Thank you guys for another amazing tutorial/video. Actually this is the only video I got an answer for my unasked question - every other videos about a full cleaning, decontamination and then protection and I wanted to know what for we are ceramic/graphen coating our vehicles if we need to apply the additional protection like spray ceramic which is (from their descriptions) can be standalone protection for several months. Ivan, thank you again for answering this question, maybe you also have some statistics/examples of regularly maintained just with rinseless wash the ceramic coated vehicles (Let's say rinseless wash weekly and water spots/iron remover 1 time per season) how long can a ceramic coat shows all its pros in such case?
Great video ! In another short one , you were holding the 2 bottles , you said to use Iron remover before the Spot remover , any reason we did the opposite here ? Many thanks 🙏🏻
It doesn’t make a big difference, I prefer to use the Perforated Synthetic Decontamination Towel and DIY Detail Iron Remover as lube first if there’s heavy water spotting. The Perforated Synthetic Decontamination Towel removes the minerals on the surface.
WOW.. I have been watching a lot of your videos and this one is so awesome. As a newbie of course I have several questions so please hang with me: If you are going to use the foam as lube to wash.. do you need the bucket of suds? I see you use iron remover on windows.. what about plastic trim? Are you drying, spray ceramic gloss then wipe or spraying the gloss on the wet surface then drying Final question, I don't have a garage and always work in a shade.. but I assume I would not leave on foam etc. sitting on the car quite as long as you did. Thanks!!!!!
If doing a 2 foam wash, a bucket is optional. DIY Detail Iron Remover is safe on all exterior surfaces. As long as it doesn’t dry on the surface, you’re fine.

to chim in on what Yvan said about the paint from auto body shops not being the same as OEM, its because when the factory paints the cars its just the body, there is not suspension, interior or engine, when they cure it they can back it at a much higher temperature with having to worry about the plastics melting from the heat, body shops can only back the paint at 400F so the paint and clearcoat never get to the same hardness level as the factory paint
Great video - a lot of details and direct tips, but still I have one question. Most if not all of such tutorials assumes/advices putting "some product to restore hydrophobic properties" as last step. That rises the question what happens if such booster is not applied? We all know that proper servicing of coating is crucial but still i have doubts if that additional booster "restores" origin coating properties or just adds its "own hydrophobic layer" in fact not restoring anything from underlying layer. Restore means restore not adding own "masking layer". What is the truth? Will I have same protection just applying such booster (short lasting ceramic "layer") frequent enough?
In our case it’s not required. Some coatings calculate their longevity using a topper every 6-12 months, not our case. There’s nothing wrong with using one, it will simply extend the usable life of the coating indefinitely. By themselves the toppers provide hydrophobics, but they do not offer the level of chemical resistance a true coating has.
@@diydetailofficial Thanks - so the point is that hydrophobic properties of some (?) coatings may diminish over time and regular topper application keeps hydrophobity at certain level but in such case it is thanks to topper. In the same time topper does not give such strong chemical resistance as proper coating. Right? Second: what do you mean "In our case it’s not required"?
Great great video guys! I just applied my 3 year coating yesterday which was super easy and fun! How long do I have to wait to apply QuickBeads and Ceramic Gloss to a fresh coating? Thanks guys!
Ugh! Was literally looking everywhere for an “all purpose cleaner on ceramic coated cars” video. Question: All-Clean is step 1. Can I follow this with Rinseless as step 2 WITHOUT using a hose? So all-clean in my multipro 2, followed by rinseless spray down, followed by rinselss bucket wash? When should I add the waterspot remover if NO hose is used? Very harsh and salty winter is coming, and I don’t want to freeze my pipes.
Thanks guys!! Im pretty sure my coating is missing the water spot remover. I ordered a bottle of it and the tree sap remover because i have road tar from a lot of summer highway driving
When you use only air you potentially leave a film of minerals or soap residue on the car. Drying with a quality towel and drying aid leaves a better finish.
Is it worth while to stack the 3 year on the metal coating for chrome and aluminum? Or is it a marginal increase at best as far as water spot resistance, hydrophobic properties, slickness and self cleaning abilities are concerned?
If I have hard water right from my hose at home, wouldn’t it make more sense to do the acidic the last step prior to iron decon? Or maybe even after iron decon. So it’ll be. do any ceramic coating products layer (or stack) on top of each other? Or do you always have to high-speed polish off the old ceramic coating before you add a new one? Because you get to this awkward stage where you paid good money for a coating but eventually the water's no longer beading and the coating is half gone...
My car is ceramic coated, and I live in a condo without hose access or pressure washer. I primarily use rinseless wash with my IK multi pro 2 and UBS, how can I implement the APC and Iron remover without negatively (staining, degradation) affecting my ceramic coated car since I can't thoroughly rinse it off with a hose? I must say I’m a total noob to this but after almost pulling the trigger on products that cost way more than yours from another you tuber I asked myself why? If I’m a beginner, and there are products designed for people like me that costs way less but provides superior performance, then why spend more? Utilizing your product lineup I pre foamed and washed with your rinseless wash, decontaminated with your iron remover, and synthetic decontamination towel. I panel prepped. I overcame my fear of using a random orbital polisher, while utilizing your pad and polish. At this stage my vehicle was glossy and beyond smooth. Towel sliding down the window smooth. Very glass like, slippery. I opened up your 8yr coating and after putting way too many drops on the applicator I started to ceramic coat. I did have a couple high spots but that was my fault and was so easily fixed. It went from a rainbow look to almost clear and I leveled and buffed dry. Is my paint perfect? No..I have nicks etc on the front and you can see slight imperfections only when you light it or if you’re staring at a panel in the sun. But just in passing no one would see it. My god….ive never seen this car so glossy. During the first rain, I didn’t have to use my wipers and the beading…they looked like diamonds all over my car. Clear and shiny beads almost evenly distributed all over the car. Once I accelerated the water would just come off the panels. After buying the whole product line and the polisher and IK sprayers it was still almost half what I paid for the coating on my other car and the feeling of knowing I did the work is awesome. Thank you for delivering such a high quality product line, that a beginner can use and feel confident enough to produce stellar results.
i am confused on how often we should be using Quick Beads and Ceramic Gloss? If i wash once or twice a month, when do you use which? my car lives outside, fyi.
You can use either/or every wash without problem. It comes down to preference (do you like spray on, rinse off? Or spray on and wipe?) And what smell do you prefer?
Good info guys. My new car will be delivered in June. Toyota yaris GR-sport in total black. The car is brand new incl. a ceramic coating. Can I buy your chemicals here somewhere in The Netherlands? If not,....what do you recommend to.use to keep my car as new as possible? Greetings from The Netherlands.
Hey guys, can you give me a recommendation for my recently ceramic coated car. About three weeks ago, I went thru all the steps, Bug & tar remover, Iron removal Decon, Clay bar, mechanical polish both Compound & polish, then IPA, then coated my car with a ceramic coating. It looks Great but I then took it on a road trip for a week and almost daily I used Bug/Tar remover to get the bugs off the front, Now I'm wondering the proper steps if i want to re-coat the front end and possibly lower side panels. I'm hoping I can do this with some leftover ceramic coating I have to better prepare this for winter conditions & coat the areas that are the most affected by road use. Could I wash the car well, use Iron remover again after 3 weeks, IPA wipe, & recoat some areas (mostly the front) without any issues? Any other suggestions or recommendations to further lengthen the ceramic coating? Thank you
Does all clean have to foam to get the best results? Could you dilute all clean in a garden sprayer to the correct ratio and achieve just a good results?
I have never ceramic coated a vehicle but have used ceramic gloss regularly. In your opinion, when washing a vehicle can you notice the slickness and easy clean with ceramic gloss vs a professional 3/5/7 year coating?
Is it possible to polish by hand? This is after I wash and clay bar of course. Just curious and trying to learn different things. It almost seems like rubbing compound removes the same thing as a clay bar. I've been doing a tiny bit of experimenting on an old white van
Sadly, on my country there are no way to get your products guys, so, gotta ask, if I use the tag company sponge/synthetic clay alongside with carpro iron remover, will it be safe for a ceramic coating?

