This is the sixth and final video of my video MODOK tutorial series. In this video series, I aim to give a comprehensive breakdown on how to play MODOK in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Incredible tutorial I’m trying to learn modok after all these years but I can see you really led the way for people using this character. Tournament players play exactly like this even now.

Dude I had just come Marvel trying out Modok and I said to myself man it would be awesome if I had something to go off of to learn him better as I was looking for a character to add to my Morrigan and Doom. Or even a test team to use seriously at my locals!, thank you so much. I will be sure to learn from these. ^^
Thanks! Haggar and gold Hsien are both great get off me assists for Dok and they both provide more or less the same utility as combo extenders (though Lariat does cause a soft knockdown, making it nicer for jamming bombs). They both have some interesting synergy with Dok too. Haggar can make use of the Dok THC for combo extensions (see Bulbamike's play). Hsien can get gold armor and do gong into hard tag out after a HPB hits. I'd go with whatever one you're more comfortable with.
I think the main thing you want to focus on is playing a dominant ground game and forcing that ground game. The reason is to simply snipe the Doom missiles assist calls with blasters. Since these situations are hard to control in general, in your case, you probably want to rush down as much as possible and either KO Magneto or snap in Doom. It's a hard matchup, but it's doable.

EYE OF AVOCADO! XD Great tutorials man, I'm definetely gonna start picking up MODOK and I've actually thought of using him with Hsien-ko already before this :p I do think that Haggar might be the one I end up using as a "Get off me!" assist though. What do you think of that? =]

It works decently for neutral and in shorter combos for Dok. I think Dok prefers Log Trap though.
I'm not sure if it's any use in neutral, but I think it's at least decent for combos. Search "modok rom" and the first result will have an example of the assist used in a combo (at least I think it's that assist).

really trying to learn modook but wat usually screws me over is doing his weird combos online and his movement stillgoing to try to become a decent modok at least :) his fun to use
Storm unfortunately doesn't have any really good assists for MODOK. I wouldn't choose Lightning Attack. The other two are a bit awkward to use, but I would probably go with her Whirlwind assist. That can help with a keepaway game and pushing opponents back. None of them are really good for combo extension though.

So you mean you are having trouble moving around with MODOK? Just go into training mode and practice stuff like cr.H, jump, adf, j.M and super jumping and airdashing around with j.L, j.M, or j.S. j.L is nice when your opponent is close, j.M is nice when you are farther away or for getting some space from your opponent, and j.S is nice when you are in a position to possibly cross up your opponent from above.
hey sup im playing viper modok strider, do you have any tips for dealing with modok vs missiles+magneto it seems really unwinnable especially with no chicken blocking and during neutral game i feel kinda weak with just vajra any suggestions without switching teams?
