Jimmy Buffett is my all time favorite. My Dad played it all the time as I grew up and now it’s a part of me. I will definitely pass it on to my future generations
What a shock and sadness to hear Jimmy Buffet passed away. Thank you for all your wonderful music. You will be missed. Well done Jimmy. Keep on playing up there....
@@S-K-log-W It's not all aboutmoney. People who love you, fans, and his talent. Not to mention memories of millions of people. Cruises and tropical vacation destinations will be playing his music for many years to come. Money isn't everything!!!🎹📻💖
@@S-K-log-W That's a shitty thing to say my dude. The family lost their father, husband, etc. The world lost a great great man. The money he was worth is nothing in relation to what he meant to his family, friends and fans. I'm sure his family could have all the money in the world and still wish he was back so they could give him one more hug.
I come from a family of beach and boat people so we grew up listening to Buffett and some of my best memories include his songs- like my normally reserved Mom singing along to “Jolly Mon” after a few boat drinks. One of my favorites is driving with my nephew when he was like two or three listening to “Fins” and looking back in the rear view mirror to see him singing along to the chorus and doing “fins to left, fins to the right” in his booster seat. He’s well over 6 ft. tall now and graduating high school in a couple of weeks, but sometimes when I look at him I still see that cute little toddler singing his heart out doing “fins.” Thank You Jimmy, for the music and the memories.
Jimmy Buffett was a kind, caring and thoughtful man towards all of Earth's creatures. His "escapism" music allowed global generations to enjoy his life directly thru his music. I'll miss him, his music, his unwritten books and his band more so than any other entertainer past or future.
Why does anyone wonder why this fun loving guy, who made his best music, approaching 50 years' ago, is still soooh popular? He loves fun, life and giving his fans what they want. A truly classic performer.
All the parts lead to the reason for his ongoing popularity, mainly in the great ParrotHead large-scale fun events, he's 75 and many would have difficulty doing 2 hour concerts + encores, even if they are more confined to American summers and Mike Utley, Mac & the CRB members are no longer 21.
I saw Jimmy perform at Ontario Place along the Toronto Waterfront. It was a perfect, sunny, warm, Ontario evening. No better time for a Jimmy Buffett concert. It was awesome. It exceeded my expectations. Two words comes to mind, HAPPY & FUN.
And another part of my youth is gone. But he left a legacy. All of us from the 70s remember how popular he became. He played music that made you feel good. And nothing like a song of his on a summervday or a tropical vacation. Thanks for the happy memories Jimmy!! You made millions smile and created the parrot head phenomenon. 💖☮️🎹🎸🎼
My son spent 4 years of his life playing music in the Jimmy Buffet Rehearsal Room at Dreyfoos (High) School of the Arts in West Palm Beach. Thank you, Jimmy, for donating that awesome room.
Love Jimmy Buffet, he is so down to earth and just a cool cat! I am hip to his vibe! Seriously, what a legend!!! I think i was 6 or 7 sneaking downstairs, with the TV set really low, with my ear to the speaker turning and watching, turning and watching. I do believe I watched the orginal show with Jimmy Buffet, (was addicted to Carson at that age) The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and I do believe I saw that performance!!! #ParrotHead🦜
Impossible to find someone who parlayed just being himself into creating so much happiness and a state of mind that we sorely need these days! Barrel roll into the sun, Jimmy and thank you!
Love Jimmy Buffett!! We could not wait for your concert to reschedule. We saw you last year in Noblesville In in July 2021! We have been to over 25 concerts! Yea you kids are Parrotheads! My husband dance at our daughters wedding to little miss magic in June 2021!
Wow, today the Great Jimmy Buffett Went On To The Next Realm... I am almost 60, been crooning to Jimmy, for decades. Sing With The Sentinels Jimmy... See You Again! Love To All from The Great Pacific NW.
What a great interview, reminded me of the classic Letterman/Carson format where the guest just takes right over and the audience just sits back and lets them speak
Lulu's in Gulf Shores is still one of my fav bars near home, after living all over the place. It's owned by Lucy Buffett (Jimmy's sister), and it always has awesome music and atmosphere.
