I always found it really interesting how people could make a 6ft 3/ 5 ft 9 point gaurd with a 7ft 99 strength center, run left and right through screens, and think they're gods. It's the same every time, too, I have yet to play a team that doesn't run that exact lineup...

Couple of points: No one backed out from more games than purple plates, in 24. If you get to just chill and have fun, there's always another team being battered by you laughing at them and having fun, so there is no perfect system.

There is zero fun in this game. Gameplay sucks, company sucks, community sucks😂 I make very different builds and can't even enjoy them. Got point centers and very skilled builds like that, but the horrible gameplay and having to sweat it out in every game I play makes it impossible to enjoy. Can't even run pg in random rec because of the headaches I'll get. Very sad

The matchmaking in an unranked mode is literal stupidity. Having players in random modes with a variety made it more balanced. Sweating every game for 300vc in the theatre with no incentive is crazy. The redeeming part is finally there is actually decent rep rewards in 2k
honestly if you wanna have fun in this game is by playing with friends or having the expectation that you're not going to win because playing theater or rec solo is quickly ruined by playing with rands lol
Some of these guys need that community day to prove to their parents they’re not just at home just playing for fun. They get recognition and revenue from it.
Modern gaming truly is an Unpaid Job for most people. And then 2K again deceintivize people to make their build because, why not, make Steal ridicolously cheap so that everyone plays defense by spamming square. It's an endless cycle of people being beated by "comps", so those same people revert to whatever is meta, so that they themselves can do less and easily beat others.
My problem with 2k that most people probably don’t care about is the attention to detail just isn’t that good when it comes to what players wear on the court and what players look like as a whole
What the sbmm doesn’t understand is everyone in that tier are not the same skill wise. A guy that had a lucky string of games & got good teammates & just barely got into the gold tier and a red tier guy that got an unlucky string of games & dropped into the gold tier are two different skill levels and it’s glaringly obvious on the court. My SG & SF can’t create a shot for themselves but they’re giving up butt naked open 3s on the other end. I played w/ a red plate Pg the other day and he was terrible. I asked him how did he get to the red tier & he told me it’s bc he plays w/ a squad. A lot of these players aren’t good w/o a squad.

I’m an absolute try hard and win 80-90%. 2k is (usually) my main go-to game every year and this is genuinely the first year since 2k21 and 18 that I don’t see myself playing it for much longer at all. It’s a fundamentally flawed game at a mechanical level and just “feels bad” to play. Movement is atrocious, shooting is rng, shit damn near everything is rng. Clunkiest 2k I’ve ever played

2K lost me when they started to cater more towards MyPark instead of the other modes like MyNBA it's soo annoying. The only gameplay changes made to it have to deal with MYPark 🙄 The only reason I'll get this game is for the PC Mods, that's it
I guess we may have gotten off on the wrong foot in your previous videos, but I agree with everything you said here. Tbh with you, I didn't even buy 2K25 because of the reasons you mentioned, which is that I can't dominate on a build that I have fun with, or big paint-oriented build. I hit legend on 2k20 pretty much entirely on a pure red 7'2 and then made a red/yellow 7'3 so I could get more rep with the deep outlet passes. In the real NBA I am so stoked that Edey is dominating because the NBA has been passing up on the strong guys like Kofi Cockburn. But some guys I like to watch with personality are Ol Dog Smoke though he only has uploaded once in 2k25, Waff6ix, and Sant Hardaway. None of them are big at all but Ol Dog Smoke brings out the 80s style vibe that I like, Saint Hardaway is funny posting horrible decision making by his teammates in solo rec, trust me, it's hilarious, you gotta see it I promise it's funny, and Waff... You probably already know him. If he hasn't commented on one of your videos yet, Idk what you're doing, but he is really a wholesome unique guy
I had a 6'4 pure playmaker in 2k19 trying to iso like steezo (i did ok) and then after a streak is formed people would duck. We always wanted a matchmaking mode that was like park but not stage/pro am level sweaty. I took a break from 2k and came back to 2k23 with the theater, I thought "woah this is literally matchmaking park oh my goodness this is awesome :)". This continued through 2k24 and now with sbmm in 2k25, in combination with the shitty dribbling and highest delay in the games history, the game is absolutely unplayable. Taking sbmm out won't change how I feel about the game, seeing as bums from 2k24 got an insane buff in this game (go figure). If this continues I'm on my way out until the next 2k gets put on ps plus or something.
I’ve never understood people who complain about SBMM and say stuff like “Im forced to play meta and sweat bc I’m going up against red plates and I can’t play casually.” What if you just play the game casually, and get matched up with other guys with lower W%s who also play the game casually? I mean, has ANYONE heard the phrase “you can’t have your cake and eat it too”? Like Jesus Christ, SBMM this year is a godsend. If I wanna sweat, I get on one of my more meta builds with a higher W%, if I don’t I get on a lower W% build. You little goblins who can’t stand losing a game are the problem.

