No moissanite stones are not suppose to look cloudy, they are actually look the opposite. I had one bought from AliExpress and I think the one that was making my ring didn't clean it or something it looks very cloudy when I received it. I tried to clean it my self several times with soapy water and also toothpaste but it still doesn't have a clear look. I sent it to the jewelry store and have them added the sizing beads and had it professional cleaning/steam clean it. When I got it back from the store, the stone just look so shiny and different like it wasn't the same stone. Now I am very happy with my sparkly stone. Maybe your moissanite ring just need a steam clean/professional cleaning for a sparkly look.

Thank you for posting this. This person is saying that their ring is like this due to moissanite depth with is incorrect. It's possible that, in your case, the stone isn't even polished. Moissanite should always be sparkly and if it is real moissanite it is by nature twice as brilliant as a diamond.
I'm glad you got your ring fixed.

I’ve never seen a cloudy moissanite. What moissanite do you have? That’s unfortunate. Do you only order from Ali express?

I now realized that the “cloudiness” that I’m seeing is just the light being refracted differently than it is by a diamond. It’s not as “deep” when you look at it, as opposed to a diamond. Diamonds seem to have the depth while moissanites don’t. It’s just different stones and my hunt for a moissanite that looks like a diamond stopped because there is no such thing lol

@@RingsAndCoffee Oh my goodness no. No nonono. This is horrendous misinformation. The problem you're dealing with is one of three things: shit quality, an uncleaned stone, or a fake stone. All three could be true because you're ordering from aliexpress which is the kind of site where results vary and the Chinese vendors often don't have the quality of product that the buyer wants.
Moissanite and diamond are so similar which is why they look similar. There are two difference between them. Diamonds are harder and diamonds have single refraction while moissanite has double refraction. That gives moissanite even more sparkly fire than diamond but it reflects light in a multicolored way- while a diamond will reflect clear- (but not to the extent of cubic zirconia which is even more rainbow) so they often can't be told apart by an untrained eye.
Now here is why they look so similar. Diamonds are made of pure carbon. They can be natural or lab made but they will always have one ingredient and a hardness level of 10. Moissanite is only going to be lab made because in nature it only comes from meteorites in tiny amounts. People sometimes refer to it as space diamond because of its original source and since moissanite is made of almost the same thing as diamond but with a little addition. Rather than pure carbon, moissanite is made from silicon carbide and has a hardness of 9.25, making it the closest to a diamond of any gemstone in appearance and hardness.
Lastly, good quality moissanite can be expensive but it is still cheaper than quality lab grown diamonds and much cheaper than a perfect natural diamond.
Brilliant earth has a great section on diamonds vs moissanite if you google that term but also has an awesome selection of the stones where you can see what they look like. I don't work for them nor am I sponsored but I am just someone who studies gemology and a huge moissanite fan so it is very sad to see someone so misinformed about these beautiful stones. If you don't want to pay diamond price but you want a stone that looks and functions almost identical to a diamond, moissanite is so similar and the best option.
There is no difference in depth between the two stones, only difference in refraction but since moissanite is double refractive and twice as brilliant as a diamond if anything it should be MORE SPARKLY. Any difference in depth is to do with the cut but that does not seem to be the problem here. You just didn't get what you purchased or there is something very wrong with the stone itself. Moissanite is not cloudy, ever, but will always be clear like a diamond.
The best outcome is that it is improperly polished, or wasn't polished in which case you can send it to a jeweler who will polish it. Another commenter says they did that. But if the jeweler says it can't be polished then its fake and I have no idea what you were sold. The link below will show you what moissanite actually looks like. Aliexpress is the last place I would recommend ordering moissanite from.

No I don't think this are better than moissanite. I just posted a video a bit ago about the differences between cz, moissanite and lab diamond. Probably worth a watch!

Since your description is totally subjective, meaning "it's just your opinion" with no physical testing or real expertise in gemstone evaluation it is meaningless.
