    I have this chair and I feel so confused on what the right settings should be. I'll change something and think its comfortable and then 15 minutes later I can tell it's not right. It's such a strange thing. The headrest is also a pain, you cant adjust it from being seated (as seen in the video) and often times it feels like its pushing my head forward too much. It's my first herman miller chair and it feels a bit underwhelming.

      It gets rated bad by a lot of professional ergo reviewers to be honest. Loved the look of it when it first came out and was quickly disappointment by how bad it gets rated.

      Hi, I bought the chair a few weeks ago and I noticed that the seat is not fixed if I swing frontally, I hear a click if I lean forward. Does it happen to you too?

    For the best gaming chair it still needs locking wheels/casters (preferably a one-hand design for all wheels to lock). It also needs a swivel stop. Arms should also drop to the seat or stow away. Maybe the next version...

    Do you think this can be used as an daytime office chair or would this be for less sitting time due to the forward lean?

      I was worried about that also. Mine just arrived today and I don’t even notice that and forgot about it until you just reminded me. It’s super comfortable to me. I’m 6ft and 178lbs if that helps.

    Hello, Crandall. I want to return my Vantum chair, but do you know how to remove the cylinder without having to use the expensive ($70) Lift off Tool that is in the HM Vantum Chair disassembly instruction? I don't want to use a method where I end up damaging the cylinder and then HM holds me responsible for it. Thanks for the help

    • @CrandallOfficeFurniture
      @CrandallOfficeFurniture  Рік тому +3

      Hi Ruben - we typically recommend using a pipe wrench to remove the gas cylinder from an office chair, as we have found this the best method to remove the cylinder. We definitely want to know that this method can leave marks on the cylinder, and we are unsure if that would affect the return-ability or any sort of restocking fees with Herman Miller, so you should definitely reach out to them directly to confirm whether they approve this method of cylinder removal or not.
      On a side note, do you mind sharing with us (and the community) why you are planning on returning the chair? We are in the middle of doing a more in-depth review on this chair, and would love that kind of feedback!

      @@CrandallOfficeFurniture Hello, Crandall, thanks for replying to me. I find the Vantum very uncomfortable, specifically the backrest. Above all I did not like the arms of the chair, although the cushions are vey soft, stylish and adjustable, however, the width and depth adjustment are very minimal to comfortably rest your arms on them.

    I presume that you are going to have another Vantum video where you note the likes and dislikes, hits and misses, and whether you really think it is worth $995 (even compared to Herman Miller's other high pricing) or whether you think the price should be more like $600 or $700?
    Just from this video, those 3D armpads (4D armrest would have rotational swivel) look almost as firm and hard as a solid plank of plastic, the kind of super-cheap arm pads that you find on a $70 office chair? And the loose forward/back and left/right sliding of the arm pads looks like the arm pads will frequently be accidentally bumped/moved out of your preferred arm pad position throughout the day and night?
    And do you even feel the two upper thoracic "support" pads at all when you are sitting upright? The thoracic pads do not look like they are even touching your upper back when you are sitting upright. I imagine that you only feel those two thoracic pads when you lean way back?

    • @CrandallOfficeFurniture
      @CrandallOfficeFurniture  Рік тому +3

      Yes we are actively testing the chair now and will be releasing some initial impressions soon, followed by a full review not long after once we've really had some good use time in the chair 😊
      To answer your other questions - the arm pads are made of a polyurethane material, the same we see on most high end chairs, though they are a bit thinner than most - they remind me more of the Steelcase Series 1 arm pads than anything else with my limited testing so far (though a bit bigger than those arm pads). The slide has some resistance, but can definitely move around pretty easily, similar to something like the V2 Leap. I am definitely curious to see if that resistance loosens over time or not.
      Regarding the thoracic support, it's not over the top but you can feel it. I honestly didn't even really feel it much until I removed and replaced it. I feel like when it's in, it gives a normal level of support similar to a padded back chair, and removing it leaves something lacking in the upper back, relying only on the mesh.
      Hope those quick answers help, we'll definitely be covering all of this and more in future videos 😊

    • @CrandallOfficeFurniture
      @CrandallOfficeFurniture  Рік тому

      Still reviewing before I give a definitive worth it or not. It's definitely more of an Ergonomic chair than a racing style gaming chair that most are used to in that category. The headrest is removable (though not easily), so you can use it with or without, but you won't be hot-swapping it day to day.