The game does suck. There are things I like, but there are fundamental issues with the game itself, and the servers are the worst they have ever been. Even when I'm playing with my friends (which is why I play this game), I'm still getting soo angry at the game that I end up logging off.

Exactly what i wrote under one of your latest videos. As long as community isn't about having fun, this game won't be good. Content creators driving kids to look for any kind of additional advantage over other players. It's constant "looking for glitchy moves" fest with strong encourage to selfish playstyle. Most players use same animations, there's over hundred of them in general, but only 15-20 are "playable". 2k follows this path because they now where money is. Of cours they'll support this race for most glitched build, when they now that 13yrs old kid would dump parents money on another build, if his fav YTber said that he needs 85 ball handling to get some op animations and his current build is only at 80. He wont invest few weeks of playing to get cap breakers coz "i want to win now!!". Same with bad gameplay mechanics, 2k doesn't want to punish ppl with low basketball IQ, because they'd quit after 5th heavy challenged layup not going in. So now we have broken post scoring, same with steals. It's basically "spam one button" with "get high steal rating" instead of "good timing and positioning pays off". Whole gameplay is driven too much on animations.
the only mode that’s been enjoyable is pro am because there’s no SBMM and we’ve been getting fast games with the matchmaking. rep wise it’s good too. proving grounds isn’t worth it and rec is unplayable without a full 5. park been dead and theater is a sweat fest every game.

I had a win percentage of 65 in park 2k 21 with like 800 games played. My friends who I played with didn’t understand that they only win with me because i force them to play right. Haven’t payed 2k since. I know they are struggling online against people. I could literally play a fantastic game and with no reaction from them but when they do something cool they think they are the shit lmao. I had to come to terms that’s how most people want to play in 2k. Most people who play 2k are me centered instead of team center. I was tired of explaining that. Haven’t played park 2k since. Honestly bro I been playing 2k16 and having a lot of fun, the only reason I got 2k23 was bc it was on sale and the gameplay against AI pretty much make shooting impossible (unless wide open) and players under 90 struggle to make layups, 2k19 was the last game I paid full price for, and I don’t plan on getting anymore 2ks

Back in the day it used to be NBA LIVE hands down. Then for some reason it just took a nose dive. Competition creates great games in the sports genre. We had NBA INSIDE DRIVE, NBA LIVE, 2K, NBA STREETS, AND 1, NBA BLALLERS. and don’t get me started with all the NFL games we had. all are gone for 1 single game. If everyone was on the same page and force EA to change or we as consumers aren’t buying but, we can’t come together for some reason so they’ll never change.

There is zero fun in this game. Gameplay sucks, company sucks, community sucks😂 I make very different builds and can't even enjoy them. Got point centers and very skilled builds like that, but the horrible gameplay and having to sweat it out in every game I play makes it impossible to enjoy. Can't even run pg in random rec because of the headaches I'll get. Very sad

The matchmaking in an unranked mode is literal stupidity. Having players in random modes with a variety made it more balanced. Sweating every game for 300vc in the theatre with no incentive is crazy. The redeeming part is finally there is actually decent rep rewards in 2k

What the sbmm doesn’t understand is everyone in that tier are not the same skill wise. A guy that had a lucky string of games & got good teammates & just barely got into the gold tier and a red tier guy that got an unlucky string of games & dropped into the gold tier are two different skill levels and it’s glaringly obvious on the court. My SG & SF can’t create a shot for themselves but they’re giving up butt naked open 3s on the other end. I played w/ a red plate Pg the other day and he was terrible. I asked him how did he get to the red tier & he told me it’s bc he plays w/ a squad. A lot of these players aren’t good w/o a squad.

