We went winter camping on the AuSable River in Northern Michigan!

- We took a quick weekend getaway to the Cooke Dam Pond, part of the AuSable River in the Huron-Manistee National Forest in northern Michigan. Along the way we stop in Pinconning at Williams Cheese House to pick up some snacks for the trip. While there was not any snow this year, it was still cold but we enjoyed the solitude of camping in the winter and the amazing views of the water from high above where we set up camp for the night. We hope you enjoy our video and please like and subscribe to our channel so you don't miss out on any future adventures! Thank you for watching!

Beautiful camp spot!
Thank you!
Great video and sound. I'll be watching for more. Thanks!
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it! We have some fun trips planned this summer and going to do our best to get out for short weekends in between!
Beautiful spot to camp and that cheese looked delicious!! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it! It is a great spot to camp. During the summer months it is a difficult spot to get. The cheese was great too!
On behalf of this camper thank your daughter for me. We need more outdoor lovers to pick up trash.
She really loves taking care of our environment and leaving places better than we found them. Thank you for watching!
I lived in Oscoda for a few years, so I spent most weekends fishing/canoeing at Cooke & Foote damns. Beautiful country up there. Oh - and get yourself a small chainsaw. Makes those blocked trails so much faster to clear!
I grew up in Mio and spent a ton of time on the river between Luzerne and the 4001 bridge. A 40 volt saw is on my list. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! It definitely is a great area to spend time outdoors up there!
Great channel! Hope we'll cross paths so I can check out that sweet camper!
That would be great! We came across your channel when we were first starting to research smaller campers after deciding to sell our 30’ trailer so we could get in to more places like this one!
@@adventure.anywhere I hope you've liked the tiny camper lifestyle as much as I have, it looks like you're making a great channel!
Beauty weekend for an overnight!! Nice camp spot too!! J & C
It was great. Can’t wait to get out again! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful campground, wouldn't mind visiting there someday. Thanks for sharing.
It really is! There are several National Forest campsites along the AuSable. We can’t wait to check out more of them! Thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed it!
Looks like a great site. I usually stay at site #2 or #3, just north of the Alcona Dam
It’s got a lot of space and some great views, especially when the leaves are down. I’d like to get up there and check out some other sites in the off season. I can’t plan far enough ahead to get any weekend reservations usually before they are all booked up.
@@adventure.anywhere I got site #2 for 4 days in October...hoping for good weather
👍
Thanks for watching!
Thanks 🙏🏼
You're Welcome! We're glad you enjoyed it!
First mistake! Wilson's in downtown is way better than Williams just off the expressway! Most fudgies do that! Lol
Cool!
Is that a Hiker trailer? Looks kinda like it. If so what size and how do you guys like it?
It’s actually a custom built trailer by our friend Dan at Bluewater Overland. We have a small bunk that goes over our feet for our daughter that we can remove once she has outgrown it and it is lightweight and easy to get in to tight spots. Size wise it’s pretty similar to hiker and I have seen some of them close up and they seem to be well built too.
Here is a short tour of the cabin and kitchen

Sorry but these kids have no clue what they are doin! And it could be fatal!
Lucky to be alive after 30 years of doing it all wrong.
I’m assuming this is meant to be sarcasm. Text makes this difficult to appreciate.
@@TheMonkdadnot sure what this guys deal was lol 🤷♂️
Beautiful view and a darn good camp spot 👍🇺🇸Rogers city Michigan here 👍👍👍
Thanks for watching! We get up to that area a couple times a year. We really like to try to make it to Ocqueoc Falls on a hot day to go swimming in the summer.
We camp very close to those sites sawmill point on Cooke dam road
We have checked those sites out in the past. They look nice too! Thanks for watching!
