      The only expensive luxury off road vehicles I would actually take off road are the lexus 4x4 and the Mercedes G wagon. Everything else just isn't reliable enough to take off road without worrying too much about things breaking (and expensive repairs)
      Our family had an LX570 from 2008. It lasted a very long time and was a beast off road

    As a RZR owner and Moab regular, I can say I am DAMN impressed to see these big vehicles take on that trail (and MANY other difficult trails in Moab, UT). Watching on video doesn't do it justice at all, as when you are in your vehicle/machine there are plenty of times you're looking straight down at the ground or straight up at the sky teetering on two wheels. Watching on video makes it look MUCH easier than it really is! Props to anyone willing to test their skills and easily roll their expensive rides, no matter what it is your driving!

    I really don't understand people. How do people's brains work (or lack thereof) when they feel like they need to bash someone for owning a different vehicle than they have! People here are talking as though they gave birth to Jeeps, Land Rovers, Toyotas... It's a freaking vehicle, it's not a family member or you'r mother! YOUR ego, capabilities as a person and pride shouldn't be tied to a machine, unless you designed it, engineered, R&D and manufactured it all on your own. Not even the car engineers themselves would be behaving like this! GET A LIFE PEOPLE. If you like off roading, then enjoy watching it no matter what the car is.

    • @steinwaygrande3971
      @steinwaygrande3971 8 років тому

      +bluesky I totally agree with you 100 % I am sick of the bickering that goes on and also on the back of the big four wheel drives in Australia I often a sticker on the rear window that says : " Nissan recovery vehicle " or Toyota recovery vehicle . I find that very annoying as I own both makes and the Toyota with its big diesel is my tow car for when we go away on holiday. But I never ridicule someone else,s vehicle as its their car and they chose it. If they bring up the subject of 4x4 vehicles I down play the crap and just exchange ideas and other matters related to our respective vehicles.

    • @cwehbe
      @cwehbe 8 років тому +2

      Steinwaygrande I agree. I love watching and hearing about all off road vehicles and off roading activity, no matter what kind or where the location. People tend to feel special when bash someone else. So sad.

    lol...great job! I love to see stock vehicles out on Hell's Revenge. I've been out there with stock jeeps that didn't do so well. We had a buddy in a stock Nissan extera that couldn't make it over that first small hill before the first fin. So hats off to you all!

  • @kunzmj
    @kunzmj  9 років тому +1338

    Why is there so much hate from the Jeep community? You don't typically see that kind of hate from the Land Rover community on Jeep videos. There's even hate coming from LR Defender owners. WTF? If anything, this should excite you that people in a different brand or model, one that is typically restricted to mall parking lots, are enjoying offroading and using their vehicles capabilities to have some fun.
    Nowhere in this video was it claimed that Land Rovers were superior to other vehicles or that this was the hardest trail out there. It's simply a fun video to show people enjoying and using their Land Rovers for what they were designed to do. Lighten up everyone.

    • @KnightShadey

      kunzmj Alot of the reaction is due to the opening statement "not for stock vehicles".
      Regardless of what the brochure says, it's obviously untrue, and that's what's inviting/motivating much of the reactions/comments.

    • @kunzmj

      KnightShadey Agreed, it's obviously untrue because a caravan of stock Land Rovers did it just fine. That's why the statement is in "quotations". But at the same time, I didn't say "not for Jeeps". Everyone knows a Jeeps are great offroad vehicles that would do just fine on this trail.

I said it's nice to see someone using this car for what it's supposed to be used for.... and yes they are expensive vehicles a new model lr4 is around 60k. to go off roading in a 60k car is ballsie which I thought was pretty cool that this person would do. now I live in the bay area of California so when I see a range rover they are around 80 to 100k with what people buy fully loaded. this is one I was looking to buy but not with 32k miles on a land rover www.carmax.com/enus/view-car/2013-Land-Rover-Range-Rover-Sport-12327626.html

      ***** Sorry bud, I would take an Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited (JK) over a Range Rover any day. It would beat your Range Rover for half the price. Don't get me wrong I like Range Rover, very nice vehicles, but its not the best offroad vehicle straight off the factory floor.

    • @simeonbairaktaris4092
      @simeonbairaktaris4092 9 років тому +2

      ***** Not to bash on the range rover or the land rover, but there is a number of factory vehicles that easily surpass it. Mercedes G class military ("wolf") Toyota land cruiser (older series though, like the 75 still in production) toyota hilux, mazda bt50/b2500 among them, many of the old 4x4 like the mitsubishy pajero, suzuki samurai etc.
      The jeep wranglers too, but i dont consider them reliable....
      Basically the newer the 4x4 model, the worse its offroad capability, in most cases sadly....

      ***** Have you seen the new model 2013/2015 I think Isn't or exist a machine more capable for its ability in offroad and 4x4 facilities system .Also I don't know a off road cars which can accelerate from 0 to 100km / h in 5 seconds like new Range Rover V 12
      Does not exist a car like Range Rover Vogue which can be so performance in luxury or off road also in speed !And sorry Taylor ,but Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited look like shit in comparison with Range! ¤ ¤

      Monique Benote You may not like the looks of the Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, thats perfectly ok. Personal Choice. But when it comes to performance / price. Your RR is just and Overpriced SUV. Like I said earlier, I like RRs but I would take a wrangler over it anyday for offroading. You can't beat the performance of a stock JKU Rubicon for the price point with your RR.

      @alexandergilana6018 9 років тому

      Londons Finest Oh most definitely, but what do you say about the Jeep Grand Cherokees air suspension that it comes with it higher end models?

    • @londonsfinest5624
      @londonsfinest5624 9 років тому +4

      Alexander Gilana I don't know, I think its the character of a Range Rover. The interior is far nicer, wood, soft oxford leather seats. Soft dash. Most people don't expect a Range Rover to be amazing off road, because not everyone is a off-road enthusiast. But a Jeep is always expected to be amazing off road.

    • @alexandergilana6018
      @alexandergilana6018 9 років тому +1

      I agree, except for the part of the dash.... Jeep has its leather stitched dash, and real wood going around the bottom of it. If I could ever afford one though, you bet I would have it.

      I think they do that so that newbs who just bought their first 4x4 don't go out and get messed up. You remember when SUVs first got popular and everyone was buying them and going into the woods for the first time? Remember how they were all painted bright, vibrant colours from the factory? That was so they were easy to spot from the rescue chopper when Garry from Accounting got his family lost on the back roads.
      And yeah, here's the Crown Vic.

    Awesome video goes to show how capable a stock LR can be, About the haters, I do not own an LR but used to own a Jeep GC, the. bottom line is, at the end of the day of a hard off-roading, you can stop by a car wash on your way to a fancy restaurant and they will park your rig in the front along the Mercs, Lambs and all of those cars, Mine was parked blocks from it or in an alley..... :)
    Enjoy your ride and adventures bud,

    I looked at buying a couple of Land Rovers, one LR3 only had 50,000 miles on it but the rear air bags and compressors were shot, the rear differential was clicking, and it had a number of other issues. Then I looked a 2006 V8 Range Rover. It was the classic Land Rover buy as the owners had turned it in after the 6 year extended warranty expired, a dealer bought it at auction for this woman at about 1/2 the original price and in the 4 years she had owned she had spent $8,400 in repairs and was trying to get $12,000 for a car that originally cost about 5 times that. I have talked to other LR owners and $2,000 / year in repairs is the norm. I must admit though, they are nice rigs .
