  • Here is a video from my Murray cod fishing session yesterday afternoon.
    It was a stinking hot and balmy afternoon and the sweat was rolling off me.
    The river looked OK, but water quality was a bit dirty.
    The fishing was still quite good though and the Murray cod were still active, despite the dirty water.
    I do not know how long this fantastic Murray cod fishing will last but I have a feeling that there is going to be a huge cod fishing slowdown just around the corner. It is pouring rain now which is sure to make the rivers and creeks dirty, even for a little while.
    Hopefully they bounce back pretty quickly and we get some more great Murray cod fishing this autumn before winter sets in.

    Great video, one huge takeaway from this video is Robbie's skills in observance. Noticing a lizard in the first few seconds and tiger snake not much later on, being able to pick up on these little things is a skill that for most people takes a lot of work. They are also a plus when it comes to learning the ways of these fish and becoming better at seeking them out.

    I laughed when you got the bejesus frightened out of you when a fish grabbed your hook which is the whole point of the exercise but when you seen the snake you had no fear you laughed at him. Fearless fearless Robbie ha ha ha be careful out there

      Vincent Donnelly hahahahaha even your comments make me laugh Vincent. The tiger snake has killed a few people over the years. The potential to get bitten is always there but they won't Strike unless they have to. Usually if the feel cornered or in danger they will strike. If not they're usually happy to get out of the road.

I'm new to fishing and have not yet set this rod and real up as yet but will review your video on your venom and curado. I was also wandering how that lure retriever works. Could you shed some light on that please.

    • @robbiefishing
      @robbiefishing  7 років тому

      dtomic17 Hey mate they're great for lure fishing if you're using big lures, but if you're fishing with light lures, or for bait fishing I would stick with a normal egg beater type setup mate.

    • @dtomic17
      @dtomic17 7 років тому

      robbiefishing i just feel like I'll be limited with a bait caster, I have never caught a fish on a lure only on bait. I really need to go up to Shepparton and Murchison haha or particularly anywhere just to get a cod. If I do hey I'll send you a good pic. You have motivated me to get one.

    • @robbiefishing
      @robbiefishing  7 років тому +1

      dtomic17 Thanks for your kind words mate. Egg beaters are certainly much more versatile and can be used for many different purposes. Quite a few anglers prefer to fish for cod with egg beaters. My biggest gripe with baitcasters is that they don't have anti reverse. LOL Nobody else I know ever uses that anyway. hahahahaha just me!
