Just hit 60 on HC classic with combat daggers and focused on backstab. With relentless strikes talent, I was opening with ambush and bringing mobs to half or lower. Dagger backstab felt chill and easy. Multiple mobs was scary, but as a rogue you're sneaky. Deal with it lol.
Good info With the alliance weapon progression though, those starting swords are acquired in the night elf zone- however you can only train them in storm wind so it’s a bit useless to statt
Personally going to level combat dagger. Been trying it out recently and it feels a little bit nicer, than Sinister Strike, scaling alot better from the weapons, and being quite easy to set up once you get Gouge, especially vs neutral enemies pre-cheap shot. Backstab, wait for energy, gouge, backstab, evisc, usually enough to kill most enemies if your weapon is not too far behind your level. (I will still put 2 points into SS, for when gouge fails, since I value -5 energycost over 2% dodge. P.S. Also going to duo-level part of the way atleast, with a druid, allowing me to spam backstab and just letting loose a tidalwave of dps.
@@Atacas Not everything, I appreciate most of your guide and will take it in consideration while leveling, only my particular taste of weapons differing. ;) Keep it up! Have a subscription & a like.
You should have mentioned that rogues have a slow start. Before lvl 20 - 30 pulling more than one mob means a run to the graveyard. The higher you get in lvl the better it gets. Got to be patient.
I started my rogue today and it went great in the beginning. Now I'm lvl 12 though and sometimes get really pressured even by mobs that are my level (if high hp + high dmg). Fun decreases but I'm looking forward to getting to 20
Rogues are the worst 1 - 20 class in the game. At least paladins have good survivability and warriors have higher armor + hamstring kiting for elites or group quests. Rogues are quite solid levelers after about 40 though with their full tool kit, Sword of Omen, Vanquishers sword, Blade Flurry etc. I feel like Shaman are the reverse, very strong in the low levels and pretty awful 40 - 60. There are some tricks to make rogue 1 - 20 painless though. The biggest thing is a powerful weapon. Buy a level 6 green dager and another really nice dagger for 12 and 16 (AH and BS crafted). My last Night Elf rogue I did 1 - 20 in 7hr30min with one death. Painless. Another trick is duo leveling. Rogues are extremely strong if you can reliably backstab and don't have to take all the heat. Rogue/Druid, Rogue/Shaman and Rogue/Paladin all level *extremely* quickly together.
i almost can fully agree on the build :P I would play a 14 / 37 Build for fast leveling. Picking 3 Points evasion instead of Gauge = more sustain also 2 points into Endurance = better mass pulls every 2-3 min for Blade Flurry. Also i would Max out Dual wield spec with 5 points and 5 points sword specialization. Rentless Strikes i would not skill at all. I just made the experience when i use eviscerate the target dies anyways so the 25 Energy is quiet useless.
how you could have a list of easy to obtain weapons from quests and not list the Thrash blade is beyond me. Not to mention the Sword of omen as well. These will last you 10 levels easy and in the case of Thrash blade you can literally still use it at 60. They are both quest rewards.
You don't want just any MH weapon going to your OH when you upgrade..., you ALWAYS want a high dmg slow MH and fast offhand. As you're leveling grab the best offhand you can regardless of type, don't force a bad sword over a mace that does more dmg. Daggers are fine too, and it's usually easier to find a fast one compared to a sword or mace. A dagger MH spec isn't out of the question if it's a rare at your level, otherwise swords or maces is a better spec for leveling.
The higher the MH weapon dmg, the higher your sinister strikes will hit for. A fast offhand is better for energy regeneration. And with sword specialization, would you rather a free high dmg hit or low dmg?
Kimic Fast off hand also helps with poison application if I recall correctly. Basically think of your main hand as your top end damage tool, and your offhand as your on-hit assistance.
Classic Badd i do! But i will have to enlist the help of some others who are more knowledgeable than I with other classes, so if you know someone let me know!
