_Cool and interesting video, the exciting of solo camping at Michigan's Upper Peninsula is completely and clearly exposed. Great to be able to watched it, thank you so much for always sharing wonderful inspiration._
Two dumb questions: 1. What are the rules/regulations/laws on just cutting wood? It seems everywhere I've ever camped you are not allowed to just cut your own firewood. 2. What is your setup for using the bathroom? This is NEVER shown in these types of videos. Great video.
Thanks for watching! Not dumb questions at all. 1. The rules change based on where you're camping, so check local locals. But for the national forest in MI, I'm free to collect and burn any dead and downed wood. Any fires must be contained in provided metal fire rings, portable fire rings, or a stove like mine. I couldn't just start a bonfire on the ground, the fire must be contained. 2. Ha, yeah, wasn't quite ready to tackle a video on this one. I keep a wide mouth gatorade bottle for nighttime peeing. Everything else has to be packed out, no catholes this time of year. I use a combination of a bucket to sit on and bags to hold everything. Once a bag has been 'used', it gets stored in the snow until I'm ready to leave camp.
A precooked packet of rice. I have a few different brands I go through ranging from Costco to Wuju (maker of great hot sauce). It's a small serving for me, so it pairs well with other food I've cooked.
G'day, 83 subscribers 133 likes 9,400 views ?? U tube playing up again?? well make that 84 & 134 and 9,401 I have found 3 Aussie camping U tubers recently but none of them talk - I found myself skipping ahead out of boredom. Love the snow - don't get that in sunny Queensland. Great vid
I'm a new UA-camr, but have spent plenty of time in the woods. Unsure on the YT stats. Thanks for watching! I will add more videos in time, and continue to narrate through them.
Snow and slow. The UP can be stunningly beautiful but it's a different lifestyle up there. Everything is pretty spread out and life moves a little slower.
Awesome job dude I'm glad I found your channel! Keep up the camping trips!
Nice job Malcolm! Interesting and informative. Liked the background music also. Food looked darn good too! Looking forward to more of your adventures.
Thanks Mike! Working to get more videos out there. I've just been enjoying the outdoors too much recently.
Great video Malcolm and a great adventure! You really know how to survive out there ;) Love the editing and your positive aura. Nice one
Thanks for watching and the positive comments!
As a Floridian who struggled to survive the southern Michigan winter you sir are a madman 😂😂😂
Greeting from Plymouth, Michigan.
This looks like heaven to me. I used to spend time in Dickinson County on the Wisconsin border.
