It may not be dead, but after playing almost daily for years, it’s been two months since I’ve played. And I don’t miss it. I can’t imagine I’m the only one
I stopped playing after bo3 , I went threw a rough patch in life so I missed everything up till mw2 2022. When I finally got my own place with Internet bought a PS5 and I haven't stopped playing as someone who missed the release of warzone 1 . I have had hella fun on both wz2 and wz3 with 3 being way better . Ups and downs but I still have t stopped and don't see myself stopping anytime soon

Bro deadass imma be real. I have activision in more than one way, their support system is one of the worst ever in gaming history. My account literally got hacked and they emailed me saying “ we cannot further investigate this since you have to wait 12 months” or some shit. So yeah mw3 was my last cod

@@JyroPyro multiplayer wise yes totally the game was mid compared to what else we had (MW2, BO2, etc) but the campaign was actually a fire story its one of my fav campaigns of all time
Ghost is the dark horse of the entire cod series, this game evolved cod. You could customize what your soldier looked liked, celebrity voice overs, guns that had multiple conversions(maverick ar/sniper and the ripper are/smg) maps that changed and unique killstreaks (Michael myers and the predator) not to mention extinction was perfect
The cranked game mode was great. I enjoyed extinction as well
It had the best class system. But other than that it was horrible. In pretty much every way.
So all the shit that makes cod trash. What an evolution...

Yes you are right that it isn't literally "dead" but in terms of being a triple A game and only getting declining player counts, it is a dead game, its not even competing with its rivals anymore.
All due with 3 things
1. It had its perfect momentum in pandemic era which caused more players to play and stay in house but sadly went away after 2020
2.The games were becoming mid after mid after Cold War.
3.BTS on the game making and leaks which already spoiled so many people but their fanbase always complaining about "sbmm" or smth

I think ghost had the nicest atmosphere in maps. The maps just looked and felt so nice.

Its a good video breaking down COD's past, present, and future. Little details he missed though, like not including Blackout (COD's first BR), MW@(2022)'s negative reception, and having the modern warfare 3 (2023)'s being taken over by Sledgehammer once again. Pretty solid video overall. I remember hearing about the drama with Jason and Vince vs Activision and thinking none of it since I was little.

You guys forget one thing; CODs survival at the start is probably linked to Halo. Max Hobberman ( Bungie/ Halo ) and the engineers created FPS as you know it today for console. 2 weapon loadout instead of a weapon wheel. Dedicated grenade button. Configurable controls. Leaderboards. Friend lists. Party systems. He refers to it as a the virtual couch. Before this it was just chat rooms. Take away what Max, Halo, and Xbox did for Xbox live JUST for Halo and I’m not sure Cod survives other than maybe its campaign. And let’s be honest.. how many people care about campaign like we used to?

In case people don't know, Treyarch was forced to make those World War 2 games (or any game of a past era or make a future era game) because infinity ward solely held the rights to all "Modern era" Call of Duty titles. That is why they never put out a modern shooter. Now, I haven't followed along for some time now, so I don't know if those contracts have expired but at least in the past that is why they were always forced to do something different than infinity ward.
I loved Ghosts. And it has the second best MP behind MW2.

God I wish we could’ve lived in a world where IW didn’t fall apart during MW2, apparently they had a patch ready to nerf OMAD Tubes, Commando Lunges, and some other bull shit before they got fired, such a shame. MW3 was kinda like a nerfed MW2, so I wonder what that original team could’ve done with MW3 if they never broke up, bummer.
I am on the team that likes ghost as well, probably the best time for Competitive COD, League Play BO2 was the best ranked play in history, but Ghost made Comp COD blow up like crazy
I never played modern warfare I had already graduated and was running around 18 years old, it took a couple more years for me to get into MW2

Cold War was one of the top 5 best Call Of Duty games all around great campaign, multiplayer and zombies. Just needed more maps on launch snd and right when it started getting there Vanguard came out and killed it.
For every person who may be tired of Call of Duty there is always going to be a young kid playing for the first time out there and they will play for years until they get tired of it.

When games like COD have their resurgence around 2020 (no pun) its fun but when covid times are over and bad games and updates that can kill the reputation it used to had so thats why COD is really low, even with WZM.