For me I keep a bottle of DIY detail rinseless in a spray bottle for my wheels and door jambs. Works perfectly for my EV!
I do too but some reason i would mix up in a bottle instead of just stealing from my fresh wash bucket. Yvan changed that with all his tips and tricks. here is something i can share. i use rinseless as my windshield washer fluid !!!!
Unfortunately if you had paint correction done, they may have over polished the car. This takes the outer layer of the clear coat off, making it easier to scratch.
@@diydetailofficial I watched him do it, did not compound the paint. He did a light polish with an orbital, the car was brand new 300 miles. Almost looks like spider cracks , like it’s the ceramic coating itself is scratching. I let the car sit in a Garege for 2 weeks before I even drove it.

Hello Yvan, what brushes do you reccomend for the tires. All of them. Is there a bundle you reccomend
I like this. diydetail.com/products/flagged-tip-wheel-body-brush
how much do you charge for a job like this ?
And ceramic coat a 2024 Z06 ? doesn't need any paint correction its brand new car
We don’t do detailing for paying customers .
Thank you
What coating?
I installed Gyeon Pure, also Used Turtle wax bug & tar remover and microfiber towel during the trip. @@diydetailofficial
Can I use Iron X with your clay towel? I have a ton of it:)
We haven’t tested it.
Nice. But clay towel doesn't hurt the ceramic coating?
Not at all, the DIYDetail clay towel is non abrasive.
Can I use low nap pearl weave towel for final buff ?
Yes
Nice video. Thats the same color of my Buddies 21 M5
Very cool!
Does all clean have to foam to get the best results? Could you dilute all clean in a garden sprayer to the correct ratio and achieve just a good results?
Yes it will work well. Foaming gives it a little boost.
I have never ceramic coated a vehicle but have used ceramic gloss regularly.
In your opinion, when washing a vehicle can you notice the slickness and easy clean with ceramic gloss vs a professional 3/5/7 year coating?
The big difference will be in chemical resistance.
The apc seems like it really helped out to unclog the coating after Yvan sprayed it on BAM beads where back
Correct
Where can i buy those clear buckets? They look slick.
From your local restaurant supply store 👍
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Is there lube in water spot remover? If not, what is the ideal way to agitate the water spot remover safely?
Use a Rinseless-Wash dampened towel 👍
How much would you charge for a service like that? On that car you have there.
$250-350
@@diydetailofficial thanks guys! 👍🏽
Will that brush scratches the rim?
No
Will iron remover drippings stain my concrete driveway?
No
What kind of sprayer do you use?
We use IK and this keg

