Correct about the O2 sensor wire bracket not present on 87-90 Fed emissions. I'm lucky in that the 93 YJ drivetrain I scored has it, so I'm going to make use of it (HO engine with Renix sensors/ computer/ Renix to HO throttle body TPS adapter). Great vid, as always- revisiting this one for any reminders I'll need before knocking this out today.

I have a 2.5 99, automatic 3 speed(30rh) went bad i'm thinking to make it manual need to get the ax5 or the ax15 is good to go?

Thanks from 3 years later! Friggin XJ’s clutch decided it didn’t wanna engage (or actually disengage I think) anymore just before snow, so now I gotta take a gander at the clutch fork

I did iridium 3 month down misfires and cylinder 6 misfire was bad. Changed the ignition coil again n put OE platinum will see if it works or if I should have watched your channel earlier

My build date is May 2001 and I have phillips screws holding my marker lights in.

My problem with this wasn't even the puzzle itself, which was easy, but finding those damn control panels. They just blend into the background.

I appreciate your thorough breakdown. I found the 3" hose attached to the charcoal canister was old & cracked. It cost me $3 to replace & couldn't have been easier. After 1 1/2 years of looking @ my check engine light it's now fixed! THANKS! \m/

Hey bud quick question I have an 87 wagoneer idle is a bit high when I hit the gas it tends to keep the throttle open I replaced throttle cable and cleaned throttle body. If you push from under hood opens and closes as it should. You kinda have to use you toe to lift to get it come down and if you put it in gear it likes to take off like your flooring it… I’m wondering if it’s kick down cable at this point maybe vacuum leak I’m not really sure any help would help

This test is done with the truck on and in reverse or with the truck off.

I didn't even remove the fan bracket when I did mine, left all that in place and it worked fine

You should browse bring a trailer for all 2000 models that sold. They have lots of pics of each one with the door sticker and close enough pics of side markers

Any update on the new linkage? I just purchased this from your link. I’m going to put it in soon. My concern is the adjustment part. Hopefully I can dial it in. Do you just turn the threaded rod in the middle back and forth to tighten up the slack?

I did this followed all the steps, broke and replaced a few vacuum lines along the way, I tried starting it up and it sounds like it wants to start but simply doesn’t, I’m pretty sure it’s getting gas, I even took off and made sure the spark plugs were lined up with the coil rail, I don’t know what else to check 😭

Thanks for creating this video! Its the best video detailing how to do this job correctly, I must of rewatched it about 8 times while doing my rear main seal. I really appreciate you showing the nitty gritty details and the torque specs and the way in which you lowered the front end down using two bottle jacks lol (I bought another bottle jack just for this, sketchy, but effective haha). Watch those front brake calipers and make sure they are sliding ok and not getting stuck. That can also cause the wobble and heat the disk up. Might have to polish the rail the caliper slides on. Or replace the spindle assy.
