The pedal came in with broken dc connector and burnt led, we procede to replace the connector, the led and gave a deep cleaning and maintenance to the unit.
You can find in the market one with blue led and one with red led. Just as you assumed, the red led one will stay on but flickers as the compression kicks in. The blue led one, thanks to the voltage needed to stay on(higher than red one), it just flickers with the compression. If you like how the blue one behaves... just swap the led with a 3mm hi brightness blue one.