So….if a wax gets added and you have streaking and blotchy surfaces after can you do a quick wipe with an ipa,
Yes
The only time you will ever see Yvan spray iron remover like candy 😅
Yes
Does this whole process applicable to vehicles with PPF? Thank you!
Yes.
Is it possible to polish by hand? This is after I wash and clay bar of course. Just curious and trying to learn different things. It almost seems like rubbing compound removes the same thing as a clay bar. I've been doing a tiny bit of experimenting on an old white van
Yes, you can hand polish.
If I want to top off coated vehicle, is there a diff between ceramic gloss and QB?
Here’s a great video we made to address this very question! ua-cam.com/video/dO_LoYRHNRA/v-deo.htmlsi=Foj-Lczq-g3AoBli
Thanks!
You bet!
Does this process eliminate the need to clay bar you vehicle?
The Perforated Synthetic Decontamination Towel replaces clay, but without any abrasives.
What would you use to protect and maintain a matte forged carbon fibre roof? I have a GR corolla circuit edition 🇨🇦
DIY Detail 8 year Ceramic
@@diydetailofficial and this will leave the matte finish?
Yes, take a look at this video

Sadly, on my country there are no way to get your products guys, so, gotta ask, if I use the tag company sponge/synthetic clay alongside with carpro iron remover, will it be safe for a ceramic coating?
I havent tried that combination. What country are you in?
@@diydetailofficial I’m from Mexico, as far as I know there are no dealers selling your product here and on Amazon (where I usually find other detail products through import sellers) have no DIY detail available products
Which foam cannon is that please?
We are using the MJJC
Hey guys, can we use the tar remover as a glue remover on paint (little bit of glue left by the dealership sticker) Thanks!
Yes you can! Our product is called Tree Sap Remover: bit.ly/TreeSapRemover
@@diydetailofficial thanks for the fast reply, you guys are awsome🚀
Placing my order now🔥
Thank you
Ready!
Thank you
I'd buy DIY Detail red detailing shoes! Maybe a Vans collab? I dont think anyone has "invented" shoes for detailers.
There are a few.
In my opinion there’s no need to do a decon every wash or month unless needs must
Correct, you can if you want, but it’s not needed.
@@diydetailofficial it’s all about how and where you drive and the conditions when parked up. It’s all subjective 😄
Exactly
Another note: electric vehicles use brakes very little almost not at all and they require less iron Decon. Not none, but much less. Of course there’s iron from other cars brakes! For me I keep a bottle of DIY detail rinseless in a spray bottle for my wheels and door jambs. Works perfectly for my EV!
Good plan!
And I know this is an M6 and not EV. I mean just a general advice about wheel cleaning.
Ceramic pads is what has eliminated that brown film on the wheels and by lasting more than the old ferric ones, it’s less iron on the wheels
Thank you
I do too but some reason i would mix up in a bottle instead of just stealing from my fresh wash bucket. Yvan changed that with all his tips and tricks. here is something i can share. i use rinseless as my windshield washer fluid !!!!
Wealth of knowledge here
Thank you
Love the video
Thanks
For a moment there, I thought Mr.Ballen went from telling stories to detailing cars.
Lol
Would like to meet u so can get my detail business going
Yvan offers business coaching.
Someone needs to come up with an iron remover that works as well as thioglycolate without the smell. I don’t even care if it turns purple.
Unfortunately the smell is part of the game. When used as we show, the smell is greatly reduced as we use less than 1oz to do a vehicle.
I had my black car ceramic coated and it scratches more now then prior to having it done.
Why is this happening.
Thanks.
Then return to the installer for them to take a look.
@@diydetailofficial he has no answers for me tells me the car wash did it.
Went through it one time my wife’s car has been through it probably 1000 times and does not have these marks
Very odd, agreed a coating should not be so sensitive, what coating was used?
No foam canon. What then?
No foam cannon, use DIY Detail Rinseless Wash.
Ceramic Gloss ON TOP of Quick Beads?! 🤯
A very slick combination
@@diydetailofficial I bet! I’m still relatively new to this hobby, and have watched your QB vs CG video multiple times…can you explain why stacking layers is good/helpful/not a bad thing? Always appreciate your knowledge. 🙇♂️
It provides additional protection, and slightly extended durability.
feels wrong watching yvan with the foam and pressure washer lol rinseless is >
Foam is fun though :)
