Are You Acting Like a Founder?
Entrepreneurs are required to wear so many different hats and all too often, we forget about the driving force that pushes us to scale our business and grow: dreaming. In today’s episode of Proof It’s Possible, we’re chatting all about the challenges of being a founder, especially the balancing act of channelling multiple roles while trying to maintain focus on the bigger picture. We get it - your business is your baby and relinquishing that control isn’t easy. If you’re finding yourself bogged down by doing all the small tasks in your business, then this is your sign to let go. Tune in to hear more about:
• How being too busy can hinder your business growth by leaving little room for dreaming and big-picture thinking.
• The importance of trusting others to handle tasks that are keeping you from working in your zone of genius.
• Why you shouldn’t cling to control and how to offload tasks to the right people.
• Getting comfortable with discomfort as a signal that you’re moving in the right direction.
• Tips for identifying the tasks you can (and should) delegate to scale your business.
It’s time to embrace a growth mindset and embody your true role as CEO. What roles do you struggle to let go of? Have you hired someone to take on some of your workload? What was your experience? Tell us over instagram and let’s connect in the DMs @dayle_sheehan_designs & @jamiedfrancis!

You've gotta use what you got! It's hard to not get into our heads and feel like we are repeating ourselves but not everyone sees all of our content and as consumers we need to see products and services many times to register the item and then decide to buy. We all have some pain points to work through with sales, but sales drive all businesses!

Dang you girls nailed it with this one. I think what makes me buy is a few things… 1. I wanna know that you use it and why you love it 2. When it’s pitched to me without me knowing it’s being pitched to me 3. When I can easily go read more (about, make, color, cost etc) without feeling like I’m suddenly a private investigator 4. Lastly I’m a sucker for a good deal, so if there’s some crazy discount code that will save me mad cash, IM IN 😂

Great conversation ✨ my opinion is that there is enough success for everyone that PUTS IN THE WORK foundationally. My guess is that someone scooping another’s framework MAY have some success in the short term but long term they have missed the foundation. The easy button doesn’t exist and the people that don’t see and embody that will likely not succeed. I like the idea Dayle about charging for it if that’s what they want. I would 💯 have the conversation if I felt like it was competitive… like “hey, I get that you think my business is a great idea for you, but you’re not going to succeed in this industry by copy paste” the value in coaching is personal experience and extremely unique to the coach and I think that applies to other personal business. Those are my thoughts. Love what you ladies are doing!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻

    • @proofitspossiblepodcast
      @proofitspossiblepodcast 3 місяці тому

I totally agree that there's room for everyone to be wildly successful! The cool thing is that we are all unique and just because you emulate someone's program doesn't make you the same (in your case) coach. Your personal experience is what makes you special. I love that Jamie outlined the difference between collaboration and competition. We LOVE collaborating with women when it's mutually beneficial. Thank you for listening!

@@proofitspossiblepodcast absolutely! 👍💯 you’ve raised a major roadblock issue with women in business being too giving of their value and not receiving a return. Saying no and having that boundary is a sticking point in our people pleasing culture. I hope hearing these conversations enables more women to make the perspective shift from people pleasing to protecting their value and upholding their boundaries.

Interesting episode...a few nuggets that I got from it: 1. Our range of emotions are normal and part of being human. 2. Obstacles, barriers, misfortunes, and set-backs have a purpose as well as the joys, triumphs, and victories in life, business, school, relationships. 3. Resilience requires problems to overcome and that's all part of life; without resistance a person doesn't grow. I think this segment discussed emotions well; emotions in a sense, allow people to set their personal priorities, boundaries, lifestyles and of course those things that are acceptable or unacceptable in life. I'm an optimist, always have been, and I've personally have come to understand that issues that in the moment are difficult or seem to be unfair or appear to have nothing but negative life impacts have been the things that have solidified my character, allowed me to eventually humble me, or in some circumstances just have taught me lessons that needed to be learned in order for me to grow. Our emotions properly understood allow access to our spirit which enables us to fully and authentically experience life...the good and the bad all have a purpose in the big picture :)

When we level up, our communities often need to change too. We don't need to make our existing communities wrong but sometimes we need new people to journey with us, inspire us and help us move in a new direction. This is not something that will happen naturally, it often requires work to find the right people. The great news is there are so many amazing entrepreneurs and big dreamers to align with! I remember my first hater. It was pre social media, when blogs first started. My now husband was playing in the OHL. We had just started dating and I was unaware of these online blogs, specifically those that spoke on OHL players. One of my besties was snooping around on the blog and found a post about me and my relationship with my then boyfriend. The gist of it was “his new gf is so huge she’s like China the wrestler but with blonde hair. She could carry him on her back down the street like a refrigerator”. Ouch🥺 That hurt. I’ll never forget those words. That was when my rose coloured glasses fell off and I realized that people you didn’t know could hurt you so badly. On the positive, 20yrs later China the wrestler and that OHL player are happily married with two beautiful children 🥰 Haters gonna hate is right!

