Mateus Asato is one of my new favorite guitar players. I'm a bass player, and I don't even play guitar, but his playing is so beautiful and technical to me. Love his style!!
I get more from watching these two funky chickens than I did from watching Vai, Satch, Gilbert, Strauss, Polyphia super stage shred - sorry shredders, you were my childhood God's, but..things change, I guess!
@@DiamondLifer thx for the tip. I just watched "look I'm dancing". The kids got chops! This is the kinda stuff I'll watch in awe; but when I just want some music playing, I'm still more drawn to the kind of stuff Greg Koch serves up. I just discovered Richie Kotzen (he's by no means new! I just discovered him, tho). That's the kind of muso pro I'm most impressed by these days - less gymnastics, more groove.
Greg is absolutely amazing and his tone is otherworldly. Young Mateus stills has a lot to learn after all (he is also one of the greatest guitarists around)
Wow. Really woud love to see them collaborating in a new song, they both are really tasty guitar players. I'd say Greg is chilli and Mateus is honey, risky but flavorful combination, kinda like our mexican candies xD
Johann Lop that’s fair. I do think Mateus has done a lot for the neo-soul style and is very fluid. Greg just always seems to surprise me with something new in every video I see
Mateus is a master composer and phenomenal player but in this setting Gregs creativity and session experience really outshine Mateus I feel. Mateus is like the ultimate bedroom player who's taken a trio to the big convention whereas Greg is like the humble rockstar who just has chops and style for absolute days. Pleasure to watch them have a 6 string conversation!
Greg is way older than Mateus so of course he has more studio experience, but Mateus is growing fast in the professional world. He'll have just as much experience in no time, even now he's considered a world class player by many.
absolutely amazing. greg's bends and phrasing is amazing.. also I'm a big Asato's fan... so, incredible video. I love when they go a little bit funky... If you guys knew what Brasil has done to the funk ... I'm so ashamed. There's nothing to do with actual funk, they call it funk here, but it is absolute garbage. Everytime I say I like funk I have to explain it after, "I'm talking about REAL funk"

We need more of this. The people deserve more Kochasato!
... Ass-Koch ?
It deserves one additional man -- govan!
@@eringabrielle8932 Kochasatovan? I'd be down for that!
Two absolute wizards of sound.
It was a relief to hear this when u hear chug chug all day long
Unconventionally spectacular! Mr Koch, you are the man!
awesome to hear these guys jam together!
This level of musicality is illigal
Greg should've named his signature guitar "Greg's Koch".
Breath of fresh air. Two innovative players, very different styles, working together wonderfully.
I won't even lie, I saw Mateus's name and already clicked 'like'
They are really listening to each other while playing. A true joy to watch!
Ah, the glorious, nuanced and otherworldly flavors of "Namm Jam."
Mateus Asato is one of my new favorite guitar players. I'm a bass player, and I don't even play guitar, but his playing is so beautiful and technical to me. Love his style!!
If this was an hour long I would have watched it all and not complained. Absolutely awesome!!!
Koch is on another level. Such an interesting and versatile player!
Greg's fingers were forged in the mountain of destiny
WHAT.....
Say it again!!!
I hear ya cluckin big chicken!
This was a match made in heaven
2:39 greg summons the blues gods of yesteryear. Amazing riff! Just AMAZING!
I hate when I get in a jam in front of people with a guitarist I don't know, and he proceeds to de-pants me - without even trying.
Love how Greg gets serious after Matues lets it rip in the last few bars of his solo..
I am not a guitar player....and yet, I can't get enough of Greg Koch
What a match made in tone heaven!!
Two legends, one young and other so full of tricks
Im a huge Mateus' fan, but Koch was the one shining here. Fortunatelly, music is not a competition!
beautiful duo
Wonderful n nice playing Guitar both
I think Greg is an amazing player. His bends and signature phrasing’s are insane.
Comin' Home Baby
This is so sick!! Did you guys see when Greg jammed with Eric Gales a few years ago at NAMM? 🤯
Yeah, so sick!
Greetings from Brazil. Congrats Mateus
I get more from watching these two funky chickens than I did from watching Vai, Satch, Gilbert, Strauss, Polyphia super stage shred - sorry shredders, you were my childhood God's, but..things change, I guess!
Check out Charlie Robbins. Great young player with amazing technical skills and soul. Very very creative newer player.

