This song was specifically for Young Guns 2, Young Guns had Emilio Estevez's (Billy The Kid) brother Charlie Sheen in it.
They are both In the first one. Ironically enough Charlie plays the level headed relaxed character and Emilio plays the crazy gunslinger 😂
@@theartistformerlyknownaslu3871 and Emilio talks about how he and Jon met when Jon wrote the song, plus 10 more, such a prolific songwriter. And there is a clip of when Jon is interviewed at his home, long hair blowing, he very serious and what the atmosphere was like when at Emilio's place and being in that studio where they recorded with Elton John and Jeff Beck; awesome interviews during that time. I keep finding these gems of history - lots of stories with Jon Bon Jovi, a true artist, lovely to look at too. would have loved to have a crush on him in Gr 10 at a time when he and Dorothea met; can you imagine the smoldering heat between those 2 both a little bit rebellious but they hung on for the next 40 plus years. She was so supportive of him to work on his talent, took a break but who didn't in those younger years. love him and Dot and their story.
The line and I always love it, "Lord I never drew first, but I drew first blood, I'm the devil's son."
Can't beat the combo of Jon Bon Jovi and Young Guns! Just so much a woman's heart can take! I'm old now but haven't always been!😉
Oh, but I know what you mean! Lordy lordy! Those days.
Whoooooo. I agree!!! Is it hot in here? Lol
Oh yeah....those were the days. The hair, the earrings and that sexy voice...mmmm. BTW, do any of you remember Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme? Last night I googled some pics of him...and let me just say...my dreams left me breathless.
Same! Haven´t always been!
I can seriously watch "young guns 2" over and over again, just to hear this song kick in at the end!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Young Guns!! Part 1 & 2 were dope AF!!!
They are making a 3rd
Young Guns 2 was a little better in my opinion.
@@danielsummers2484 Old Guns
I loved this movie! And the song is crazy..."I never drew first, but I drew first blood" is a sick ass line
Watch his live performance with just Richie at the MTV music awards in 89. It started the whole MTV unplugged. You won’t be disappointed!! They sing Livin on a prayer and Dead or Alive
Oh Wow Jen Gotta Check it out
Yes!!!
Yes please!!
Use to love unplugged. Sad what MTV has become.
It’s from the movie young guns with Kiefer Sutherland and Emilio Estevez
They wanted to use wanted dead or alive but Jon didn’t think it was the right song for the movie, so he wrote this one
Young Guns 2, and Jon Bon Jovi did the entire soundtrack just as Bon Dylan did for the 70s movie Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. Both great soundtracks.
The movie is Young Guns 2!! Great movie!!! Now I have to watch it again! With Emilio Estevez, Lou Diamond Phillips, Kiefer Sutherland, and William Petersen.
Jon Bon Jovi did the sound tract and it's amazing!!
Check out Runaway.. it was on their album before Slippery When Wet, their ‘breakthrough’ album.
Emilio Estevez, who played Billy the kid in Young Guns 1 & 2, was friends with Jon Bon Jovi and loved his song Wanted Dead Or Alive and wanted to use that in Young Guns 2, Jon got the script from Emilio and wrote the song 🎶 in a diner during the filming of Young Guns 2, Jon went to New Mexico and played it on his acoustic guitar for the screenwriter John Fusco, who original played Wanted Dead Or Alive as mood music 🎶 when he was writing the first script and loved it and use it in the film, Jon wrote the whole soundtrack for Young Guns 2, he was up for original song at the Ocars but didn’t win but did win a Golden Globe Award for original song 🎶 he than got his band Bon Jovi together and played this song at the Academy Awards telecast! It’s a great song and both movies are worth the watch!🤟❤️ I recommend you do Bon Jovi songs Keep The Faith, Have A Nice Day and It’s My Life!
Bon Jovi also played a bit part in the movie. He has a crazy beard so you can't actually recognize him.
He climbs out of the prison hole
I never drew first but I drew first blood. He wrote this for Young guns when he didn't want them to use wanted dead or alive. He told them he'd rather write them another song. This is what he wrote for them.
“You hoo, I’ll make you famous….”
“William H. Bonney, you are not a God.”
“Well why don’t you pull the trigger and find out.”
"You rode a 15-year-old boy straight to his grave, and the rest of us... straight to hell!"
I'm so glad you did a lot of them. They are the best. I just love them
Absolutely awesome album. Great movie soundtrack.
Jon was Oscar nominated for this song.
As previous comment stated the song was written for the movie Young guns 2. They wanted to use wanted Dead or alive but John said no. So what did he do? He wrote the entire soundtrack. The movie was about Billy the kid
Actually the line was "I never drew first but I drew first blood". Meaning back in the Old West when someone fired their gun at somebody they "drew their gun". He's saying he never drew first on anybody but he's so fast on the trigger he always shot his man first eventhough he wasn't the guy who drew his gun first.
He's speaking through the character of Billy the Kid from the movie Young Guns 2.
