Trena,I bet your Dad is thinking,Wow all these vids! She is giving away all of my hard earned expertise! To total strangers, that I innocently passed on to her.😀😀. Great Vid as always. Thanks for sharing your, and your “Dads” knowledge. 😀 Lovely piece of furniture, great vid.
AMAZING JOB, TRENA. VERY GUTSY TO CUT OUT A CIGARETTE BURN, ESPECIALLY ON ANOTHER PERSON'S PIECE OF FURNITURE. END RESULT OF THAT SIDEBOARD IS INCREDIBLE!
Oxalic acid is magic. 20 years ago we did not realize for 6 months that our garage had a leaking roof, and this water sat on 100 year old oak dresser. It was ruined. I spread a solution of oxalic acid on pretty much %100 of the surface and now it's the crown jewel of our bedroom. Love you helpful videos
I have a handmade oak dining table with several burn marks in it. Your video gave me the confidence to refinish it. I've watched all your videos but haven't left a comment until now. I know a move back with your parents after being on your own is a Giant Transition! Remember Patience is a virtue! You and your family are in my prayers. You all need all the support you can get. I can't say enough about your videos, they are Fantastic! I hope you will continue to bring your Fans the professional videos we've grown love. Best Wishes to you and yours!
Beautiful treatment Trena. Bringing that lady back from the watery damage she used to be. Gorgeous. Hope you have much happiness and success back home. 💖
Another beautiful piece restored and the owner should be delighted with your work. I love watching you take a tired piece of furniture and restore it to a beautiful piece. You are amazing at what you do.
Very well done. My grandmother had a buffet that was designed like this one. Over the years, she painted an awful dark green and, cut the long legs off to shorten the buffet. The legs could have been refinished and had a glass top put on it to make a good size coffee table. Grandmother was all for doing that, but when she went out to where it had been stored, she found that grampa had hauled it off to burn. Boy was she mad@ Lol. She badly wanted those legs to be made into a coffee table as she didn't have one. Love that this beautiful piece was given a new life.
These clients are very lucky to have you restore these pieces cuz anyone can slap some goo on top of a table etc but it's a keen eye, experience & steady skill that brings the beauty back out of these beasts
I learn something new from each video. I have a heirloom vanity from my wife’s grandmother. It’s over 100 to 120 years old according to family. It is in desperate need of refinishing and repair. As a woodworker, the repairing is easy but the refinishing is how I found your channel. I hope to take it on this summer, thanks for posting and sharing your craft.
I often think about all these furniture that ends up as landfill. I have seen furniture in better shape that this being tossed out. The beauty that is coming back to life with some repair, lacker and love is incredible. I take that piece of furniture in to my home over all modern furniture there is. Good job as always, it looks awesome!
So great to see this kind of furniture being restored. I see this kind of furniture in triftstores for almost nothing overhere.. great big full wooden cabinets. But yeah.. wooden style is totally out of fashion in the Netherlands.. or they paint everything white..
Trena, what a lovely result. I was interested in watching you use the spline for the crack. I have an oak table that will need a similar treatment. Walnut is my favorite wood and I enjoyed watching the sideboard come to life. Thanks as always for sharing.
I’m always learning something new from your content. The final result is undoubtedly stunning, but it’s the technique, meticulous detail and different products that you use to repair these pieces that keeps bringing me back. Keep up the great work. We appreciate it in our household.
As usual it is marvelous work, making a another piece look better than the day it rolled out of a factory. Thank you for sharing your work, your family, and your friends!
The owner will be jumping for joy at the final outcome. It turned out to be a beautiful sideboard. Your video was well done. Your explanations are so spot on.
Reminds me so much of the 1940 Oak buffet I inherited from my mother-in-law that had been “antiqued” in the 1960s. I didn’t have water marks to deal with but, there were some cigarette burns. It was so rewarding to refinish it and bring it back to it’s true beauty.
You are so fortunate that you get to work with your dad. Relish every day you can. I love that style of buffet and you made it look fabulous. Another awesome video thank you for sharing.👍
This is another beautiful piece. I love how you use these projects to educate others as well. Your work is phenomenal. I know you’ve had projects that just don’t go well, but you don’t give up and I can admire that. gorgeous piece.
Trena, your finishing and toning is just stellar - I've never seen better. Your closeup reveals just make me want to run my hands over the exquisite surfaces you have restored. Thank you for sharing your skill with us.
It's all in the finish isn't it? I've been watching you do magic on something that may have been tossed in the bin but you never disappoint. I say "what is she going to do about that? oh and that too?" But to me you are a master, your veneer matching is the best on the web. I really enjoy when you show details on how you color match and get things evened out like you have done in the past. Thank you for the inspiration.
I too absolutely look forward to your videos. They're an educational meditation - i could get lost- beautiful wood restored to its grandest moment. Thank you! Merry Christmas to you and yours (totally including the quadrapeds!!!)
Cheap Cheat: Disposable Tongue Depressors. I use them to scrape, I use them to make sanding sticks with, I use them to patch, and I use them to make Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches. Oh, also come in clinch when you bust your finger, two can be used to splint a finger or two.
Dear Trena, so good to watch you work! I have been away from the Internet for quite some time, so I do not know if you already posted something, but I would love to walk around your hometown with you. Such gorgeous piece! Hugs from Sao Paulo, Brazil.🌹

Really pretty sideboard and a great job bringing it back to life. Nice to see Depression era stuff restored correctly.

That walnut was quite beautiful, I didn't expect it to be so red.
It’s either just the sapwood but more likely alder maybe. I just wasn’t sure on this one
