I came to this realization about a year ago when I wanted to swap the fogs from my rusted 2000 xj to my new-to-me rust free 99. I thought we were golden when I was able to swap in the switch and after hours of fighting the fogs off the 00 I learned the news on the 99 😂

watched this whole video thinking "maybe I'll tackle this on mine" then I remembered I have an aftermarket winch bumper with no spots for the fogs lmao. I'm gonna check my 01 right now though just to see if it has the pins in place.

Going to try this on my wj, factory harness removed the connectors I believe 2002 model year which I have so now I gotta figure out out how to get powers from the relay under my dash out to the front bumper without creating a rats nest

Bro, always love your content.. did this job on my 97 last year with the help of my brother-in-law, who is a professional mechanic. All the other jeep head videos carry on about the rocker arms needing to be torqued wile on TDC for each cylinder.. this is absolutely not required as the valves are self-adjusting. Just torque em to spec and call it good.

Hey really good information here. Thanks. But my question is if I get a complete 4x4 manual 90 xj I should be able to swap everything to my 2wd auto 96 xj? Or I will have issues with the swap?

This is unbelievable! I know I'm 5 months late but I've had crazy driveability issues with my 99 lately, specifically the ECT sensor. You mentioned that lower harness hitting the fuel rail and it rang a bell in my brain, that's the one carrying the ECT signal. Went out and checked and there it was. Wiring harness lying on top of the fuel tail, with the brown and yellow ECT wire worn straight through!

Mine just blew at 110,000 lol, time to get the head rebuilt and slap a new gasket on it, new thermostat and fresh coolant

Watched this yesterday, today when i was wrenching on my '98 XJ i remembered to take a look, and sure enough the cable harness you mentioned was in the process of getting chewed up by the fuel rail. Fixed it before it caused a breakdown - Thank you dude

I made a reddit post on this game too without the knowledge of the post mentioned in this video. I played this game so much as a kid after getting home from school. I'd be stuck at my mom's work pretty much everyday so I'd play all these interesting games on her work computer. I randomly thought of this game about 2 years ago, but didn't know the name. I have an XJ manufactured 06/10/00, and yes I have phillips screws as you noted. I love this new Intel I stumbled into. Thank you for being a geek like me. I’ve had this 01 for the last 22 years and before that I had a 95.

Here's my question, which I don't you really showed the solution to: How did you go about removing the parking brake cable from the bracket assembly? You popped it out of the retaining mechanism and then immediately cut to the underside.