The big takeaway is if a person is self-aware; they can use mistakes for future growth and improvement. Regardless of how big or small the mistake is/was. Also; I don't think when we as humans make mistakes that it is healthy to stay in the space for too long. As your podcast basically said "Own it. Learn from it. Move on". Sometimes not so easy but also something that is a necessary life skill; your investment in a situation, business deal, or even a relationship might be unwarranted if the other party isn't equally invested as well :) Great podcast once again!

A giant ship’s engine failed. The ship’s owners tried one ‘professional’ after another but none of them could figure out how to fix the broken engine. Then they brought in a man who had been fixing ships since he was young. He carried a large bag of tools with him and when he arrived immediately went to work. He inspected the engine very carefully, top to bottom. Two of the ship’s owners were there watching this man, hoping he would know what to do. After looking things over, the old man reached into his bag and pulled out a small hammer. He gently tapped something. Instantly, the engine lurched into life. He carefully put his hammer away and the engine was fixed!!! A week later, the owners received an invoice from the old man for $10,000. What?! the owners exclaimed. “He hardly did anything..!!!”. So they wrote to the man; “Please send us an itemized invoice.” The man sent an invoice that read: Tapping with a hammer………………….. $2.00 Knowing where to tap…………………….. $9,998.00 Effort is important but experience and knowing where to direct that effort makes all the difference.

I enjoyed this podcast! The interior design stuff...not so much...I was lost when you started discussing color palates as most guys are...lol. Digital presence-DIY or Professional? Depends on the purpose and the level of your personal expertise. Clothing...classy and comfortable always supersedes any trends for me. Activities...alone or with people. Both; but this also depends on your personal circumstances. When you are single, as I am, you either learn to enjoy activities solo or you might never leave the house. Of course I enjoy spending time with my kids, family, and friends as much as possible but I've also learned and willed myself to travel, dine, and even go to movies by myself. Travelling alone is actually cool as a male, I don't fear for my safety generally speaking, and I've actually met some cool people in my travels that I might not have travelling as a family or couple. Interesting podcast...keep them coming and I'll keep watching them.

I have no clue why this popped up on my feed lol but I THOROUGHLY enjoyed listening to you two talk. I’m a millennial, just turned 30, and I think about this topic a lot. I don’t smoke weed or do drugs, so that might be why I rely on alcohol so much in social settings. As I get older, I feel worse and worse, physically and mentally when I drink on the weekends, and can tell that it is poison to my body lol. There’s an app called sunny side that focuses on not quitting drinking but just drinking less & managing it better, which I think is great because cutting things out cold turkey is definitely hard. Yall have a new subscriber! Love from VA 💕

Accountability is an interesting thing...trust, honesty, and objectivity all play a role in having people around you that make you accountable. I think ideas have to based on truth, facts, and perhaps even research...accountability is foundationally based on the "road map or plan" of where or what one wants or needs to accomplish. I've always believed that the "big picture" or "long term" destination is definitely a part of accomplishing short term and long term goals. Pace and purpose or unique for all individuals based on each person's value systems and moral code. I've never been driven to acquire wealth; working in education and the teaching profession provides me with experiences and riches that really are intangible. My value starts and ends with each day providing me the opportunity in my classroom to change the world through developing [positive relationships with my students and sending them into the world to "do no harm" and "leave the world a better place than when they arrived". Perhaps a little of topic; but my accountability for my life and labor isn't defined by personal gain but in satisfying and serving a loving God that transcends my human condition. Is that a strange take on this podcast? Maybe; but that's my two bits :) Keep cranking these thoughtful and engaging pod casts out. Peace & Love

Another great podcast...fun to watch! I'm a sports guy: golf, curling, bowling, skiing, swimming, kayaking, skating are my "go to" activities. I also cherish spending time with family. Reading a good book. I'm learning more about yoga, meditation and activities that center me. I actually LIKE spending time with Penn; he's full of energy and it keeps me on my toes and feeling young when I'm with him. (I'm not sure I could do it every day though...full transparency...lol)

I would not survive without dry shampoo 😂🤪💁 Look good, feel good is right! You need to feel like you deserve the good things in life so the world can ship it to you 🙌 Recently I was a volunteer on a school trip and noticed another Mum's appearance... I didn't want to judge, but this person was wearing sloppy Uggs, thong hung out and was slamming a king size Monster energy drink throughout the trip. I felt sad and thought, this person doesn't value herself and I wish I could show her how being good to your body can be good for your soul. Love this conversation and learning with you both x

I have this conversation with my husband often, if we regularly set our expectations too high for others we will feel disappointed constantly. For example, when we are driving he is easily annoyed by other drivers. My ask is, do you expect all drivers to be as good as you? If so, you're setting yourself for failure and then anger will immediately follow. I prefer to assume everyone driving around me is terrible and expect a lot of bad decisions, all while hoping for the best. In life we are the opposite, I am the optimist and my husband's glass is half empty, but when driving the roles reverse... 🤔

Another great episode!! Such a good topic. As a wheelchair user and someone with a physical disability I think I have a honed skill of reality vs expectation. I constantly am trying to balance my expectations of caregivers without disrupting my reality. The struggle is real lol.