I’m an absolute try hard and win 80-90%. 2k is (usually) my main go-to game every year and this is genuinely the first year since 2k21 and 18 that I don’t see myself playing it for much longer at all. It’s a fundamentally flawed game at a mechanical level and just “feels bad” to play. Movement is atrocious, shooting is rng, shit damn near everything is rng. Clunkiest 2k I’ve ever played
If you’re casual you’ll get matched up either way other people off your skill level, and there’s even an exclusive court on each park for casuals

I guess we may have gotten off on the wrong foot in your previous videos, but I agree with everything you said here. Tbh with you, I didn't even buy 2K25 because of the reasons you mentioned, which is that I can't dominate on a build that I have fun with, or big paint-oriented build. I hit legend on 2k20 pretty much entirely on a pure red 7'2 and then made a red/yellow 7'3 so I could get more rep with the deep outlet passes. In the real NBA I am so stoked that Edey is dominating because the NBA has been passing up on the strong guys like Kofi Cockburn.
But some guys I like to watch with personality are Ol Dog Smoke though he only has uploaded once in 2k25, Waff6ix, and Sant Hardaway. None of them are big at all but Ol Dog Smoke brings out the 80s style vibe that I like, Saint Hardaway is funny posting horrible decision making by his teammates in solo rec, trust me, it's hilarious, you gotta see it I promise it's funny, and Waff... You probably already know him. If he hasn't commented on one of your videos yet, Idk what you're doing, but he is really a wholesome unique guy

23 was the first year with theater I’m pretty sure. But I think he’s talking about without skill based matchmaking
I had a 6'4 pure playmaker in 2k19 trying to iso like steezo (i did ok) and then after a streak is formed people would duck. We always wanted a matchmaking mode that was like park but not stage/pro am level sweaty. I took a break from 2k and came back to 2k23 with the theater, I thought "woah this is literally matchmaking park oh my goodness this is awesome :)". This continued through 2k24 and now with sbmm in 2k25, in combination with the shitty dribbling and highest delay in the games history, the game is absolutely unplayable. Taking sbmm out won't change how I feel about the game, seeing as bums from 2k24 got an insane buff in this game (go figure). If this continues I'm on my way out until the next 2k gets put on ps plus or something.

The game does suck. There are things I like, but there are fundamental issues with the game itself, and the servers are the worst they have ever been. Even when I'm playing with my friends (which is why I play this game), I'm still getting soo angry at the game that I end up logging off.

Exactly what i wrote under one of your latest videos. As long as community isn't about having fun, this game won't be good. Content creators driving kids to look for any kind of additional advantage over other players. It's constant "looking for glitchy moves" fest with strong encourage to selfish playstyle. Most players use same animations, there's over hundred of them in general, but only 15-20 are "playable". 2k follows this path because they now where money is. Of cours they'll support this race for most glitched build, when they now that 13yrs old kid would dump parents money on another build, if his fav YTber said that he needs 85 ball handling to get some op animations and his current build is only at 80. He wont invest few weeks of playing to get cap breakers coz "i want to win now!!". Same with bad gameplay mechanics, 2k doesn't want to punish ppl with low basketball IQ, because they'd quit after 5th heavy challenged layup not going in. So now we have broken post scoring, same with steals. It's basically "spam one button" with "get high steal rating" instead of "good timing and positioning pays off". Whole gameplay is driven too much on animations.

As a red plate, it’s not fun at all. I can’t fire this game up to have fun anymore it’s a sweat fest every single game. Last year it was every now and then which is why it was tolerable. SBMM killed call of duty for me so hopefully they take it out this game.

I had a win percentage of 65 in park 2k 21 with like 800 games played. My friends who I played with didn’t understand that they only win with me because i force them to play right. Haven’t payed 2k since. I know they are struggling online against people. I could literally play a fantastic game and with no reaction from them but when they do something cool they think they are the shit lmao. I had to come to terms that’s how most people want to play in 2k. Most people who play 2k are me centered instead of team center. I was tired of explaining that. Haven’t played park 2k since. What makes you a great player isnt how you play. It’s how you make others play better. It’s about being a great teammate. It’s not that hard to learn yet no one can learn.

Honestly bro I been playing 2k16 and having a lot of fun, the only reason I got 2k23 was bc it was on sale and the gameplay against AI pretty much make shooting impossible (unless wide open) and players under 90 struggle to make layups, 2k19 was the last game I paid full price for, and I don’t plan on getting anymore 2ks

Back in the day it used to be NBA LIVE hands down. Then for some reason it just took a nose dive. Competition creates great games in the sports genre. We had NBA INSIDE DRIVE, NBA LIVE, 2K, NBA STREETS, AND 1, NBA BLALLERS. and don’t get me started with all the NFL games we had. all are gone for 1 single game. If everyone was on the same page and force EA to change or we as consumers aren’t buying but, we can’t come together for some reason so they’ll never change.
