So what if he is a trump supporter. It doesn't change how much talent he has. He's voted mostly Democrat in his life. Republican when it suits him. There was a time when people didn't get their feelings hurt by someone else's opinion. You could just accept an individual no matter what they thought. In fact we celebrated our differences!! It made life interesting. Today everyone wants to be offended. Its annoying as hell.

They could not have given Dave the tonight show. He had a younger audience with his own show in New York. And if they gave him the tonight show, they would risk losing that audience with a newer host. Even back then when this was happening. I was even telling people that day was not going to get the tonight show after Carson left. This way, they still had David Letterman. Unknown quantity and j was running on Johnny steam for a while.

How is Eastman a "father figure" for America?
He has at least 8 known children, that he was legally forced to admit.
He cheated on his wives...and families.
He threatened and ruined the career of actress Sandra Locke, once their 14 year relationship ended....he had her blackballed in Hollywood.
The entire time he was married to Dina Ruiz, he was having an affair with a jazz/lounge singer.
He knowingly discriminated against the disabled community, when he renovated his Mission Ranch, and legally attacked a woman in a wheelchair, when she filed a legitimate complaint.
His claim to fame as the Mayor of Carmel, was that people could eat ice cream...(long story).
      Eastwood is just an SOB.
