In the Widgets get rid of those 2 right columns. All those things should JUST BE more widgets. Let me choose exactly what shows up in their. I know many people that refuse to use the widgets (including myself) because of that.
The funny thing, that it took Microsoft to get to Windows 11 to finally add tabs to the Explorer, and it's still a failure, compared to the efficiency of the apps like Total Commander or XYplorer, where you have 2 panels side by side, for easier drag-n-drop operations, and each panel can also have its own set of tabs.
I'm on W11 build 23H2 22631.2506 and I don't have Cocreator (in Paint), Background Blur (in Photos) and Copilot at all, I guess some of those new Windows features are limited to English-US variant of Windows only?
Hm. Tabs in File Explorer is *not* a new option in edition 23H2 of Windows 11 !! It existed for quite some months already in Windows 11 (22H2 I remember it being versioned previous).
I just updated to 23H2 today and came here to see what was new and most of these features I've had already for a long time in 22H2. It sounds like they aren't linked to 23H2, but maybe they came out at the same time and still went to 22H2 users.
... and you didn't even mentioned the most useful new feature/option in this edition of Windows 11 (at least in my opinion): taskbar has now the option to ***not*** group icons --- see this in Settings: Personalization >> Taskbar >>> the very last option in this page, "Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels"; you now can chose to "never" or at least "when taskbar is full", instead of previous mode that was always = "always" !! This is the single option that I hated really in Windows 11 before this update/upgrade. Finally the nightmare of having all taskbar icons of opened File explorer grouped together in a single icon is gone.
Will They, Microsoft Be Bringing Back The Media Center Program, Which Is Why I Still Have A Win 7 Computer Here, So That I Can Still Watch My DVD's Through A Firewire Port In It, As Well As A Win11 Computer Here ???
@@henriknaeser That's the only reason I'm not moving to Windows 11, I have a wide screen and I can't stand sacrificing real estate in the bottom of the screen
@FlyingMonkies325 I contacted the support, regarding why copilot was absent from my system, they told me to reset the laptop After the reset, copilot arrived 🙂
Those notepad tabs are so irritating, you can switch it off. I don't see the point of having tabs in things like notepad and explorer when they're windows in the first place. Different to internet browsers which are always full screen.
I find them useful especially for my web development which involves opening tons of different folders and files, it's better to have all those windows in one window with tabs.
This has been said then. "make it a webpage." Why doesn't an OS have their GUI customizable through custom code like weblanguage and updatable graphics through that coding system. IT could be advanced or basic changes. You can force the taskbar in business but make it customizable in other places and make things unique and fancy. Just a coding system that sits on top of the os system that just pulls data from it. If tech support is needed, switch it to tech support mode and go back to the basics. have boot options.
It's a shame that unlike the browser, Notepad etc, Explorer doesn't remember the tabs you had open. Also please bring back drag and drop on the folder path.
I'm on W11 - my version is whatever is most current as of 9 Nov 2023. If I click on the snipping tool shown in the Windows+Apps panel - I see the video, but when I do win+shift+s - it's still showing only static window option - not video/mic etc ? How do I update the win+shift+s to get that apparently newer app ?
Its great i too had same thoughts like you, but updated to 11 and its flawless and fast . For best perforaance update yout bios too to imporiove overall performance
The widget panel has so much potential, if only one could start with a blank slate and add the things they needed. Instead, it's full of trash and it's a hydra: block one source and two more take its place.
Cant stop wonder if this is accurate? All these things you say are new in 23H2 is features that I already have and I still have the update pending so I have not started to download and yet I have all of this already ???? Went in here to see what's new with this update before I install it, but then realize these features are already in Windows 11 for me
Hmm, I just got a notification on system tray, that a new windows update is available, it's called "Windows 11, version 23H2", but it's odd, because I do have these fuatures already in my current version, so here we are... IDK, what's gonna be new if I install the update 🤔🤔
Been waiting for a reason to upgrade from Windows 10 to 11. This update shows me that Microsoft thinks their included apps are what I care about. They are not. I want a better OS.
The File Explorer tabs feature was present before the new update.
Yeah, it was spread out in one of the earlier mini updates but I just included it here
What is new is that you can grab a tab and drag it to separate it from the other tabs, very helpful in multi-monitor setup
@@bevyofbabes thank god, i keep misclicking new tab and hate how i couldnt drag it off
Yes but now you can drag a tab out to have in in a new window like what you can do on a regular browser.
10:40 just installed. The "co-creator" option in MS Paint isn't there.
same
As for Notepad, you did not mention that it now autosaves so that the annoying "save" dialog box doesn't open each time you try to close the window.

Yeah it’s kind of weird you can’t select widgets. Office based machine shouldn’t have that news and gossip shit on there
Love this - thank you!
So many great updates here, love the video screen record option and file explorer tabs 👏👏

Looks great, but i just wish they refined the UI a bit more. The AI integration is awesome
In this screen recording update, will there be lag in the game or screen recording while recording a game?

The first thing I did after the update 23H2 this month was go into group policy and get rid of copilot access
@@markritacco270 interesting! first thing I did was to disable Defender via GroupPolicy - apparently it doesn't work lolz xD
Is it just me, or the copilot app is no longer available on this new update? I'm not able to see it on the task bar.
So happy it includes screen record!!❤
Would love to see some office apps update for ipad users! Mainly making better use of the pen tool while presenting for example. Thanks.
Fast and informative, really useful video. Thanks Mike!

Great video man. Thanks for the heads up. I have a small question. How did you make your file explorer look like that?
I made a fresh install of 23h2 windows 11, but i haven't cocreator in paint.

How do I uninstall Edge, Cortana and the other bloatware that has grayed out uninstall ?

The add note tab is already in the previous version.
Tabs in the Explorer and Notepad aren't new. Correct me if I'm wrong.
It just change the element inside

I don't wanna see the discover panel on widget section. Is there a way to turn only that side off ?
Great features! 🎉🎉 I used to do the recording video using Power Point. Now is easier.
Is there still memory leak in file explorer or they fix that?

I hope they fix the issue with some users keyboards where the caps lock gets stuck on every word.
Can it also record the ASIO audio, (e.g.) what I use in DAW for recording virtual music instruments?
Can you move the Taskbar to the side in this version?
Also struggling with that issue...

Is it mandatory to update to 23H2 or can I keep it at 22h2 like I currently have?
@FlyingMonkies325 I'm hoping since the update is optional now, the November update will be 23h2.
