    The incredible folks over at Mission Engineering were kind enough to get me setup with one of their top of the line FRFR monitors, the Gemini 2 Studio, which is equipped with both Bluetooth and as a fully functional USB audio interface. I must say I was blown away right out of the box with this monitor and it was total joy to play with and review. I hope you enjoy my quick overview of what is one incredible solution to amplify your guitar modeler. Please stay tuned for more videos about the incredible Gemini series from Mission Engineering.

    Just after I ordered a Line 6 Powercab Plus yesterday! Completely different price point though, with the Gemini about 3 times the price.

      I think you will love the PoweCab but as you point out this is a very different speaker with very different feature set. Both are excellent though :-)

    Jason, great video! Can you do backing tracks in the second speaker if you get the Gemini 2 without bluetooth?

      Thank you so much! With the correct cables I believe you could.

    Hello jason great video as usual, I’m debating between this frfr or the new 2x12 Powercab Plus?

    Nice job Jason, love the clean tone at 4:10, is that patch up on your site? If so what is it's name? Thanns

      Thanks so much Alan :-) I didn't put this patch up anywhere as it is something I just dialed in very quickly through the Gemini for this video. I can put it up later when I get back to the studio though!

    Jason, how do you feel the Bluetooth works if you used this to double as your home stereo unit to play iTunes, Spotify, etc? And is there latency in the Bluetooth, I.e. where if hit pause on a song, the unit takes a couple seconds to “reconnect” to play the MP3 audio.

      Hi Scott, I know it wasn't really designed as a home hi-fi system, but having said that playback sounds pretty good with Spotify etc. I wouldn't say it would be a replacement for a proper system for music listening. The Bluetooth connection is excellent and responds very well with my Samsung Galaxy S9.

    Hey Jason, Thank you for great review! Question: Which cable is exactly in input 1 ? link please :)

    • @JasonSadites
      @JasonSadites  5 років тому +1

      My pleasure :-) I think this is the cable you would be referring to for stereo? www.missionengineering.com/shop-2/products/cables/gemini-2-stereo-signal-cable/

    In your opinion, which cab has the highest volume level between the Line 6 PowerCab and the Mission Gemeni 2?

    • @JasonSadites
      @JasonSadites  6 років тому

      Hmm, that is very tough for me to say at this point as I only have had a short time with a PowerCab a while back and can't really compare them without having them side by side. I will have PowerCab in the near future though....

    so did you run from helix directly to monitors and run recording mic into interface?

    • @JasonSadites
      @JasonSadites  6 років тому

      Yes Clay....it is Helix into Gemini and microphone into Focusrite Clarett 2Pre.

    A product review without a shot of the product? (super close-up of the grill cloth not withstanding). Lol. Sounds good Jason, but let's see this thing!

      Well, I figured there are no shortage of pictures of it out there and on the Mission website for those who want to see it. But, I will have more videos for this coming soon :-)

    Hey Jason, how is the stereo separation on this thing in the room? Particularly when listening to backing tracks. Convincing?

    • @JasonSadites
      @JasonSadites  6 років тому

      Hey Brandon, great question! It is not too bad, obviously with the speakers being so physically close together it won't be as wide as if they were placed further apart, but you do hear some seperation.

      @brandonbartee1 6 років тому +1

      Thanks. I'm trying to decide if this is a good replacement/substitute for practicing through studio monitors with backing tracks OR if I should invest in larger studio monitors.

    • @JasonSadites
      @JasonSadites  6 років тому

      I have messed with it a fair bit with some backing tracks and enjoying it, but it is a tough call for sure without trying it for yourself!

    What is the point to use a speaker that give you the feeling and sound of a real amp if the only person that can hear it is you; your sound will go out from the PA for the audience to listen, and it will be different from the gemini....

    • @JasonSadites
      @JasonSadites  5 років тому +1

      Just like it would when using a real amp and cabinet which is mic'ed. The audience will hear the mic'ed sound and you will here your cabinet which will be different sounds. The Gemini comes very close to creating the same scenario by using the EmPower knob. Sorry, but I don't see your point.

    • @FrancescoFerrara81
      @FrancescoFerrara81 5 років тому

      @@JasonSadites idk, i use an frfr, and im sure that what i hear from it its the same that comes out from the PA, so the sound guy doesent have to adjust it; i think that the gemini its a good step to have your sound in small gigs, but if i have to pass trough the PA its pretty useles...only my opinion....

    • @JasonSadites
      @JasonSadites  5 років тому +1

      That is amazing if you have found something that works for you. The whole point of the EmPower knob is to give those folks that want more of the "amp in the room" feel they are used to from a normal guitar cabinet, while being able to feed the FOH the modeled mic sound. SO this is, in fact, is attempting to be a solution for a very real problem a lot of folks are having and asking for a solution to. If that is not you, then this is probably not the product for you, but it does not make it a non-issue for others.