He specifically wrote this for the movie.. u have to see it n you'll understand the lyrics
The first young guns movie had a line that was sampled by Warren g and Nate dogg in their song Regulate. The whole first few lines before Warren g starts to rap and the "Regulators mount up" came from that movie.
Jon Bon Jovi did the entire soundtrack to Young Guns 2, and had a cameo in the movie. It was kind of like an “ode” to the movie Pat Garret and Billy the Kid from the 70s, in which Bob Dylan had a role in and also did the entire soundtrack.
Yess Bon Jovi Thursday love it❤❤
Never drew first, but I drew first blood. That line still gets me. As a kid I may have gotten my ass kicked, but got some blows in.
There is a song on this same soundtrack that is a duet with Chris Ladoux called, Bang a Drum. It is a great song.
And if you’ve never seen the Young Guns 1 & 2 movies, they are great.
The duet version with Chris Ladoux came out well after the movie. But it was cool that Chris did this song later on.
Ahhhhhh yes! Jon Bon Jovi! 😜
In 1990, producers of the western movie "Young Guns II" (with Emilio Estevez, Kiefer Sutherland and others) asked for "Wanted dead or Alive" (published 4 years before) as soundtrack; Jon Bon Jovi agreed, but later realized that the lyrics won't fit, so instead of that song, he wrote (as a solo artist, without the band) a new piece, pretty similar, called "Blaze of Glory", another huge success.
And along with that song, he wrote an entire album with the same name, with the support of a supergroup that comprised Elthon John, Little Richard and the renowed guitarist Jeff Beck! A masterful work: ironically, the album turned out far better than the movie. Quality is so high that this song is probably my least favourite of that album!
Young Guns 1&2 are such great movies. Def worth a watch. Great reaction!!🙂
Love Young Guns 1 & 2. This was part of the soudtrack of Young Guns 2.
The most historically accurate telling of billy the kid ever done. They researched for 3 years b4 filming both movies
Oscar for this song
Great song. Great movie. Definitely worth the watch.
Yes!!!! Awesome..... love Bon Jovi and ur reactions to Rock and Metal music.... I'm a metal head myself..... 🤘😁🤘..... keep them coming .....
My favorite song of his ❤❤❤ Young Guns 2 was a great movie
This song is ONE OF THE BEST SONG FOR A MOVIE AND YES IT WAS PERFECT 👌 FOR YOUNG GUNS 2
It's from Young Guns 2.
Emilio Estaves as Billy the Kid.
He did as a solo, not with the men from Bon Jovi. The movie is Young Guns 2, Emilio Estevez who play Billy the Kid, Jon and him were friends and I guess from what they said he got the script from a Emilio and Jon wrote this song for the 2nd movie.
He said, “I never drew first, but I drew first blood…”
This was epic! Great reaction!
This song is from the movie Young Guns 2. The same band had another song called Wanted Dead or Alive which was from the first Young Guns movie.
Young guns is one franchise where 2nd movie was as good or better than first. Both are awesome
Jon Bon Jovi actually appeared in Young guns 2
Dope be Love this song Big Holla.
Young Guns 2🔥🔥🔥🔥 A must see!
"Regulators! Mount up!"
Check out the song Santa Fe from the same album, Young Guns 2.
the only one solo album Bon Jovi recorded! it was for a movie!! as much as I love this Album, JBJ is so much more than this! Jersey lives in him!
Bon Jovi are a Rock! They did this Song for the western Movie “ Young Guns”!
The whole young guns 2 soundtrack was written by Jon during a break for the band (they actually didn't even know if they'd ever get back together after New Jersey). Songs like Miracle, Blood Money, Bang A Drum and Santa Fe are all highlights off it but overall a great album!
I love Bang a Drum!
Me three! That duet is just 😍
Some ideas for the next Bon Jovi songs (with videos): "Born to be My Baby", "Bad Medicine", "Keep the Faith", "Bed of Roses", "This Ain't a Love Song", "Everyday"
Yeah this is from Young Guns 1 and 2 about Billy the Kid played by Emilio Estevez. Both are great movies if you've never seen them I highly recommend them.
It was just from Young Guns 2. He did the entire soundtrack.
Most people think of a 'Wise Man' is someone that is much older. Jon is asking, "Will I grow old?" Like before I can be a wise man, I need to grow old enough to be one.
Those famous brown leather pants. Drooling
ROCK ARTIST BON JOVI IS HIS BAND
Jon Bon Jovi wrote and performed the soundtrack for the movie "Young Guns 2," which is a western about the death of Billy the Kid (played by Emilio Estevez, Charlie Sheen's brother). The movie also features big names from back in the day like Keifer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Phillips and Christian Slater as members of Billy's gang. "Blaze of Glory" is the title track and the record features a bunch of legit guest musicians like Little Richard and the legendary Jeff Beck, who plays the guitar solo for this song. It's a Jon Bon Jovi solo record and not a Bon Jovi (the band) record, though.
The Young Gun movies are some of the greatest movies ever!
Incredible soundtrack to an amazing movie thanks lots much love and God bless x
Thank you! Great reaction to a great song!
The movie is Young Guns II, my friend. Very good western.
