Man I love this stuff. I do thus daily in urban rivers n creeks. I don't stop till I land one. There's nothing like it. Your enthusiasm is motivation. even in the dead of winter I chase em as long as there's no ice.
I like this channel because, unlike the glam chans with their guides and elite waters -- you take us to places I can visualize myself fishing. It's a channel for the 90 whatever percent. As is @EricLeslie. Feels like watching friends fish. Very inclusive and relatable.
I enjoyed the novel format of this vid, more like you're telling us your fish tale over a few beers. Nice work. Beautiful bows too. I'm glad you finally stopped there. 👍
Beautiful Rainbow Dan! The color is so stunning! Its amazing the coloration difference in each drainage. I would encourage you to snorkel sometime in your favorite creek! Dan Brent
Another awesome adventure Dan. Finding those "special" tucked away fishing holes always takes some time. leg work and patience. You persisted and were rewarded. Keep that location under your hat. The rest of us have to go through the same process for our reward. The adventure is the juice. Very well done . Thank you !
Dan the man!! This is the place I fell in love with the sport.. these crawfish eating trout are huge and beautiful red bands!! The old c*** creek is a special place!
It’s a tough one to fish. Lots of great water that you just cannot access due to the steep banks. Beautiful fish in there though. Fished it for the first time last year, early in the year and they were just mashing the stoneflies. Read about this place as a boy in Fly Fisherman, and it’s all they said it was.
Nice handling! In such cold conditions it’s good to make sure you don’t remove the fish from the water. 6-8 seconds in freezing air temperatures already begins doing damage to a trout’s gills.
Those redbands can very so much in color one from another. We’ve found that often two fish (the male and female) often occupy the same hole. Can you believe they get 6-8” longer in there? Your enthusiasm and execution on this one is a 10 buddy 🏆
Thanks Dan, I really enjoy your videos, and you are a Great Outdoorsman, I have driven all over this state as well and see lakes and creeks all the time that I think about and should make the time to explore and I'm going to try and make the time for it this year. Happy New Year Dan!
Fantastic fishing in such a small beck (northern English word for small river) I caught small trout from the beck in the village I lived in as a kid. Fish On.
Woooooow hey Dan,well ať the beginning if looked like it wasn't going to be all that good And finally as they say I went there.👍👍👍🤗🤗🤗 And I see the weather really can't stop you if you wan to go fishing, right?🤠🤠🤠😁😁😁💪💪💪 It's certainly still cold, isn't it?👀👀👀😱😱😱 I mean in the video of course.😁😁😁well, Fish on.🤠🤠🤠
Thank you! I know right?? I can't believe I took that long either - I need to explore more myself instead of always relying on the usual spots. Cheers!
Thank you Bruce - I broke the energy meter on this one for sure...Lol. I was working so hard to catch a fish, wanted it so bad...when it happened, I was thrilled (as you could probably hear). Thanks for watching!
Hi Dan. Thanks for another exploration fly fishin video. Nuttin like a twig trout dancing on the end O ur line. Lol! I resemble that, and it isn't like a whopper dancing on the end O ur line! God Bless n Fish on! Oh and that wasn't a golden trout it just looked golden due to the color of the creek bottom. Camouflage persay.
Thank you for this, I've been trying to get into some new water that isn't the Santiam. I love the santiam but I'd just like to find new places sp I bought some books and maps hoping to find a place like this soon!
dude that stream is wide open in a lot of your pics you ever heard of a bow and arrow or hell roll cast! I wish my small streams were that wide open with on overhead trees.
I suppose it’s a matter of perspective. You are right - there are not a lot of streams as you described here in the PNW - so this one seemed to me to be full of obstacles. Thanks for taking the time to watch! Cheers!
Couple of questions Is this video missing gps location or is that for paid subscribers? Also you should make a video fishing beaver ponds… the ponds are in the local Seattle region with some cutthroat
Hello Benjamin - no paid subscribers, I chose not to name this fishery due to its sensitive nature, size and that added pressure would destroy the fishery. I name many places I have fished - just not the ones that took me years to discover and cultivate over my lifetime. Hope you understand - thank you for taking the time to watch. Cheers and FISH-ON!
Dan you’re posting some of the last best kept secrets in Washington. If you like fishing that creek maybe keeping it off the internet would be wise. Don’t you think?
Thanks for taking the time to watch - The only way that someone would be able to discover where I was would be if they had been there already themselves. No landmarks no conversation no drone shots showing where I was. I am not promoting where to fly fish, but inspiring people to get out there and discover new places on their own. Hope that makes sense and thank you for keeping it respectful. Cheers!
eh, it's not much of a secret. there was almost a whole article written on it 8 years ago. but i can see this video inviting people to make a trip. either way i see it the way Dan did and is promoting people discovering. let's hope this place stays this way for a long while
Far from “best kept secret”, I don’t even fly fish and haven’t been to this creek to fish and know what it is. If you’re in eastern wa there’s plenty of small creeks, irrigation drainages, and wasteways that hold large trout if they actually try fishing them.

Awesome video Dan! Guess I should have kept going! I turned around 300 yards prior 2 weeks ago lol!
Thanks Scott - always tough to turn around for sure :)). Cheers!
The colors on those trout are nuts!
I caught my biggest fish recently, and 14 inch native.
It was pretty amazing for sure - nice! Love catching the native fish - pretty cool and thanks for sharing!
we used to fish a super small stream that ran through a pasture and 20 inch brook trout were the norm
You just have to love that - big fish super small stream. Thanks for watching!
Fantastic fishing in such a small beck (northern English word for small river) I caught small trout from the beck in the village I lived in as a kid. Fish On.
It was a pretty amazing day for sure. That's awesome - thank you for sharing and FISH-ON indeed!
Come back to this creek in mid March, you won’t regret it. Also, if anyone asks, this creek sucks and has no fish. Happy fishing!
The creek completely sucks and totally...has zero fish ;)

Would you like to know what the creek is called
no golden trout in OR ..... or are there ??
That ladder is called a stile.
Very cool - learned something new. Thanks for that! Cheers!
Why was there barbed wire fencing? Was private land in that area?
Yes, this particular stream has very limited public access, there are a few areas where the ranchers will allow you to cross. Cheers!
What creek is this?
My secret creek - not somewhere I want to post on UA-cam! Cheers!
Looks like a horse fly trout .
Where’s the creek?
Definitely not going to put that out there in the UA-cam world
