I think an interesting note for TF2 (the valve one) is that this video was made _before_ #FixTF2 back in June, which did actually seemingly result in Valve taking action and finally taking care of the bots, which are still gone to this day, though that was after 5 or so years of Casual being extremely hard to play because of them. I feel like you can explain this best with some Manga stories, most mangakas(writers) determine the start and the end of it at the very beginning of the story, they think about progressing the shit later. And those honestly make for the best series ever, JJK. Pre decided, did not change the story even when everyone tried to force him, while Gege Akutami left a lot of things to be interpreted by the user, no one was mad at the story except "Gege might kill our boy anytime". Tokyo Revengers, Mangaka was writing everything, had everything pre planned. Started recieving death threats, he changed the story and the ending to cater to his fans, everyone was like "THIS ENDING SUCKS" and this and that. People need to realise that sometimes, a story is supposed to end. You let it go on for too long, you'll fuck it up. You let it go in the direction of the masses, you won't please anyone EVEN THE MASSES WHO WANTED THE STORY TO GO THAT WAY. Games are and always will be, nothing but a story (this excludes PvP) and you should let it die cause the writer is tired, communities doing the most for their games is fine but hating on the writer while it was his brain that gave you the world you love so much is straight up wrong. Sometimes, the best way to honor a story is to let it end as intended.
I had a game on tf2 where my entire team was engineers just making turrets to stop the entire enemy team of bot snipers... we won and it was oddly fun, but it was for sure a "state of the game" sort of situation
13:03 Okay, but last TF2 major update, jungle inferno was released in 2017. Ever since, this game has been mainly recieving only community made cosmetics, sometimes community made holiday maps, and not even anything like anti bot support. It's entirely fair to say that caring for a community this dedicated would be innovative thing. This is not a case of a game that slowly descended into irrelevancy, lost player numbers and stopped making money, all the keys to unlock boxes with cosmetics were still bringing massive amounts of money, people are still here, dropping in from time to time to play till the lack of content burns them out again for a while... Also, sly cooper is singleplayer franchise, that's not the same thing.
Overwatch 2 isn't making a turnaround, it can't come back from the failure of its launch. You don't see tweets about it because people have just written it off, forgot about it, and will never come back to the game.
I cannot fathom being so big into hero shooters and having never played TF2 That game was so seminal to me as a person that I genuinely can't imagine my life if I hadn't fallen in love with it
God Titanfall 2 is so good. I dearly wanted her to show the title screen transition from the title to the opening cinematic shot -- that transition was downright _inspired,_ it gets me every time. From the second you drop into the tutorial to the credits, the campaign is captivating in every way. It's only a shame there isn't more of it -- but I'd rather it be this short and this good than any longer and any worse.
Team Fortress gets years of support from its release in 07 to 15 and is a hugely successful franchise and the devs declare themselves finished Team Fortress 2 fans: WHY DOES VALVE IGNORE THEIR GAMES?????? Devs need to be forced into staying on one project forever just like the fucking wow devs are
That'd be great if devs ACTUALLY declared themselves done with TF2... but they didn't. In fact, they practically said they there WOULD be another major update after Jungle Inferno in 2017. There was a vote between heavy and pyro, and pyro won the competition to get a class update FIRST and BEFORE heavy did. It wasn't supposed to be a matter of which one gets it at all. And it's not like the game just lost all profitability, they release MULTIPLE paid cosmetic crates every single year with EXCLUSIVELY cosmetics made by the community, plus have the community market reselling fees, which makes them more money idling off TF2 every year than most games ever make in their lifetime.
I played the titanfall 2 campaign for the first time earlier this year, and my god it still holds up better than campaigns from modern games even. I'm not really sure how this is even possible, but I was even able to play in 32:9 super ultrawide which didn't exist when the game came out
I think for me, the saddness with tf2 not being loved by valve or the general gaming community in general is that there's nothing like team fortress 2 out there. Games with not just fun mechanics and combat, but also the most fun movement to date, being friendly, and most importantly, T H E K I L L B I N D. Games havent been able to recreate the level of fun and absurdatiy of tf2 since tf2 added the party taunts and players discovered how to push a button and ragdoll. So until another game has a button that lets you just die, nothing's beating tf2 for me.
Flats’s rant about keeping things alive for too long or letting games die hit me so hard because Mario Strikers and Mario and Luigi series were some of my favorite series, but when Mario Battle League came out it was so slow and plain and disappointing for old players. I want to say it’s a good game but it’s just poorly designed as a whole. Mario and Luigi brothership, though I haven’t finished it yet, is a good game and new players to the series will absolutely love it, but there are just some things that doesn’t hit the way the Partners in Time or Inside Story did, especially with the story itself feeling a little lackluster. Both games had been changed fundamentally and just doesn’t feel right compared to the old ones (battle League was just straight up bad). This made me think of the Burnout series as well, and Burnout has been an amazing game and as much as the community wants another game, we agreed that we’d rather have the franchise die where it is than get a terrible game that ruins it.
