Yum. Before we add the morning ingredients we take out two cups of the batter and save it as a starter for next time. It last 1-3 weeks in the fridge. Been doing it for years. 😊
My daughter is vegan and we followed your recipe but subbed non dairy almond milk and an egg substitute and this still turned out great! Thanks for your videos. I watch then all the time!
Oh my heavens... made these this morning and they are by far the best pancakes I've ever had. They were so light and fluffy and delicious!!! Thank you!!!
They are so delicious, fluffy, and I'm just so happy to share this recipe with everyone because they are my families absolute favorite, I make them almost every week!! I'm so glad you loved them too!!
@@dailysourdough my family loved them! But weirdly, the buttermilk syrup turned out brown. I'm guessing because the sugar caramelized. But I did 2 batches, and both turned out the same. Tasted pretty good though, and it was all a big hit the morning after Thanksgiving!
I have searched high and low for your tall big bowl. I can only find 3 qt bowls similar. Will you please share what brand and size it is? That’s a video idea! Your favorite baking tools and supplies!
I long ferment SD in the fridge for gluten intolerance when I make bread. Can this batter long ferment for 72 hours in the fridge? Thank you in advance!
Hi! Wondering why we add the soda and baking pdwr if we have a leavened batter already with the yeast. Thanks for the great video and information. This is great as a resource. :)
Great question- Pancakes are really "griddle cakes", so you want the texture similar to a cake while cooking them on a griddle. If you were to leave out the rising agents you would have a much more dense pancake. You could absolutely leave them out if you wanted to, but you saw in the video how much the baking soda and powder made the batter rise. It makes them really light and fluffy!
So good but this morning I decided I wanted waffles instead of pancakes so I changed the butter to a whole stick and added 3 more Tbsp of sugar when I added the eggs and powder and soda. Made great waffles without the syrup
Great question! It really depends on how you like it to taste. I would generally recommend you wait until the fermentation is visible in the batter (puffing up and lots of bubbles) which usually takes 10-12 hours at room temperature. The warmer the room, the faster the fermentation process happens. Experiment with the length of fermentation and see what works best for you!
@@dailysourdough Not trying to be snotty here, but i looked up a cube of butter and found it to be... Re: 1 cube butter? A cube of butter is 1 ounce, which is 2 tablespoons. its called a cube because when cut a 1/2 stick in half, you're left with perfect cubes........so for this recipe is it a cube or 1/2 cup? Quite a difference between the 2...Thanks
Hmm have you tried it on a desktop? It worked for me, but I know our website is having problems on the mobile version. I can put the recipe here if it still isn't working!

Great tip!
How Much do you feed that's?
Do you just use it out of the refrigerator or do you have to do something else to it before you put the rest of the ingredients in?
I like that you let the sour dough work on the batter overnight instead of just adding s starter for taste!

That buttermilk syrup is like liquid icing! Yum! Great pancake recipe. Thank you!

You could skip the baking powder or reduce it if you whip the egg whites. Buttermilk syrup is new to me, I will be trying that, thanks!
Just found your channel!Yay!🤗 So many good recipes to look forward too. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.
I'm so happy you're here!

My batter was very thick. I added 1/4 c water. Is that what I should have done? Pancakes turned out very good.
You make it look really easy 😊
The kefir can sit out all night. I was just asking because i didnt know ive only ever got it chilled in the store.
Does the milk need to be warmed up or can you add it cold straight from the refrigerator?
Enjoyed this recipe for a yummy breakfast for the family. I just have a question, what is the weight for a cube of butter?

Question, how long will the buttermilk syrup last if it not all used the same day?
It will last several days if you keep it in the fridge!
Thank you. I am enjoying your channel so much. I’ve made your Sourdough biscuit recipe several times, so yummy.

How many tbs is a cube of butter? Thanks!
A quarter cup would be fine.
What's the minimum hours we can let it rise before use?

Where do people even get buttermilk from? Genuine question lol
How many pancakes does this recipe yield?
Depends on the size you make them, but I would say around two dozen:)
Could you put the recipe in the description? The link doesn't work.
