- ** Please note there is a "Barn Door Horizontal" preset transition in Shotcut which allows you to make a similar transition between two clips even easier than this method. This effect is different though, in a subtle way. In this effect, the two halves of the first clip slide outwards to reveal the second clip; in the "Barn Door" preset they don't. There a much simpler quicker way of doing this ,just split the clip drag the right piece to the left to slightly overlap by 2 mm then go up to property’s click on the bar to drop the list of about 15 different types of transitions job done , blimey don’t like your method cheers Shane 🇬🇧
This is different. The method you talk about doesn't split the clip, it just masks the first clip, from center to the sides. Jonray's method actually splits the clip in two parts and slides each part to the left and right. This is a much better looking transition in my opinion.
