question: A friend drove his 2013 Dodge Journey 2.4L with his Alternator bearing going bad and the car died. He is older and no doubt got confused and it died on busy street... push start and may have been trying to start it repeatedly? It got towed home, I pulled the battery which under warranty and got a temp loaner put it in and drove less than a block with it. Removed and replaced the alternator and went to start it. Then the fun started! GETTING SOLID LIGHTNING BOLT> check engine light P0562 System Volatge Low. Checked all fuses, went through almost everything I know to do... BUT condition does not change.
Recharged battery still the same. Pulled alternator again just to verify new one is good. I was thinking it looks like a starter issue but have no clue... I dont have all the test equipment needed and it so cold out - I always get punished helping someone it seems I suspect the Starter but the car is rough looking and he bought recently from someone... I would never have bought it... it looks like someone had a lot troubles with already...
I am thrown by it worked and now it does not! I guess I am stuck needing to test the starter and I am equally scared by all the people who have posted no start no crank electrical problems with this car... and obviously the previous owner had their problems too...

So what’s happening with the car now? Does it start but just the lightning bolt and voltage code only or it doesn’t start at all now?

I have this car the 2010 2.4 first was the 2009 and then models after , I had the Same issue as you checked my fuse box , had low system voltage put a good (quality ) starter in im sure there is a couple out there I used advance auto parts and bought a quality part starter,check all your cables , an make sure it’s not one of those a bad starter or a bad alternator to throw that check engine code . Too recall to specify I’m just trying to help maybe I’m thinking your alternator on this car I have replaced , battery ,alternator , starter , headers , catylitic and can be done . I can test both alternator batteries and starter , with different tests .

For electrical gremlins in a dodge journey add a second ground strap. Fixes all kinds of issues.