DiamondLifer -another new young player that is reminiscent of GREG Koch is Anthony Cullins. Check him out..
Yeh I been through them all, but I always come back to hear Greg.
Luey Sixty-six calling Polyphia shred.. clearly hasn’t actually heard them, mateus is even featured on their newest album.
The Fact is Greg is legend, and mateus is on the way to be a legend . Cool
That walk down at 1:55 gave me chills. Awesome stuff!
THEY NEED TO DO A ALBUM !!!!!! NOW!!!!!
I saw Mateus a few years back when Suhr did NAMM factory parties. Amazing player! (miss those parties, too).
So much great taste and wonderful tones with these guys, love it! Next up: The Asato and Koch World Tour 😊?!
Two of my favorites. Both have distinctive open styles. So tasteful.
That was awesome. Thanks for sharing!
Mateus Asato really touched by the presence of Greg Koch
Greg... you are best blues man..!!!
Two amazing players!
They need to tour with each other!!
TOP de mais. Meu Brasil está bem representado, Obrigado Mateus Asato
2 absolute masters.
Damn this was a great jam
Sick as sick can get!
Two of my fav in one 😍😍👌👌🙏
Two of the best in the world.
MEU DEUS DO CEU MEU CORAÇÃOZIN VAI INFARTAR :O
Very compatible players -- both are comfortable using their fingers and utilizing percussive clicks.
yeah it's very cool
Greg is absolutely amazing and his tone is otherworldly. Young Mateus stills has a lot to learn after all (he is also one of the greatest guitarists around)
Goodness gracious! Whew!
Wow. Really woud love to see them collaborating in a new song, they both are really tasty guitar players. I'd say Greg is chilli and Mateus is honey, risky but flavorful combination, kinda like our mexican candies xD
Putting two combustible substances together is dangerous
Congratulacions Greg!! You are amazing guitarrist!!!
Dual Masters
wow! greg mateus fusion blues!
What if Guthrie Go...... never mind...
Two monsters!!!!
The master and the pupil
Coming home
Greg Koch, ótimas idéias.
So sweet when two class acts give each other room to breath...unfortunately Greg’s hat steals the show.

That kid is going to look back on this day when he is older and think GODAMN, I still can’t believe those dudes.
He's a prodigy.
This is some religious content i need!!!
I always dig Greg's right wrong notes... unbelievable!
Thanks to this, I now aware that on 0:25 it was Quincy Jones - Comin' Home Baby in a way.
I've never asked this before due to reasons but why are there 3 dislikes? What's not to like here?
Some Slipknot fans must have snuck in here.
Probably jealous of that beautiful hair :)
@@Snoozfest and you can't even see most it because of the hat!...
Extreme, elite level wizardry.
cool pictures bro
Awesome Jazzy gods!!! :)
Man I like this!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Wow!
Greg is such an incredible improvisor.
Greg has the situation under control
Sophie Giuliani in the background filming while she should've been joining this jam!
4:37 mateus stopping his run to give greg the spotlight #respect
victor w He was ready to give greg a fatality but Mateus is toooo kind.
Johann Lop lol nah man. Luv Mateus’ playing but Greg is definitely the more interesting player. Dude goes GOD mode every time
megaatomicmuffin I guess it’s a matter of taste, to me Mateus is way better on every level.
@@johannlop1076 yea gotta agree.. mateus seems more fluid with his improvs

So tasty jam🔥
Sonzeira!
asatos 1st solo the tone is great
They are playing Howard Roberts's "Turista," I think. Cool tune. These guys are monster players.
I thought it's I'm a man by the spencer davis group, not sure.
Where can you buy the Koch hat? The Scoobie Doobie!
Fab
Jazz Std using penta blues lick? Asato dosent nows coming home?
World class players
Best Performance 2020 😎 -/,,/
Greg takes his cooking very seriously both in and out of the kitchen !
YES!!!!

His "creativity and session experience really outshine" him, yet his phrasing rarely if at all "outshined" Mateus'.
volume balance doing no one a favor

It’s a bit unfair to say that now, Greg has a ton more experience in playing with others.
@@sgtcaco why would it be unfair to tell the truth? Greg does have more experience, that's exactly what I pointed out???
I like asatos tone
