Thanks mate! I've never really used it in the past but I saw other people having great success using it for Cod fishing. Turns out it's a great little bait for them!
Thanks mate! Yes our cockatoos aren't known for their serene noises that's for sure LOL they are one of the noisiest birds in the world I think! Next time I go to that spot I will have to try using the shrimp as bait, it seems the fish would be used to eating them if there's that many there.
The shrimp are a lot of work cleaning and shelling for not very much meat, yabbies are better for humans, the shrimp are better for the fish haha. Thanks so much for watching!
There used to be a commercial here with the catch phrase "O, the power of cheese". Catching a fish within the first 10 minutes is so satisfying. Those hawks sure had something going on. With such a good shrimp population, there's probably something big eating them!
The only issue with catching a fish so fast is that it's usually the only one you get! Sadly that was the case, but it's still good to get one. Next time I'll use the shrimp as bait, I might get more action!
Absolutely, UA-cam is a wonderful place filled with random knowledge! I haven't really used cheese in the past but I'm quickly learning it's a great bait for Cod
Another great vid. Hoping my casting gets as accurate as yours and robbiefishing. Great explanation about knowing the depth. I've never fished for Murray Cod but will travel some and give it a go at some stage. I noticed when you were showing your bait with the marks on it that you didn't have the point or barb exposed. What is the logic behind this and does it make any difference to hooking up? Thanks in advance for any reply.
Thanks so much Brett! Casting accuracy improves slowly with loads of practice haha. Just between you and me, I might have edited out a couple of bad casts LOL. Because the cheese is soft I can leave the point buried just inside it, and because Cod tend to strike aggressively the hook will have no issue pushing through the cheese and into the fish. You can expose it as well if you wanted to, but I think that the more of the hook is still inside the cheese, the better chance it has of staying on there when casting.
First time I've ever seen cheese used as bait....and it worked! Nice job landing that Murray Cod Rohan. And nice job catching those shrimp. Always a good day when you can be on the water fishing buddy 👍