When Flats gets to his "not fair" diatribe, he makes solid points in general; except that Team Fortress 2 was Steams biggest earner around the time Overwatch came out, in just it's cosmetics, but the game was still pretty much abandoned with only a development team of about 6-8 to work on events, balancing and content. When TF2's Pyro update came out, 2 years after OW released, the game was revitalized and still a top earner for Steam. but since Steam promotes innovation rather than popularity, the development team stayed the same size. Steam could have let go of it's hold rights like they did with CSGO, instead they milked the fans and let the game corrupt and fade (though still not dead, even with Deadlocks arrival.)
TITANFALL REFRENCED 300 LIKES ON THE VID MUST MEAN TITANFALL 3 IS COMING OUT CONFIRMED!! (fr though play titanfall 2 its so gas if u like fast u love this game)
Tf2 lives purely off the fact that its the only decent arena shooter with a player base. The reason that people stuck with tf2 rather than moving to ow i think is movement compared to tf2 ow feels slow and floaty. Example being juckrat mine jumping vs demoman sticky jumping air control in ow is omni directional and does not require air strafe but is slow while one sticky jump can send demo across an entire map in seconds at the cost of health and needing to air strafe to control you movement. Mine jumping is much easier as the arc on the mine is a lot more forgiving than trying to air pogo as demo. You just need to memorize the angle you need to shoot the sticky at and the timing
nah you haven't played the titanfall 2 campaign? you gotta play it. I know you love a good story campaign and titanfall 2s is legit one of the best ever made, even rivaling behemoths like Halo.
Game of Thrones was not good for most of the series. It had 4 great seasons and then a steep slide downhill. People hate on the finale because that was the moment people knew for a fact that the payoff wouldn't be worth it.
I do not understand why flats sees overwatch getting better simply because he isn't seeing the same level of dogshit as the original dev team doesn't mean this dev team has been much better i mean look at the new heroes added the amount of heroes and balance as well as the level of balance
I gave up on overwatch the stupid buffs and nerfs the lack of new content, im just currently waiting for marvel rivals. Overwatch really made me enjoy pvp but that pasion is gone and its just irritation and pain when i touch overwatch
Bf:bc1&2 fans 😓 but they're shutting off BF3 and I never seen a single active lobby even tho I was down to do some achievements before closure. So bad company fans probably woulda been hurting regardless of those weren't already shut down. lol
Quiet believing that Steam only does games to test push new tech, where was the new tech in Artifact ? Valve now days got lazy because they get all the money they need out of the Steam store front, so why bother doing anything. I used to love Portal and played it hundreds of times but we never got Portal 3 , so I moved on I think you should do the same. Also the music they are singing is form Portal not from TF2.
Titanfall 2's campaign is extremely overrated. The AI is extremely simplistic and wallrunning is underutilized. The set pieces are kinda cool but ultimately hollow. The Titans kill the pacing.
Hot Take. Titanfall 2 campaign is MASSIVELY OVERRATED. Don't he me wrong, it's good. But I think it stands out mostly in comparison to bad Fps stories. I would argue that Titanfall 2's story is what you should expect fron an fps story, but not groundbreaking
Fun facts for tf2: 1) the bot problem did not last a few months, it's been almost 8 years. 2) The bot problem has not been solves, last year a minor patch was release and a bunch were banned, but after a few months the game went back to unplayable. 3) Team Fortress 2 is one of the greatest games ever made, and overwatch is its spiritual successor. And it's a shame to see that both games are in near disrepair, with the only thing keeping them together being their communities. Personally, I don't put time into a game unless it's absolutely worth it. And to game devs who want to neglect their projects, fine, I'll neglect them too, there's more games out than ever before, and more content to fill my life with, that's worth it. I hope other players learn my sentiment, and start neglecting their games too, Kill the old game companies, bring in the new ones who actually want to make player bases happy!
