- Welcome to my first ever long-form Runescape video!
As a player that plays and enjoys both versions of Runescape, I often tell people how a specific place or item is different on the other version of the game. So I decided to gather a list of things or places and compare seemingly the same things but how they differ between Runescape 3 and Oldschool Runescape. In this video we will be comparing 5 things that exist in both games but function differently or have other content related to it. Enjoy!

Fun video Dasha! I also like both games although RS3 has become so convoluted that I prefer my OSRS account now, but I do miss some parts of rs3 - like Runespan!!

They need to add back random events that teleport you into an event forcibly. There are way too many bots on OSRS. I didn't know about this feature, as I quit 2007 when they added their first new skill to the game.
Yeah I agree! At least do some little human test-action before you can leave too
@@Ectograss Or make it only have a chance for death if "odd" actions are made, that are clearly a script. ANYTHING to deal with them. Thank you for the video, regardless! I still am not returning to my "main" from 2007, though. Runescape has become almost as foreign as World of Warcraft looks nowadays, to me at least.
@@infiniteaaron I left WoW recently after the butchered the lore so many times, and came back to OSRS. Lit best decision I've made. Personally I enjoy the random events not being mandatory, but I agree there are too many bots.
@@HarbingerofHyol940 Ectograss making a new video recreating the Lumbridge castle in The Sims brought me back to wanting to play again... The Sims, I mean. I don't know about OSRS at the moment. Playing a game that requires real money monthly to play fully, or put hours into the game or get lucky, isn't too enticing anymore.

I remembered when I logged in one day and the air altar moved..then you could’ve made armadyl runes there.
i play os but i played rs 2 until rs3 i guess and didn't pick up os til 2016 ish. i knew about the air alter because of the clan thing. i was in a decent sized clan then but not currently in any on os. the rest i didn't really know but i would enjoy seeing it as a series i already subbed haha

@@Ectograss yeah because of the clan thing. I'm more of a solo player I don't have hardly any friends on there and it was like a max size clan they always bugged me about collecting resources for it or whatever it was called
Could cerberus be compared to glacors? Drops seem similar enough, but im not familiar with the mechanics of cerberus
I remember trying RS3, and got so confused on the tasks bar, the UI was stupidly confusing
it's reaaaaaaally confusing at first, that's for sure

I also play both versions on the same account, I do really like how many quality of life things exist in RS3. I love stackable clues, there’s like 300 quests, bonfires make fire making afk, you can click once to keep pickpocketing til stunned, menaphos is really cool, priff is a whole different beast of an area, there’s a max guild, war’s retreat along with its own quick tele, reaper tasks to really reward boss slaying, lodestones, mini games that actually make me do them ie herby werby, Wildy being opt in.
Dude I can keep going. 😭 but the gist of it all is I love rs3 but since I quit RuneScape back in 2006 and didn’t play for 12 years, there’s so much stuff I missed the release for on RS3 that it feels overwhelming at times, and I wish there wasn’t two versions because I’ve placed all my marbles onto OSRS. Having a main, a skiller account, and two bossing alts on OSRS. Both are fun in their own ways, I do understand the respective player bases but I don’t like that osrs players are against any good qol changes just cause they suffered the “old school way” to achieve the goal. The “I had to do it the hard way, so you do too” people.

yeah, it gets overwhelming even missing out on a few months of updates on RS3, not easy to get back into it.
I like OSRS for the "simplicity" of it and not too much of dailyscape there hahah

At 5:23 you mentioned clue bottles/ clue nests in osrs. Just a heads up that you actually cannot get bottles/nests/geods/clues of the same type at the same time. Having 1 makes it impossible to get any of the others. None the less, interesting video :)
so you *can't* have a hard clue bottle and hard clue nest at the same time? I thought you could own one of each as long as you don't have the clue scroll "active" AKA open o.O
@@Ectograss yep only one of any tier regardless of what form it's in. Oddly enough the clues can't leave bank placeholders but the bottles/geodes/nests can. They can be turned into watson towards a master clue though which allows you to get another one.

I prefer RS3 (been playing since 2004). I ditched my main and started playing IM only. It's much fun!z

@@Ectograss that UIM mode on osrs sounds very juicy. Perhaps I will give it a try. More restrictions = more fun! 😃

I stopped playing osrs a few years ago. Just after I quit I really got interested in watching RuneScape 3 content and really started to appreciate RuneScape 3. In my opinion it's overall a better game than osrs from what I've seen

But tbh. Outside of graphical armor changes and a few cosmetic things in general. It does have something’s I prefer. Like voiced quest. Osrs quest are unbearable and it’s lore is just in general way better.

I’m base 90s in both games, OSRS is better in everything except quests. Tbh rs3 is dying a slow inevitable death
RuneScape 3 is better than OSRS overall but the economy is superior on OSRS. RS3 suffers from too much dead content.
