They asked Bon Jovi if they could use Wanted - Dead or Alive. He said he'd rather write a new song for the movie. Ended up writing the soundtrack.

The director of the movie was a Bon Jovi fan and wanted to use "Wanted Dead or Alive." But Jon Bon Jovi insisted on writing an original song for it, that of course being "Blaze of Glory." But he didn't stop there, the song for the movie became the title track for an entire Billy the Kid themed album, which is still one of my favorite albums and imo the best music Jon Bon Jovi ever released.
I wouldn't have gotten on y'all for not remembering the name of the movie if Jon Bon Jovi wasn't yelling it in your faces for half the song. lol

Young Guns and Tombstone are 2 "old" (My daughter's words🤬) westerns that e1 should see. Tombstone (IMHO) is a masterpiece. Val Kilmer's Doc Holliday still my favorite character all-time, and the rest of the cast were perfect. Emilio Estevez as Billy the Kid in Young Guns was perfect too, and funny AF. A hell of a great cast alongside him as well.

I was obsessed with both ‘Young Guns’ movies as a teenager when they came out.
I still listen to this soundtrack all the time.
When I bought the soundtrack when it came out, the first time I played it that, “Yoo-Hoo! I’ll make you famous!” scared the shit out of me. I was not expecting it at all.
Let's not forget "I'll make ya famous." Or my favourite "He was hacking on me." I especially love when they're all sitting around after dinner, reading and Billy shows them all up. Looking back, it's crazy all the actors that were in these movies. Love Young Guns.

It’s from Young Guns and it’s the theme song. The producers originally wanted to use Dead or Alive but Jon said he could write a better song for them. Love the lyrics to this song.

Can't remember if it was that or Shot Through the Heart they started their portion of a concert with, but their 75 minutes or so was AMAZING. Was part of a summer tour with Hanson😂 and some other groups, and the entire mood just turned electric. Was maybe 2001 or so at outdoor Deer Creek Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana. My GF at the time wasn't even into 80's rock, and even she still says it was the best entrance she's ever seen. It was hilarious spotting the parents who suffered through "Mm Bop" with their little girls just fo see Bon Jovi live. I'm 40 now and love that my little girl loves 80's rock.

Bed of Roses is so good. The very first time that I heard it, I said (out loud while alone) "Now that is how a man in love really thinks". All those other love songs are written and feel like they are prettied up for us ladies, but not that one.
I wore this soundtrack out back in the day. Jon plays a very small role in Young Guns II as an extra. Young Gun and Tombstone were some of my favorite movies.

Bon Jovi got involved with Young Guns because Emilio Estevez loved his music and got him to make a song for the first movie. That went so well that for the sequel Bon Jovi did the entire soundtrack. There is a whole album called ‘Blaze of Glory’ which the biggest song is named the same.
What shocked me is Jon kept repeating the name of the movie. Especially in the end he kept saying "I'm a young gun" The blaze of glory cd has some really good songs on it and major League musicians..Elton John...Jeff Beck..Little Richard.