I honestly thought some of the takes were kinda cringe and uninformed. Tired of people being entitled to every piece of content they enjoy being an infinite live service. There isnt enough creative energy in the world to feed the demand of all these different ravenous fanbases, who are usually ungrateful when things start to dip in quality a tiny bit anyways. Valve is a relatively small studio, people always assume because they have an infinite money stream from Steam that they are a massive team. Just a few days ago it was found out from the HL2 documentary that they had to stop working on HL2 ep 3 to finish Left 4 Dead and start Portal 2. Both of which are some of the best games ever made. I certainly wouldn't want to live in a world where Valve didnt persue innovative and creative efforts to make a derivative sequel that they had no new ideas for just because the fans were whining for them to finish the story.
the bots have been gone since the summer update, just this past halloween it has been the first screamfortress in YEARS without bots flooding into casual matches to ruin the holiday fun

I cannot fathom being so big into hero shooters and having never played TF2
That game was so seminal to me as a person that I genuinely can't imagine my life if I hadn't fallen in love with it
10:27 this is what i call, the peak of Brainrot😂😂🤣🤣. I'm here for it lmao
Team Fortress gets years of support from its release in 07 to 15 and is a hugely successful franchise and the devs declare themselves finished
Team Fortress 2 fans: WHY DOES VALVE IGNORE THEIR GAMES??????
It's kind of crazy to say this considering the infamous cheater bot epidemic that the game was left to languish from for years until very recently.
hey we got support until 2018 with the final major update jungle inferno so, like 3 more years than your estimation
So until another game has a button that lets you just die, nothing's beating tf2 for me.
at the end of the day, the fans are what keeps the games alive
A couple of other games kept alive by their communities are Evolve and Spellbreak. Check them out!
This made me think of the Burnout series as well, and Burnout has been an amazing game and as much as the community wants another game, we agreed that we’d rather have the franchise die where it is than get a terrible game that ruins it.
you mean like overwatch?
Ow2 isnt getting as much hate now cause all the people that wanted it to get better became apathetic and left for good
Deadlock is peak, but I still love tf2 and wish they would update it
When Flats gets to his "not fair" diatribe, he makes solid points in general; except that Team Fortress 2 was Steams biggest earner around the time Overwatch came out, in just it's cosmetics, but the game was still pretty much abandoned with only a development team of about 6-8 to work on events, balancing and content.
"kept these games alive" it's so niche that mostly noone has ever hard of any of all of that.
0:20 WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU
I think that Flats should watch some of the Team Fortress 2 cinematics and try streaming the game.
I wanna see flats react to the "meet the team" videos and both parts of overwatch vs tf2
We need to get flats to watch emesis blue. It's not just a tf2 movie, it's actually good. A genuine 8.5-9/10 if not higher, depending on preference
FLATS TITANFALL STREAM, I BEG YOU!!!!!
Maybe even multiplayer
You should 100% play through the story of Titanfall 2 on stream !!!!
Rip Slycooper
Petition to have flats try out titanfall 2, that would be so fun ✨
Tf2 will still outlive overwatch 2
TITANFALL 2 MENTIONED!!
Would love to see ya play titanfall 2, it's short too.
FLATS!! you should reaaaaalllyyy hop on tf2 and give it a shot. or watch the animated shorts. or both!! you'd love it.
Tf2 never dies, till this day. I'm still a fan🫡
You should try playing tf2 for a video. I think the premise is pretty funny.
React on Meet The Team. We are waiting.
Flats needs to play TF2
I gave up on overwatch the stupid buffs and nerfs the lack of new content, im just currently waiting for marvel rivals. Overwatch really made me enjoy pvp but that pasion is gone and its just irritation and pain when i touch overwatch
poor BF1 fans 😓
Bf:bc1&2 fans 😓 but they're shutting off BF3 and I never seen a single active lobby even tho I was down to do some achievements before closure. So bad company fans probably woulda been hurting regardless of those weren't already shut down. lol
This is us
PLEASE PLAY TITANFALL 2!!!!!!!!!
Overwatch classic is nearly copy paste tf2
Hot Take. Titanfall 2 campaign is MASSIVELY OVERRATED.
Don't he me wrong, it's good. But I think it stands out mostly in comparison to bad Fps stories.
I would argue that Titanfall 2's story is what you should expect fron an fps story, but not groundbreaking
Fun facts for tf2:
1) the bot problem did not last a few months, it's been almost 8 years.
I hope other players learn my sentiment, and start neglecting their games too, Kill the old game companies, bring in the new ones who actually want to make player bases happy!
try Titanfall 2
Yeah, the video was pretty pointless. Fans aren't keeping the two TF2s alive. They just refuse to let go of their corpses.
Aoe2 anyone?
Her video is aged too. Assuming that Rick May was part of those irl skits, he passed away during the height of covid.
rocket league
TF2 the bots community, you cant get in a game that is not full of bots
Valve did a mass ban wave recently, its playable now.
the bots have been gone since the summer update, just this past halloween it has been the first screamfortress in YEARS without bots flooding into casual matches to ruin the holiday fun
calling Deadlock innovative is laughable
Your opinion doesnt really matter because its mixed playerbase sounds it clearly is
would like to say more honkai star rail/honkai impact 3rd/ zenless reaction if you can thanks