Who plays Jimmy Buffet music at their fathers funeral .. WE DID! Jimmy Buffet was a BIG part of our lives because of my father. I think my grandparents almost passed out at the funeral. It’s just who we are. I have every single CD, I’ve seen him too many times to count, my mother even made JB and my Dad matching shirts! She mailed it off to JB. I will miss seeing him in person, but he will always be in my heart and soul. The legend never dies. RIP JB. Signed Parrotheads for life, Cathy Ps. I travel to NY 2x year and we stay at Margaritaville Times Square ….. it will never be quit the same 💔
I just saw that clip of Jimmy Buffet on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, within the last week. And I was wondering what happened with his performance of Margaritaville. I saw that he was definitely off. I chalked it up to nerves. It’s been a little over a year now since we lost Jimmy Buffett and it still hurts. I’m just so grateful for all the recordings of his performances that are available on UA-cam.
One of the most amazing opportunities I had was to sing a few songs with Jimmy a few years ago...Ok, so there were 18,000 other people singing, but it felt like I was singing with Jimmy. He's gone, but I'm still singing...thank you Jimmy!
So excited to be seeing him at Bethel Woods this summer! Bucket list bringing our kids to see him as a family. Best memory is having our son at 2 1/2 years old belt out “Why don’t we get drunk and screw” in a restaurant. 😂😂. 32 years later he can now sing along with jimmy in concert.
Him and Florence singing together… wow, what a treasure ❤️ I have been a fan of her’s for over a decade and heard his song Margaritaville as a child living in Louisiana. Both of them are LEGENDS. 🔥
I tend to forget at times he's Mississippi born so he has the accent. I don't always hear it, but I hear it now. I don't watch TV now-excuse me Jimmy-so I didn't watch this show. But, Jimmy was something else. Oh my heart hurts today. But, Jimmy took his last nap couple days ago, and I hope I'll be honored to meet him someday.
Belly Up is an Solana Beach/SD institution. It's been around since before I was old enough to get in about 50 years. You have to be a legend or a very special performer to play there. Jimmy was both. Amazing guy, great performer, but his true magic was how much he loved it, the pure joy and ecstasy that he transmitted and transferred to his audience that will never be equalled. Love you JB 💖
Growing up in South Florida in the 1960's his music was our Floriday's . His music brings joy, smiles and laughs and relaxation and when you think Florida was bad is bad, he gave you the sunny side up view . Thanks Jimmy .
Rest in peace Jimmy. I know you are with the your grandfather with one hand on Starboard rail. Thank you for being the soundtrack of my life! Fins up 4 ever!
I met Jimmy several years ago when he was landing his plane near Annapolis, Maryland to entertain the Naval Academy graduating class. When he got out of the plane he shook my hand and started talking to me like he had known me for years. He died 3 days ago. He was an incredibly nice guy.
He had many songs. Many that I feel in my heart. Don't be so limited. The more I see your post here the more I think you don't know what you are talking about. You obviously have never sailed the open waters, OR really listened to his music.
He had other great songs, yes, but one song built a multi- Billion Dollar empire. Absolutely incredible ! Never happen before and will never happen again !@@lorenostema947
That was probably his biggest hit, but he was not a one hit wonder by any means. Saw him in NYC back in the 80's, I was expecting a guy with a acoustic guitar and the coral reefers, who was there, but played electric guitar all night, more of a rock show, it was in the cheeseburger in paradise days. Good show anyway
They say everything happens in 3's.......Buffett, Keith, and Carmen Probably saw Buffet in concert 6 or 7 times, at Blossom Music Center, Cuyahoga Falls Ohio, one of the few artists I spent money on to see live. The I saw Toby Keith LIVE as well at Blossom, and was knocked out by the first record I ever heard him do, "Wanna Talk About Me" and was just hooked on his music from then on. But Eric Carmen , wow I grew up in his neck of the woods was hooked on his songs....from when I was in high school, he played all the local Hullabaloos in and around the burbs of Cleveland, Ohio, and we here in the Cleveland area, were very proud of him, he wrote beautiful songs....so all 3 of these giants, I'm going to really miss.
Jimmy was shooting pool in a New Smyrna Beach bar and had a shot that made him stand on 1 foot and stretch over the table. His shorts were a little to short and a sack of nuts fell out Always entertaining.

Hell yeah! Im a parrot head all the way! Im 14!
