  • This video shows the newly commissioned 1.5Km border bridge connecting Nigeria to Cameroon at Ekot-Mfum Etung local government area of Cross Rivers state in Nigeria and Ekok Bermenda in Southern Cameroon. The video shows the minister of works and housing Mr Babatunde Fashola giving details of the bridge.
The Ikom bridge was built to ease transportation for heavy trucks and big cargo vehicles coming through northern Nigeria to have easy access with their goods into calabar and also to evacuate goods from the calabar sea ports to other parts of the country. This will also help the calabar port as they will be increase activities at the port. The Ikom bridge was funded from 2018 SUKUK bond.

Well done Nigeria! Well done GB. ❤️Loved watching this video.👏🏾🙌🏾 A huge sense of pride. It will be lovely to drive from Calabar to Cameroon on this new bridge and even cross the old bridge if the roads are good and safe. Lovely views.❤️👍🏾🇳🇬

Meanwhile, someone should help us upload photos of the bridges to Google Maps. That will be cool. Such history and lovely new developments. My Calabar peeps, step up to the task please 🙏🏾😁

Looks nice! There are three bridges shown in this video. I was able to find the location in openstreetmap, but I don't know where the third bridge is. It looked like a steel truss bridge, not the old suspension bridge.

Lovely video. By the way, the background song is so beautifully melodic. Who plays it?

So is it only Nigeria funding the bridge? It should have been funded by the two countries, Nigeria should stop being father Christmas to other countries.

Why do Nigerians have to thank him for doing his job? We really need to stop this mentality in Nigeria.
