    I've got the same obsession than you. So streamer became my religion. But here in France, lures and bait fish fishermen keep there big trouts making them very rare.
    Your film is really beautifull. Thank you.

    You're so lucky to live somewhere where you can target these monsters, not to mention have the time to do it. This makes me want to drop everything I'm doing right now and drive 4 1/2 hours down to East Lake from Portland (I caught an 8 pounder there on an articulated streamer I tied).

      Hey Kevin, We run quite a few set-ups but our most common are 9'6" 6wt Helios 2 with either Rio CW Outbound WF8iS6 or a Helios 2 10' 4wt with the Rio Camolux WF4. We tie all our own streamers, realistic colors, white, brown, green etc.

    Guys, I have been in the film, video, photography and design business for thirty years, so when I say your film was great, I know what I am talking about. I really enjoyed the beauty, fishing skills and the passion for your obsession. I live and fish in East Tennessee, which is also beautiful and great fly fishing, just not as large. I plan to come to OR next Spring and want to fly fish, so I am assuming the central part is where I need to concentrate? Thanks

  • @CaptRebop
    @CaptRebop 10 років тому +2

    Nice video, and very nice fish. What do you guys plan to do for an encore?
    I'm a local and I visit your special place occasionally. My passion, though, is a lake I'm sure you're familiar with, it has big browns and it's not far away.
    Let's talk fly lines. I see on one reel, a red backing I am guessing is Amnesia. So, it that a fast(er) sink line on that one? It looks like you're using a couple of clear sinking lines, on your other two reels. Two different sink rates for those?

    • @beauprice9275
      @beauprice9275 10 років тому

      Hey Capt! I think we are familiar with a special little lake not too far away. The mosquitos can be horrid.. We will likely be producing an instructional video per popular demand.. on streamer fishing for browns in rivers and lakes. NOT a "which rock to stand on" video about "where exactly" we fish, but more about our tactics.. As far as lines.. We use quite a few different sinking lines. The Rio Aqualux, Rio camolux Intermediate, Rio Coldwater Outbound 275gr. Rio Coldwater Outbound 225gr. The Rio Deep 7 full sink. In this video we also used the Airflo Expert Distance 300gr. as well as the Rio Streamertip 15ft S6 and Occasionally the Rio Versa-tip system.. If I had to condense what we use into 3 must have lines.. It would be the Camolux intermediate, the 275gr CW Outbound, and CW Outbound 225gr. We try to take at least 2-3 different ready to rock systems to the water with us to target fish where they will be in the water column depending on the conditions. Hopefully we will see you out there! Tight Lines!

    • @CaptRebop
      @CaptRebop 10 років тому

      Beau Price I like the lake that's higher in elevation and it got the white slide. Mosquitos are sometimes a nuisance on land, but out on the water, not a problem. I found Kelly Gallop's zoo cougar to be an excellent streamer up there. I have a couple of sinking lines, and the Versa-tip, but I was looking to expand (Denny Rickards claims he changes fly lines more often than flies). It's hard to argue with your success.
      I'm fix-in to try for some large mouth early, and whether or not I make to your honey hole this year is not certain. You are so correct, there's lots of quality fishing and fish in these parts. So many choices. I look forward to your next production. You guys do a class act.
      Steve

    • @beauprice9275
      @beauprice9275 10 років тому

      Capt Rebop AHHH... We are thinking of different places.. Although the White slide lake is where I have "SEEN" the biggest fish locally... And (Denny Rickards) is 100% correct. We use only a few different patterns but many different lines and retrievals.. When we make our "instructional" video it will definitely cover many of our techniques as far as fly and line choices. I think some people will be inspired and others will be annoyed by our disregard for certain "techniques" many people use... We feel the real key to doing better on the water, is breaking away from "tradition" and developing techniques and processes that are unique to each body of water THEY fish based on sciences and experiences... As no two places are alike the process of dissecting a piece of water will always be different... But in most cases is predictable (when there is a base knowledge of the fish, and the conditions that effect them.) Most of our "success" is accredited to small tweaks, in proven strategies.. But when you add up all the small things, the picture we are trying to portray in this video starts to take form.
      IN FEW WORDS: In our opinion, there is always more to it, and NO ONE including us will EVER have it "figured out"...
      We love to see other people having success on the water, treating the fish and the resource with respect, and sharing their experience with the rest of the fly fishing community. We hope to see you out there man!