Bro, not even a baseball guy and Moneyball is great, I had no idea that guy who plays Steve Schott was actually the former CEO of Activision. Its a GREAT movie to have on in the background, easy going, chill, worth a watch.
The way I see it, they should start doing a MW title (current settings, fast paced play, modern weapons) Black Ops Titles (past or future but still boots on the ground. Exploring different positions in the past and possible future conflicts, more methodical gameplay. And finally, and Advanced Warfare series. For the people that still want the advanced movement, crazy stories, and a hodgepodge of everything. Make that the 3-year cycle, and if the title you prefer didn’t hit as hard, try out last years or wait for the next years. It gives each series a large life cycle, different types of play for different people, and they can continue battle pass and seasons for all three. More money!
They say it’s not dead cuz they still have so many people playin, but if you compare the amount of people started playing call of duty MW 2019 and the people playing today, there will be a big number difference

I am one of the 5 Call Of Duty Ghosts Lovers. Id go as far as to say its in the Top 5 Call Of Duty's of all time!
I like how he said the franchise was dying from ghosts until MW reboot which just isn’t true. They were still breaking sales records every game. In fact, in 2016 when IW caught a lot of slack and hate while BF1 was adored, they still outsold it. COD has just always done well, IMO the difference now is it has no competition in the AAA space, so it just continues to soar.
Its so weird that Tim is only 3-4years younger than me, but 20 years less educated. And hes a millionaire making 15k bets over his friends streaming hours, and im locked in a house taking care of my paraplegic mom.

A lot of people forget that ghosts was the console switch game back in the day. People disliked it before it came out and many struggled to play on old gen. As such a lot of people stuck with BO2 and shit on ghosts despite barely playing or not playing it at all. There’s a reason a lot is misremembered about ghosts and why tons of features from ghosts have become popular in future games.
Tim Ghost was awesome. That game introduced search and rescue and I’ve never had more fun with the boys

I feel like, at least the last handful of years, I've just bought the one that comes out, just so I have something to play and grind for a few months... then I just uninstall and completely forget about it. At least until the next one. Get the camo's, complete a battle pass or two, and just forget about it.
Idk. I’m old. I’m 50. I started out with the original Counter Strike in college. And I realize that COD is an arena shooter. But you almost have to be at a pro level to win a game in any mode. So I walked away from it about a year ago. I tried Insurgency Sandstorm. I like it. But it was glitchy on my PS4. So nowadays I just watch Doc and Timmy.
Fun fact: the Coke at mcdonalds taste so much better because they keep it in a giant metal container to keep it fresh. As where the other drinks are just kept in bags that flow into the drink machine.

That metal container is the carbonation. It still has syrup, just like the rest of them.

just to hammer it in COD Ghost is the reason why I Quit COD because it was so bad. I only came back for MWII because of the hype/nostalgia and the rumored 2 year cycle plus Halo infinite, Battlefiled 2042 where hot garbage and I needed a arcade or arena shooter to keep me busy.
I'm actually surprised Tim didnt know about the Vince and Jason thing, one of the reason, I never played MW3, In my mind it wasnt the real IW.

No matter what I did, I somehow couldn't get away from it.
Like in a toxic relationship, you hoped that CoD would get better again.
(Of course, that never happened because money is more important than developing a good game).
At some point I made the leap and I have to be honest:
I don't need CoD anymore. There are tons of shooter games that are not only much better, but also more fun.

GHOST is an amazing game… I was addicted to the Extinction mode too (I was in college at that point in time).
Dude I loved Ghosts. I loved Castle and I loved the Halloween events and the perks.
There was a lot he didn't cover. WAW was the first zombies. B02 was the first of the futuristic games and first real easter egg zombies. Ppl still play BO3 custom zombies, he kinda skipped over Mason and Woods being old time Soap and Price. He skipped Blackout being the first BR. Ghost had a alien mode that was cool but they canned that whole thing in the franchise. And I'm sure a he skipped over a few other things I'm not remembering.

Ghost was amazing! 💯% I wish the aliens mode was a little better but, it was amazing. It had bigger multiplayer maps that felt like you were playing a Battle Royale.🔥 I am sucking it off a lot here but, the story / mechanic / guns / customization / gameplay everything was awesome. 💪🏆 I just wish that they would have expanded on the aliens mode a little bit more. 🤙
Goose I like the name lmfao! That’s the best way to describe COD never thought of it as a Formula. Style + feeling + reskin besides the menu they put more man hrs in that then they gave Blackout the chance to succeed and to me I really miss blackout.

Any game that lasts 10 years as a multiplayer game is never going anywhere it’s a beloved hallmark in gaming. We will simply hate the shitty releases but there are no games that can properly compete or mainly kill cod.
Madden, 2K, Halo.. etc. they go nowhere ever.

And then there was streamers who made content on how to play a game how to set up the game that doesn't work for regular player because they don't use cronos to make their gun shoot straight but these are the ones you need to be using or telling you these are the controller settings that you need to be using when they purchased cheats to make themselves look better
In 2007 I was playing Rainbow Six Vegas because I saw COD as the game people with no skill, played. It just took more skill in R6V and R6V2 than any COD game around the time

Ghost was so underrated i had so much fun with it.
Cause COD is always fun even if it's bad sometimes. Very excited to see Xbox put all COD's into GP with updated MP lobbies. Imagine jumping between all of them with your friends. Now that it's under MS/Xbox they will all be play anywhere with cross save, cross play. It's gonna be lit!