Young guns movies are probably two of the best movies ever made
The entire Young Guns II sound track was recorded by Bon Jovi. Cool trivia fact about the movie…Bon Jovi was actually in the movie. He and Emilio are great friends. Jon wanted to be in the first movie. Emilio told him they were getting ready to shoot the second movie and he wanted Jon to be in a scene. He had to wear a fur coat because of his tattoo on his shoulder.
This clip shows Tom Cruse in Young Guns and Bon Jovi in Young Guns II

Damn, now I want to watch Young Guns again!
There is a man who claimed to be Billy the Kid in Texas in his 80s. Had the scars that the kid had. Said he wasn't killed the way it was said. So maybe those lyrics about him living to be wise had something to do with that.
Jeff Beck is the guitarist on the songs from Young Guns 2
"Wanted Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi next!
Thank you! So much better than this song imo. ✌❤
I strongly suggest you listen to the whole Young Guns 2 soundtrack cause I think you’ll love it, there’s so many great songs in there. “Blood Money”, “Sante Fe” and “Never Say Die” especially.
It is an excellent soundtrack, all the way through. Especially, for Bon Jovi fans.
The guitarists was Jeff beck ,listen to wanted to dead or alive great song
Young Guns. GREAT movie!
Yeah, it's a soundtrack to Young Guns: Part II. Actually, Jon created a whole album for the movie. There's also another music video called "Miracle" from the same album.
Holla this was the title song Young Guns I love Bon Jovi seen them 10 times
Waiting to see if you did Living in Sin, if you haven't, don't judge it by it's title.
Billy kid a real outlaw
Movie soundtrack x 2 …..the 80’s I think with these Young Gun movies…..great song! ❤️🎼🤘😎
He said « I never drew first but I drew first blood”.
This was from the Young Guns 2 movie. Both Young Guns movies are worth watching.
Speaking of rabbit holes -
don't forget about Prince!
🔥🔥🔥 ✌🎵❤ 🔥🔥🔥
Going down in a blaze of glory= going out shooting
Great reaction
I never drew first but I drew first blood. # family, they always a pain in the ass.
Young guns 2 one of my favorites 😁😁😁
Jon Bon Jovi lead singer from Bon Jovi. He did this soundtrack to Young Guns 2. (starring Emilio Estevez, Charlie Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Philips) and won a Grammy and an Oscar for this song and soundtrack! He's not a country singer.
✌💗🎶😁
Please listen to "It's My Life" (their most viewed music video on youtube) or "Always"!
This was Jon's solo project.
And he had a bit part in the movie
Love Lou Diamond Phillips in the movie
Please do "Rainy Night in Georgia" by Conway Twitty with Sam Moore. It's a Brook Benton cover
Soundtrack of movie Young Guns II, 1990.
Favorite movie "Young guns"
Young Guns 2. My first and favorite western, lol. Jon was in the movie for like 2 seconds. No Bon Jovi, this was Jon's first solo album/sdtk.
George strait has 60 number ones on the country charts.... Bon Jovi or other big acts are number ones on billboard top 200 the main chart that you want a number 1 on
That’s still impressive to have 60 number one hits! I love George Strait. But also not just him having country number 1 hits but a lot of people also don’t realize that George Strait doesn’t write his songs. He has and has had for decades song writers fighting to get their songs picked up by Strait. Jon and Richie have done all their own writing. Yes they have had some co-writers sit in and some to edit. But Jon and Richie have written so much stuff and even have written hits for other artist. So not knocking George Strait but having 60 number 1 hits and having 60 number one hits you wrote is two totally different things!
For the great movie Young Guns 2 😎👍🎶
He wrote the soundtrack for young guns 2
The movies are awesome!
This is song to young guns 2 awesome movie and the first young guns movie is awesome as well
Jeff Beck plays the solo on this.
Young Guns two is awesome !! They wanted to use Bon Jovi’s Wanted Dead or Alive but Jon said no that he wanted to write a new one for the movie .. pretty sure it was Oscar nominated
He won a golden globe for this song
Young Guns 2 is the movie. Songs not in movie but a great release from Jon.
I am just putting this out there for the internet to have a record of it so here I go (As of 11:45 AM in Wichita Kansas on 4/29/2024 his name as of right now is "Jon Bon Jovi" If in the future the internet and society make any claims that his name is "Don Bon Jovi" I am here to testify that his name is indeed "JON BON JOVI" "JON" not don "JON" LOL! just throwing this one out there in case we have any future Mandela effects 🥴🤔🧐😬😳🥸😂🤣😅😉
The movie is Young Guns.
The reason he put his first name in was because it was a solo album. Single from young guns
Bed of Roses, Always, Never Say Goodbye, Wanted Dead or Alive... the list goes on by Bon Jovi. Check them out!!!
Like others said. Watch both Young guns movies. This was the theme song for part 2
This entire album from my POV is the best music Jon Bon Jovi has ever made. I know it all by heart (bought the tape when it came out and played it to death!)
BTW: Bon Jovi is the band. This was a solo album, hence the full name
I have the CD. It is pretty great!
