Interesting episode...a few nuggets that I got from it: 1. Our range of emotions are normal and part of being human. 2. Obstacles, barriers, misfortunes, and set-backs have a purpose as well as the joys, triumphs, and victories in life, business, school, relationships. 3. Resilience requires problems to overcome and that's all part of life; without resistance a person doesn't grow. I think this segment discussed emotions well; emotions in a sense, allow people to set their personal priorities, boundaries, lifestyles and of course those things that are acceptable or unacceptable in life. I'm an optimist, always have been, and I've personally have come to understand that issues that in the moment are difficult or seem to be unfair or appear to have nothing but negative life impacts have been the things that have solidified my character, allowed me to eventually humble me, or in some circumstances just have taught me lessons that needed to be learned in order for me to grow. Our emotions properly understood allow access to our spirit which enables us to fully and authentically experience life...the good and the bad all have a purpose in the big picture :)
I agree with everything you’ve said! The good, the great, the bad and the ugly are all required and aren’t bad, even when they hard stuff feel bad in the moment. Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate it!
Absolutely love this conversation 👏👏👏 I listened to a therapist who encouraged their clients to trade the word "anxious" with another word such as stressed or overwhelmed or nervous. Name your feelings and use that to help catapult yourself to a better place mentally. I find I strive under pressure and when things are good there's little drive to push out of my comfort zone. Thanks for all of the encouragement, positivity and most importantly laughs sissy's 🥰
What great advice! Name those dang emotions to what they actually are so you can unpack why we are feeling that way and get through them! Thank you for listening and always sharing your wisdom!
Great episode yet again! I have 3 thoughts/comments… 1. Jamie I need your tshirt! lol 😂 2. Dayle if it was my event that you talked about you did fantastic so maybe none to little prep works in some cases! 3. On the feeling of Anxiety…do you think that anxiety is maybe a “bad” or hard emotion with negative impact, where as nervous is more so the feeling that helps to push you to do the thing? Just a thought 😊
I love Jay's shirt too! It wasn't your event. Thankfully yours was a panel that didn't require me to speak in a keynote style. lol. I agree that words like nervous are much better ways to define the emotion that just calling all nerves anxiety. Thank you for listening and sharing your amazing perspective! We love it.
