RIP, Jimmy. Your journalism skills really shined through in that introductory speech. God rest your soul and thank you for your contribution to the soundtrack of my life!
The night Jimmy Buffett was referring to was August 3rd,1975. The "One of These Nights" tour made a stop at the Carolina Coliseum in Columbia,SC. My Dad was 15 and was there. He talks about how that was one of the best concerts( from what he can remember..lol) and had never heard Buffett before. Said he was awesome! Got to see The Eagles 20 years later when I was 15, with my Dad in 1995 on the Hell Freezes Over tour...incredibly awesome!
I saw the original four that tour in 1975 in Philadelphia. I picked up a very raw copy of that show on line (probably from a sneaked in cassette tape player) but still a fantastic raw sound. Dan Fogelberg opened for them and played piano . To me they died when Bernie Leadon left
My parents had tickets to that show buy my mom was 9 months pregnant. They ended up not going because she was too nervous to climb to the high seats at the Coliseum. I was born 6 days later. Shes always joked that i couldve been born at an Eagles concert.
Their music, and Jimmy Buffett's, was almost the soundtrack to childhood in Northern Virginia (DC Suburbs). My parents were traditional country music people, but Take it to the Limit was often heard on the radio. My sister's softball coach had a Hotel California tee shirt on in their 1976 team photos from Woodbridge, VA.
Check out the movie "FM" (nice simple title) The Eagles, Linda Ronstadt and Jimmy Buffett are in it, in some large plot lines. They all play themselves. It is actually a good movie. Jimmy plays "Livingston Saturday Night" Linda plays " Tumbling Dice" She was beautiful in this film. The Eagles play "Life in the Fast Lane" The soundtrack from this movie is one of the best ever. We will miss you, Jimmy. Thank You for all you gave of yourself to us.
First eagles song I learned to play on guitar and sing was Lyin’ eyes in 1975 when I was 10. Still play and sing it now. Love you eagles thanks for making my formative years a helluva lot more fun!
Jimmy Buffett and The Eagles are my two favorite bands. If I could only listed to two bands, it would be The Eagles and Jimmy Buffett. To say I am a huge Parrothead is an understatement. I saw Buffett ten times in five different cities. One of those was my first Eagles concert which was the Hotel California tour where Buffett was the opening act.
Jimmy finally made it to the RockNRoll Hall of Fame. They didn't put him in the induction class, but some side category, but he's there finally. It's a shame that they didn't do while he was alive.
4:20 Those days are gone forever. Listen to the garbage that is being pumped out the sewer today. The industry chews them up, then spits them out as soon as the cash well is empty.
Jimmy Buffett seems like a nice guy... I heard Don Henley has 62 people on payroll whose sole job it is is to block people from recreating or using Eagles songs in any manner without paying a fee or he will sue them. Does anyone know if this is true?
i could listen to jimmy buffet talk for hours
I can talk about Buffett for hours
RIP Jimmy. You will be missed.

Saw eagles in 74 at 16 Caljam1 with 7 other bands.

Absolutely Crazy and Class Act!❤
There was NOT one thing that had class in this God hating speech.........................................
Forever the brightest light of all. Thank heavens this giant left us so much to listen to.
Love them all. Seen them both in Colorado. Both at redrocks! Best. Concert. Venue. Ever!
Jimmy...love his light humility

RIP Jimmy Buffet your legacy will live on forever
Love both the Eagles and Jimmy Buffett! Saw both of them in their own concerts, and this was before Glen passed. Rest in peace Glen!

The Eagles play "Life in the Fast Lane"

I love the opening song FM No Static at All that was done by Steely Dan
"A Pirate Looks at Heaven"...RIP Jimmy B

Ditto!!
My favorite song for sure. Such a good one.
Folks, there's no one else like Jimmy Buffett...We're not worthy.

Grew up with Jimmy's music. It all started on a Livngston Saturday Night! As a kid in the 70s I figured he was already as big as the Eagles.
Love the MASH reference, “The pros from Dover.”
Harmonize with God Jimmy what a duet.
this is how you do an induction in too the hall of fame, great job jimmy may you rest in peace.
Jimmy finally made it to the RockNRoll Hall of Fame. They didn't put him in the induction class, but some side category, but he's there finally. It's a shame that they didn't do while he was alive.
I say Jimmy open for the Eagles in 1977 on their Hotel California tour. I had no idea who he was back then.
A year has gone by since this amazing man passed away. Parrotheads miss you Jimmy. Love you, keep the party going.❤❤😢
Jimmy! 😂😂🤣 I’m still opening for this gd band. 😂 may you rest in peace with Glen and Randy!
I doubt it ! Truly doubt it !
good players. i like them all.
don and glen had good instincts to come see jimmy who became a star himself. not sure they were that nice to all their openers
Saw them both in Miami at the Hard Rock Stadium in 2019. Buffett was the opening band lol.
Miss you so much, Jimmy. You were a true American treasure. 😢
What a nice speech! Eagles are a classic band indeed.
Love his Twain reference, his literary chops. ❤
Never forget Don Felders contribution nor that of Jackson Browne !
JB should be in the Hall of Fame!
There will never be music as smooth as Motown songs and Classic Rock. RIP Bubba

Time is not concrete, that was just a blip in history. And so is today.
That's the way it's worked since Day 1. Doesn't matter who gets in the way.
The industry has always been like that.
I just spit tea all over my keyboard when he made that closing remark. Hilarious.
Jackson Browne wrote and Done Take it easy on his 1st album
Nope...2nd album...For Everyman
Jackson Browne started writing the song and got stuck...Glenn Fry finished i
Jackson wrote Doctor my eyes when he was 16
When he says "and here I am still opening for this God da** band" LOLOLOL, only Jimmy could put it like that
When you steal from one person it's plagerism but if you steal from many it's research
Why isn't Jimmy in?
Buffett?
I was born August third
Jimmy Buffett seems like a nice guy... I heard Don Henley has 62 people on payroll whose sole job it is is to block people from recreating or using Eagles songs in any manner without paying a fee or he will sue them. Does anyone know if this is true?
3:43 Jimmy Buffett was later sued

A shame the Hall is too pretentious to induce Jimmy
Dear Lisa
what does this mean?
ทำไหมต้องแฮ็กข้อบมูลราบได้สวยตัว
Jethro Tull - Hotel California
Yeah - exact same lyrics and guitar solos 😂😂😂
A shame he was always a hippie.
