Ayy new video! haha could not be better timed lol, recently got a nice squeaking noise whenever the exhaust got hot, had a hanger crack. Took me a two weeks to find the darn thing, was the one right above the cross member but at some point i gotta replace everything as each one is gonnna start going soon knowing my luck. You are making quite the library of videos, once i get a garage swear you will be playing in the background of a lot of projects at this point, keep up the good work man, keep trucking!
Nice video! I think that the 2 piece exhaust manifold used on '00 and '01 model years gives the 4.0 engine a distinctive sound over the previous one piece manifold.
good video, bro - I have the FM Super 44 installed which sounds a bit different on my 1998 XJ with a Magnaflow high flow cat - more raw, throaty, raucous - lovin it !
I do try. But this video was kinda lame compared to the last one... so I figured I'd wait a bit before release so people would have lower expectations lol
@@WAEMIDIV absolutely. I should have replaced rather than reuse but it was only a little crusty at the end so I saved the money. I had to replace my water pump at the same time so it was a twofer job…
2:14 how do you get this bracket off? I’ve tried so hard and it won’t come off. the previous owner of my jeep took off that rubber hanging piece and welded the hanger straight to the bracket. I’m looking to replace the muffler though and need to drop the tailpipe in order to do that. thanks!
Yes, but that happened a long time ago. I routed it under the cargo area trim and it comes out next to the latch for the liftgate, so it stays inside when not in use, and when I do need it, I just route it outside through the weatherstripping with the liftgate closed over it
Not for me, I've consistently averaged 19 in the city and 20 on the highway, and that's still the same after 10 fillups with this Muffler vs. the stock one.
„It’s your predetermined destiny to start the engine without a muffler on it” nailed it
I have a wicked flow and a cracked manifold ! Sounds awesome
Ayy new video!

I have a $40 thrush rattler muffler on my xj, it sounds MEAN, i love it🤘🏻😎
possible video idea: how to identify model years of xj's from exterior details
well do I have a surprise for you.... next video is gonna be an absolutely legendary tale

Damnit. Now I have to do this. Thanks again for another very informative video.
always like watching your videos ...and appreciate the humor. thank you

Very nice!
I was thinking of biting the bullet on a new muffler, and this is exactly what I need. Why do you have good timing
I do try. But this video was kinda lame compared to the last one... so I figured I'd wait a bit before release so people would have lower expectations lol
Timing is everything… he’s like Delta airlines… he pulls out (new videos) on time
You said pulls out ha..hahaha
I'm more of a Magnaflow man myself, but it did sound pretty good.😁👍👍
I'm not sure if I've ever heard a Magnaflow in person, I shall seek fortune there
I just replaced my muffler and reused the tailpipe. Some new clamps and a little elbow grease I was there for 60ish bucks.
Excellent! I suppose I could have reused my Tailpipe, but it was original, so I figured why not make it new and shiny
@@WAEMIDIV absolutely. I should have replaced rather than reuse but it was only a little crusty at the end so I saved the money. I had to replace my water pump at the same time so it was a twofer job…
Sounds great!
There must be something wrong with your XJ. No check engine light. Bulb must be burnt out.

sounds like there's been some custom work that will require custom solutions. The bracket is held to the frame by 2 bolts, I broke one of mine.
@@WAEMIDIV were they super difficult to get off? because mine are being pretty difficult. thanks for the help btw
Great work.
Did you do a wiring harness for the new rear hitch?
Yes, but that happened a long time ago. I routed it under the cargo area trim and it comes out next to the latch for the liftgate, so it stays inside when not in use, and when I do need it, I just route it outside through the weatherstripping with the liftgate closed over it
Do i need to put exhaust sealer between each joint?
only if it leaks
I didn't use any
@@WAEMIDIV that leak between the muffler and cat how'd you fix that? Just tightening it more?
@code_xj yeah I just tightened the clamp a little more and/or forgot about it
@@WAEMIDIV have u noticed any loud droning noises while cruising with this setup?
the flowmaster mufflers are a little notorious for drone in the XJ, it's a very susceptible vehicle. You get used to it
Why did you do this to me. Now i need a flowmaster
duuuude I wonder what it would sound like on a 2.5L! That would be cool. You gotta do it
@@WAEMIDIV will do someday. I have thought about re doing my exhaust
Did u have a front cat on ur front exhaust pipe? It kinda looks like a bulb
Yes, all 2001 Cherokees actually have 3 catalysts. 2 in the engine bay on the manifold and 1 in front of the muffler
@WAEMIDIV so I actually have a 99 that has one bulb in the front pipe. I just don't know if it's a cat or not
Thnx 4 da vid!👍
Just put a super 10 on my 4.7 grand Cherokee and the thing has stupid amounts of drone at 1900rpm it’s soooo loud
Did it affect any MPG? I heard some people complain about mpg loss after.
Not for me, I've consistently averaged 19 in the city and 20 on the highway, and that's still the same after 10 fillups with this Muffler vs. the stock one.
Great video as always.!
Why did you use w d forty. Where's the peanut butter. Lol
How dare you have a new rear end
a new /cover/ for the rear end! (Homer Simpson meme)
God i want a manual in my jeep...
do it
@@WAEMIDIV lol. I just pulled my aw4 out and have a thousand buks worth of rebuild parts for it. Got some other plans tho.. other projects👍
These are unnecessary funny sometimes. Also thought it was interesting that my 88 had the newer style hangar
You're in Florida now man, delete that cat and dump out pipe
The thing is, I won't be in Florida forever. I will not stay here, so I'll keep the catalysts for now
