    I didn't realise you lived in Leicester! I've only just found your channel! It's good to follow that your local. I live in market harborough now but I still see friends in Leicester! The sue rider next to the train station is only £1 for clothes and there's a animal rescue charity shop off London road that's also cheap!!

      Im Leicestershire technically but Leicester is the nearest city! I used to love that sue Ryder but haven't been in a while, and I didn't know there was an animal rescue shop! I am hoping at some point to film a charity shop crawl and haul around the city centre so ill have to put them on the list!

    I love a lush soft PJ.
    Hope your follow-up visit didn't leave you as low energy as the last one, and that it when well.
    I read The Night Circus 🎪 ... I don't feel she's an author for me. At the time I didn't DNF... I do it more often now. It's just good self care to dnf books.

    I cant say on here what i think of social services but i looked after mum and dad untill they passed. I took 6 months off work and applying for carers allowance was so very difficult i gave up. I was more than happy to care for my parents and don’t regret a thing but I desperately needed a little financial support x

      @booksandbargains  9 місяців тому

      Thank you, In my case it wasn't necessarily the financial support I needed it was more along the lines of knowing what to do if we needed emergency care etc and it seems like the answer is if its Monday to Friday 9 to 5 we can help ...

    Have you tried contacting your local carers centre? most countys have them and in my experience they're fantastic at backing your side when social services can be a bit crap. It was helpful for me to learn how services like that "want" to be talked to? It's like they have key words that make them listen, which is awful but heyho... sending love x

    That social services woman is a moron and I’m sorry she made you feel shit!
    I could have predicted you’d DNF The Night Circus, it’s a weird one!
    Love you and your pjs - I might have to get a matching set! 😂💛

    So sorry to hear about the social services phonecall. As someone who has been through the benefits system in the past, I unfortunately know how awful it is and how condescending they can be.
    I loved the Cornish Cream Tea Bookshop, haven't read the other one yet. Sorry to hear you dnf'd the Night Circus, but totally get that it's not for everyone.
    I'm currently reading Welcome to Rosie Hopkins' Sweet Shop of Dreams by Jenny Colgan. I'm enjoying it, loving the old-fashioned sweet descriptions, but some of the fat-shaming comments make my toes curl 🙈

      Thank you! I used to love Jenny Colgan but I don't read her anymore because the fat shaming was relentless xx

    The PJs are lush. Sorry that the Carer's Assessment didn't go that well, you shouldn't have to justify everything you do as a carer and Social Services should be there to support your needs. It can be very stressful being a carer, I care for my 96 year old Mum while I live with Epilepsy. Hope the scan results are. I'm not surprised The Night Circus wasn't your thing. Great vlog as always ❤

    I love your pjs. But sadly that pattern isn’t in petite(which frustrates me). Can’t believe that women, I’m a carer for my 64 year old mum who has fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, back problems, carpal tunnel and tennis albow and has been in more pain the last few months. She still drives, but has her bad days(I don’t) and the money we get allows us to have the heating, electricity and water. These people don’t know what it’s like to be us

      Thank you! The thing is nana has had two really serious falls in the last few years and countless others and so needs supervision when walking and she's very strong willed so when she had carers at home they were really unsuitable for her because in between shed just get up so it was either move her in with us or a care home which I know would have been detrimental to her mental health

    the lady from the Carer’s Assessment team sounds useless! baffled by these small minded attitudes, particularly in roles that are meant to be all encompassing of our diverse society. so disheartening 💔