Imo if your going sword rogue (horde or alliance) grinding dual cruel barbs by level 19 (without overdoing the grind, if you cant get the drops dont keep going for it over and over beyond that xp/time barrier) is sooooo worth it. They will usually be quite effective dps wise until your mid 30's, and organizing groups to do deadmines isnt that hard unless your on an empty server. Even if your on an empty it may be worth considering, if your an engineer w. Target dummies you can probably solo deadmines around level 24-27, it will take learning a few tricks and relying a bit on RNG to win the fight vs VC but the payoff can cut your kill time almost in half with the damage & + attack power of this weapon (human rogues should definitely get this weapon and 4/5 defias set relatively easily, the 1/5 missing being replaced by the westfall tunic, another peice of gear that can easy last you until your mid 30's. Once you hit your mid 30s you can start grinding unique drops from the mid game dungeons and get fully geared (by that I mean an item in every slot, like shoulders/helm/rings/amulet, and if your lucky or know where to find them, trinkets). It may be helpful to look up some guides to see what the good quest chains are that will give you good weapons mid-late game, as a rogue is highly weapon dependent. Thanks for the video

Im not trying to argue just curious as to your methods since they do seem to differ from my method that i believed to be the faster way to burst down enemies and also keep my health higher between pulls.
I've also had times where the gouge went off and the bandage started but then immediately stopped so I was left with gouged target and the bandage debuff.

I don't even know what's there problem with frontstabbing, it isn't even overpowered or something, just a bit more burst but also less dmg on the long run.
BaNaNa Joe if it is entirely related to server lag then that should be almost entirely fixed by having official Blizzard hosted servers and being able to play on a server that is hosted in your region, currently I’m at work but I will look for a source when i get off!
spirit over stam on a pvp server? you a fool bro.. lmao stamina king in vanilla wow
andyfibb lol at rogues that even get hit in vanilla, l2CC bruh
Combat daggers is great. Good at fresh 60
Does anyone have a macro for sinister striker/autoattack? The ones I found were for private servers and not working on classic...
so.. you're telling poeple to level with a raid specc aye? lmao
cruel barb(alliance), outlaw sabre(horde), thrash blade, vanquisher sword missing from your list which are the only weapons you wanna use as combat sword leveling and you can also start raiding with thrash blade in mh and get mirahs song for your oh at end game. next thing, those macros.... it's not retail dude, won't work
o0TraceuR0o so, these guides are geared toward NOT doing dungeons and I only list weapons you get from questing, and I’m aware its not retail, the macros are geared toward when classic comes out, as I say in the video, they are written as they probably will work in Classic, with the game being made with the retail client, dude.
@@Atacas pretty speculative, dude. Why not listing weapons from dungeons though?
o0TraceuR0o because these guides are based around leveling solo and as quickly as possible, which wouldn’t include dungeons.
Macros will work differently in Classic than they did in vanilla.
Christian Oweifie correct, the way I wrote them in this video and my others is how I was guessing they would work in Classic and I guessed correctly, my latest video shows Warrior macros and how they will be written in Classic
Mmmm I do appreciate the effort but... not much information in this *guide* theres better guides for rogues.
i hope we CANT use addons...
Tassaya Gril haha that would be a change of pace and pretty refreshing actually
Tassaya Gril and have to stretch across your entire keyboard to hit spells instead? No thanks. Would make gameplay worse. Just get good.
Christian Oweifie hey now, keep it respectful, lets be nice to each other
u know people can just look up quest objectives location and other stuff in their phone while playing wow right? or if they have, on their second monitor lmao.... banning addons will be a useless effort.
Lol no addons 😂😂
Speed level then pay for gold for your gear and gdkp then think you've mastered classic. 😅😅
Duo rogue backstab builds.
Нихуя не понял, но было очень интересно
L O L I stopped listening, at don’t level your lock picking.
Those weapons are trash
