Clanger 109 Update Feb - The Seat Box

- Getting the seat box back into some kind of shape. New parts from YRM including the underseat 'tool tray / battery box' - a rather well thought out replacement to the corroded steel original.
Nicely done Mat. My oldest will turn 21 in May and be able to buy dad a drink. What a lovely girl she is! Hope she still gets out there and helps dad with the clanger.
Amelie is in the midst of her A Levels at college and as a result most of her time has her head in books. What 'free time we get together generally involves me taking her along with Skye hunting mushrooms and seeking out wildlife. Im sure sure she will get back to Clanger in the summer - she is keen to learn to drive it ! Im just thankful for the time we get together no matter what we get up to. Thanks for dropping by, Mat
Excellent work as ever Mat. You worked wonders with that. The electric tucker pop rivet gun looks good. I can well understand how you are glad to be back out it in your workshops working on Clanger. It is such a tonic seeing projects progress. Happy Birthday Amelie. Looking forward to your next update.
Thanks Carl. The rivet gun is on loan from my friend - its saved my forearms and not having to run the compressor. Definately recommended to get one if funds permit and rivetting is required.

The pins are to hold the front of the seat bases down. The front edge of the seat base have a leather strap with a slit in which hooks over the pin. Three pins three seat bases. Hope that makes sense… 👍👍👍👍🇬🇧
Makes sense, Next job is to get/make a seat frame for the two passenger seats. Ive never seen them as they were not present in clanger. Thanks for watching. Mat

Nice work with your clanger. How about your Holbrook lathe. I am the happy owner of a T13 and could use more of your work with it.
I hope to get back and finish the holbrook this year. I have to get the Landrover on the road first .

When I get chance I shill whip the top cover off and take a look. Its clearly got some kind of vibration and clipping somewhere. But its intermittent, still better than freezing though ! All the best Mat
etch prime the ally before you put filler on it other wise it will come off atb
Thanks for that tip. I shall get a can of etch primer - the paint suppied is a 2k base filler which requires no etch primer (it says), am sceptical but we shall see.
