    Watching these videos about Japanese people holding foreign people in such high regard... I wonder how crushed their expectations would get if they met an average foreigner who's not tall, attractive or interesting by Western standards.

    I've been to Japan twice and love it. Decent manners, being very respectful. knowing a few Japanese phrases and wearing a smile will get you far. You'll be amazed at how many conversations you'll randomly strike up with people.

      I loved how clean the streets were when I went. I saw about only a few pieces of litter, and when it's there, you really notice it lol. Sticks out like a sore thumb.
      I was too nervous to speak much though. My ability to speak betrays how much I actually know. Next time, I'll try harder. All I said were thank you's and greetings.
      Speaking in English is hard enough XD

    • @DSpaceCF
      @DSpaceCF 5 років тому +13

      Those conversations usually only arise when you're going out for a drink though. You could actually be Beckham and noone on the street would start a conversation with you, unless its some middle school girls from the countryside who want a picture with a foreigner. Happened to me quite regularly.

The best thing to learn Japanese would be to take intensive Japanese classes in Japan so you are immersed in the language, you can learn any language like that in a much shorter time, to a level that would take years if you stay at home studying.

    Most of those are probably just fantasies just as us men have a certain way we want a woman to look. But once two people get to know each other and like the other, they don't care about how you look. It's cliche but it's true. All of us have their fantasies but in reality we just want someone who loves us and who we can love. Being hot is just like a dessert. It's nice but not necessary.

    Well, I did get a single 「かっこいい!」from some random girl while walking in Kyoto wearing my leather jacket, but that's the only instance of me feeling popular.

Faking anything to please anyone will never work.
