levels.
Okay then if they did make my idea of a new game it would have to be Alphadream
