Let me get this straight. AK calls for 275. Hellmuth with AA raises to 1700 and the commentator here suggests shoving all in with AK and how that would make sense... "as a back jam"...for 27,400. When he only has 275 invested in the pot at this time. Dont listen to ANYTHING this guy has to say if you value your money at all. You only win if your opponent has air and folds. And that was HELLMUTH. He doesnt play that way at all. Ever. So at best you are flipping for 27,400 and more often than not you are beat.
Yeah I wondered that too, IF he made the call with AA, as far as im concerned the "i folded the flush" guy should have been the one to pay the remaining chips after disclosing information that vital
I disagree with your analysis on the turn Doug, here's why: You say Phil shouldn't be worried by the flush because Nick would have raised on the flop with a flush draw but two issues with that. 1) Phil could have JJ in his range given the pre flop action and that should be taken into account, so even with a flush draw re-raising in that spot is an unnecessary risk with a draw vs. 3 of a kind IMO. 2) Phil has no flush blockers so I think him worrying about his opponent having at least one spade is relatively reasonable. No disrespect meant, you are obviously a better poker player than me but I had to point out I don't agree with that.

Once you get in enough preflop with Aces, don't fold post-flop. I think the number is around 14 big blinds. Anything above that, you can get it on every flop and your opponent literally cannot outflop you often enough to profit. A few big blinds more than that, and you don't have to fold even all the way to the river. I don't know how much Hellmuth had back here, but huge preflop pots do a fantastic job of protecting Aces.

Absolutely absurd to come from someone who’s been playing 20+ years...so much so you have to wonder if it’s an attempt at helping Phil out or if he’s just that spaced out.
That's the tamest Hellmuth blow up I've ever seen, honestly I'd have been more pissed being either of the guys in the next hand while the whole table is still babbling about the last one, but I guess this is a bit more laid back since they are pretty chatty the whole time.
I think the better answer is Phil knew he had to fold after matusow angled him the spades info to not look like they both are lowlife cheaters. Matusow is a scumbag but Phil can't risk losing his credibility. Phil was steaming at mikes blatant cheating which put him in a bad spot.
I'm laughing at the comments about the hand reveals. These guys have been playing each other long enough not to believe anything anyone says at the table about any hand they haven't shown. It's bad play at an open table but as Phil clearly pointed out it's invite only. What you're seeing is how friends play poker. Never miss an opportunity to poke fun at your friend's loss, knowing full well they'll return the favour when it's your turn to take the hit. It keeps everyone humble, well everyone except Phil.
For some reason I actually kinda like Phil, but can't stand Mike. I've been thinking about why that is for years, but I still can't come up with an answer 😄
You got love Helmuth getting all that elbow room while the remaining seven players are crowded around the rest of the table? I guess he needs extra room for his ego and the steam coming out of his ears when he loses.
While Matusow didn't need to make the remark, Hellmuth had no business showing his cards to anybody while the hand was active. For someone like Matusow that's practically begging him to say something like "I knew you had aces." Phil brought that on himself.
Played at a table one time and out played an older gentleman at the table for a hand. He was obviously sour about this so he decided that he was going to talk during all of my hands and tell the other players what he felt I had. I let it go on for a bit because he wasn't even close to being right, but then I started to get annoyed. Entered a very large hand where I was bluffing and he correctly pointed it out. I kept my composure until the end of the hand and then told him he if he opened his fat fucking face again, I would be glad to close it for him. He probably had a 100 pounds on me but whatever. He stood up and before he could completely stand up, I was up and within arms length of him which put him off guard. Starting stuttering saying it was no big deal and that I should calm down. Pit boss came over and put an end to it.

I wonder if Hellmuth picks up on what Mikey says and ends up calling what the eventual outcome would be? I have to imagine he’d be shamed into splitting the pot or something. Absolutely absurd to come from someone who’s been playing 20+ years...so much so you have to wonder if it’s an attempt at helping Phil out or if he’s just that spaced out.
Phil is backing Mike so maybe they’re playing together? That was a really shady comment, letting Phil know that’s 2 less outs.
I don’t think mike said that in efforts to collude. I think he just couldn’t keep his mouth shut
Matusow is a hypocrite. He would have totally freaked if someone had done that to him.
Yeah especially considering how mad he got because he jokingly got slow rolled in a friendly game. He is such a hypocrite
As many have already stated, Mike likely did that immoral move because Phil is staking him.

If Phil called Nick would have slapped another part of Mikes anatomy.
I love how they’re morphing into the same person in looks 💁🏻♂️
You're absolutely right! Thank you for analysing the hand.
God help me I just love Phil, he's so damn entertaining, I'm sittin' here laughing, he kills me! LOL
For some reason I actually kinda like Phil, but can't stand Mike.
I've been thinking about why that is for years, but I still can't come up with an answer 😄
I just love the well deserved "Honey" mocking.
"Q 4 suited, one of Barry's better holdings that I've seen him with" lol I'm dead!!
Phil always says they play so bad but never thinks maybe he's exploitable 😂
You got love Helmuth getting all that elbow room while the remaining seven players are crowded around the rest of the table? I guess he needs extra room for his ego and the steam coming out of his ears when he loses.
If Phil Calls there cause of Mikes comment I think Mike should have to forfeit his stack to Nick. Thats just so far out of line.
Plot twist: Phil is playing music with those Beats by Dr. Dre
The craziest is when they insist on getting you to talk, and then immediately regret it.
Doug, I just can't get into your videos. No offence, but you talk more than we hear of what the players are saying. gl
While Matusow didn't need to make the remark, Hellmuth had no business showing his cards to anybody while the hand was active. For someone like Matusow that's practically begging him to say something like "I knew you had aces." Phil brought that on himself.
Any video that shows Phil losing this hard and being made fun of is 10/10 in my book!

This is why I wouldn’t be good in tournament poker. I’m not trying to analyze every single move made at the table.
7:30 with subtitles: "it's much more likely that nigga actually as a hand" LOL
Kmillz TFT there are no subtitles my nigga

Phil and Mike are so self-absorbed that they don't notice when they act like complete fools
Actually, it is rather you who doesn't realise, that these guys been joking around for the past 10 years+ and just shittalk eachother for the content and fun..........so yea, you look very cringe as fuck with such a dumb comment, it just shows, you know absolutely nothing about these guys.
@@derek4177 I like them both, but godamm there is more then fuckin 30k $ on the table, and you say what you fold??
No Closed Captioning enabled on this video?
Phil now plays like he is scared to lose. He keeps allowing players to push him around bc everyone knows he wont put it all in unless he has the stone cold nuts
Phil always becomes quiet and holds his hands close to his face when he has good hole cards. Easy tells.
You slammed your chips like you gave the pot away....
we're playing for a lot of money here
The best part about bluffing a pro is that they will be so butt hurt when you beat them straight up while playing the exact same way.
Mike should be banned from the Bike for attempting you cheat and help Phil decide his move. I'm surprised the Bike didn't review this hand.
Nick sounded like Mike Wasowski when he said "Mike stfu and let him steam!" Lol
Mike's like that uncle at Thanksgiving dinner that always says something that everyone knows is wrong but we laugh anyway because.... well that's uncle Mike.
yep just an angle shooting cheating drug addict and convicted felony dealer.
Not the first time Mike has done this
I am sure this has been said but Nick totally looks like a thick David Cross. I'm not the only one who sees this right?
Don't title your video like that, they didnt even notice. This is a commentary, clickbaiting isn't nice
Doug Polk is the greatest of all time and the best poker channel on UA-cam
It’s funny because at points I didn’t realize he paused the vid and had figured the players were holding true to their poker faces
