- #twostrokevsfourstroke #hardenduro Which is better for HARD ENDURO? Two stroke or four stroke? TX300i or CRF450? We were out exploring a new area with some serious hard enduro trails. In an epic battle of man & machine versus trail, we find out what kind of machine it takes to conquer the rocky, root-filled, sloppy mess.
I give you guys a lot of credit! I’m 60 now and mainly raced Mx, but I love trail riding ! When I was younger I went on a few nasty rides. If I trail ride now I do it in the high country! This one’s definitely a ball buster 💪
Great video! Can't believe I'm just finding your channel now. Excellent stuff!! 💪😃
Momentum is key on the 450. Great video. Slow technical riding is never boring in my opinion.
Those are some gnarled trails right there! Way to push through that grind haha. Love my TX300i. I don't think my riding would be as successful if I had my older 4-Stroke. Great vid 🤙
I feel for the dude on the 450. Its like using a driver when a putter is called for.
As someone who only recently switched to a 2-stroke, I can def say a 450 is the wrong tool for the job!
Yeah guys. 450 would be tough in something this. Although FX350 would be interesting to see how it does.
good movie, great channel. greetings from Poland 👍😁
Awesome video
The struggle is real!
best way to break(in) the bike :)
No issue with the phone screen if you flip the bike?
No issues at all - it holds strong. It’s also an old phone so no worries if anything happens.
@@WASemiHardEnduro That’s awesome, I got an old one I wanted to do that with as well.
Thanks
Wow tough trail!
I went to do this one last Thursday and it had semi recently been given some strategically placed logs across. But will def need to give it a good run.
It's unfortunately very close to where ppl park, so it's not hard to find.... and not hard to block.
Love this kind of terrain, keep up the great work! How are the new air forks in the slow tech terrain?
I think they’re great. I run a low-ish pressure (122), and find them to be 1000% better than my old Xplor forks
@@WASemiHardEnduro I thinking about a TPI for the next bike but can't decide on xplor or air, I had AER on my 17 TX300 and they were good at super low pressures. I hear the new XPLOR's are very good in 20/21 and the AER got some upgrades as well....hard choice. local dealer has both TX and TE in stock.
What kind of tire pressure are you guys running? It looks like you need tubeless and lower pressures.....
I either run a soft drilled mousse, or Tubliss at around 2.5 psi for the harder stuff.
I run a std mousse in the front.
Some bad ass trail
Nice Husky
Nice bike! I didn't see the map selector switch on your bike. The 2021 comes with it?
It comes with it, but dealer didn’t install it. I actually just installed it a few days ago.
@@WASemiHardEnduro And what do you think so far?
I've ridden a 450r as a trail bike for years and I got to say that it's a great bike works well for trails but is definitely not built for it like a ktm or husky
Really cool mount for the phone, what app do you use?
Gaia GPS - it’s awesome
@@WASemiHardEnduro Nice I love Gaia GPS. but was never able to figure out a way for it to auto center on my position? can it do that now? I would have to swipe around to re-center after I went off screen.
@@Jacksquatch69 Yes, mine has always been able to do that (iOS)
Knobbed lever is my clutch lever - I use a Clake One Light Clutch.
What brand straps are those on your front fender?
I have both Voile and Trailboundco straps.
Thank you!
hey what is the ram mount phone holder here?
also, looks like you are charging, how do you have that set up?
It's a Stout Mount (from Motominded) + Perfect Squeeze (from Hondo Garage). USB charger is from Burnsmoto.
Where is this in WA?
Capital Forest maybe?
Hey man is this where the framers are from
❓
Where are these trails?
I’ve been sworn to secrecy; Somewhere in WA State
why?? more work then fun.
I wanna ride one of those fuel injected 2strokes.
They're pretty sweet! Very smooth.
I bought a 2021 and had the piston melt after 5 miles that said the dealership fixed it and still have no clue what happened it wasn't getting oil for some reason and now I have 150 miles on now and I absolutely love it the torque and and fuel economy not to mention oil economy is great even with my bad experience with it I'd highly recommend it the bike feels better than anything I've ever ridden on the trails
@@corycooke8854 fantastic to hear that it's fixed and running good. Odd things can happen during the manufacturing process. Also if a motorcycle or automobile was built during covid-19 shut downs and other issues related to the pandemic, there is a higher chance at getting something the was missing or unchecked. There actually some info supporting this.
I owed 2016 FC 350 for the first time and fell completely in love with Austrian made motorcycles. I'm Husky/KTM lifer now. Lol. I've been riding japanese for 25 years prior to 2016.
not sure that is fun?
Maybe I’m a bit of a masochist. :)
My 2021 350fe will go anywhere your 300 will and with just as much ride ability. The crf 450 is definitely not a great hard enduro bike but don’t lump all 4t’s with that shit bike
I had the same bike as you - KTM version anyway - and you are correct, I could go anywhere on the 350 that I can go on the 300. BUT, the 300 is much much easier to handle in "hard" enduro type situations - less stalling, less heat, less perception of weight to toss around, less energy spent, and more lug-ability. The 350 engine has a soft spot in my heart though, and a 350 XC-F (w/ Vortex, flywheel weight, and lower gearing) would be a fun addition to the garage.
Yeah mine has a tuner , exhaust and is desmogged . Runs cool and lugs like crazy no more stalls than my previous 2017 300.
I know this is becoming more popular but I just dont see the thrill in this type of riding...
Technical can be fun but this here is just boring.
Developing the skills and progressing to be able to conquer obstacles is the thrill
