First time i saw this video i was waiting anxiously and expecting at least 140 to 150 mph from an F 3 professional rider and on the track. I own a 2008 can am spyder some experience and on the highway and did 120 mph , great stability, like my spyder!
THIS Spyder has the nice advantage of a 6th gear. Wish my RS had one. I followed a BMW SUV on a local interstate the other day. We went for several miles in the left lane at a steady 108 mph. Everything felt very nice and under control, except the poor thing is screaming at about 8,000 rpm. Don't think an actual redline is marked on the tachometer, but my mental redline was right there. Read some other test where someone thought it was horsepower limited to 112, but I don't think so. A $16K Spyder should at least have a 6th gear.
Not to take anything away from Jeffrey... But I've gone faster around this track on my Spyder...Not so sure on the claim at the end of this video either...? I've been on this track riding Spyder since at least 2014... Sorry to be the Spoiler
I have a 2014 Spyder RT-S 1330 cc it has a "cat" bypass and a F3 muffler K&N Air filter an ECU up grade after market sway bar And I have had it up to 195 KPH or 121.167 MPH My Can Am has also a weight disadvantage of 162 lbs or 73.482 Kg's as its dry weight is around 1012 lbs compered to the light 850 lbs of the F3 .... So what's the BIG deal this video ???
Answering, “What’s the BIG deal?”, I would like to tell you that 14-degree banking in turns 1-2; 3-4 are upgrading the level of challenge. Stock cars are made with aero package that gives them better stability on the track. What we wanted to demonstrate to people here is the strength of Can-Am Spyder stability system. The brand has spoken a many times, saying Can-Am Spyder is not a motorcycle. The 3-wheeled configuration requires an advanced stability system which includes Antilock Braking System and Electronic Brake Distribution, and these features require all 3 wheels to be linked together. This system is closer to a car’s than a motorcycle’s. Now back to our video, Jeffrey gives his impressions of the Spyder F3 and confirm how well the system was able to keep him on the track on the back straightway when the wind was pushing really hard.
Spyders are criusers. you'd be hard pressed to find a criuser that can maintain 122mph. the stability system of the Spyders should given riders added peace of mind while putting thousands of real world miles on there CanAms
He is leaning like a bike, but has car race suit...... And I also know for a FACT that if they let a zx10r on that same track not only would it not be "too dangerous" but it would destroy that time. Capped out at 120 and THAT is the sports model? Lmfao
What crap....you outlaw motorcycles on the track claiming it is too dangerous and then simply declare the spyder can do what motorcycles can not....yeah cause they wont LET THEM....otherwise DUHH that record would not last a day
First mistake getting on there with a fire suit and Driver gloves and Driver shoes second mistake why have a NASCAR driver instead of a motorcycle racer try to break the record
@PowerOf One Your sitting position is like a motorcycle. The helmet indicates a motorcycle. And the steering bar with the handles is like a motorcycle. The only thing that points to a car are the two frontwheels. That is why, at least here in Germany, you can drive them with a motorcycle driving licence. You don't need to make a car driving licence.
I have done 250,000 miles on two-wheeled motorcycles. Three days ago I added an F3-S to my garage. It is fantastic fun. Some Dude, you are the one who is sad.
Skip to 1:53 to avoid all the warnings and preamble.

So you're riding it in a car race suit not leathers. Real smart...Oh never mind he's a crashcar driver
I think I can run that fast. This definitely made the spider looks slow.

of course some guy that doesnt even ride would say that
kyle stewart Kawasaki Ninja H2 SE is a supercharged sports CRUISER. That can push 160 easily.
A corrola can go that fast
Was für ein Quatsch, das lief meine Standart, ohne so ein Aufwand
Anticlimatic.
Entertaining video but Spyders aren't built for speed.
