Another nice instructional video! I'm thinking that the stretching might help my golf game too. I don't have a lot of flexibility right now, trying to transform from powerlifting at the gym to more toning.
I did 100 of these squats at a level 6. While I was 'slightly' sore shortly afterward, I do not feel the burn as I would had I actually done 100 regular squats. I'm very skeptical the Total Gym would really make any difference. =(
+Mixaleena ... that's my concern as well when doing my research on the total gym. Is it even truly effective for any lower body exercise? Have you tried single leg squats and have you tried adding weights (using the weight bar attachment)?
Well she doesn't have a booty so I suppose it won't build it because there's no weight to make your muscles grow. This machine is more for strength and toning.
+Steph R. .... Finally got around to working out again after an injury at the local gym. Actually there is a way to make your muscle grow with the total gym for both upper and lower body using the weight bar accessory with weight plates or resistance bands such as the Elitefts bands. Even without the additional accessories, to increase resistance for the upper body, simply *detaching the pulley from the glideboard will ramp up the resistance. In order to up the resistance for lower body, the additional weight bar + weight plates or resistance bands will be required.* This is coming from a guy that was skeptical about this contraption for the longest time until I found a free platinum one via craigslist about 6 months ago. I tried it out and knew it was a good piece of machinary. I know I am pretty weak comparatively (max ever deadlift 415lb, max ever squat 275lb, max ever bench 235lb; my bench and squat has always been terrible; can't hit those numbers now due to injury that causes me to take about 1 year and a half off of working out). It actually works better if you lay sideways on the glideboard and do single leg squats, and even better when using resistance bands attached to the weight bar accessory. Even though I still have a 24 hour fitness membership and do squats, deadlifts, I'm actually using the total gym for 100% of my upper body exercises.

If you have the XLS or the FIT version, get the weight bar attachment via QVC and buy some resistance bands ( www.elitefts.com/shop/bars-weights/bands.html ). Don't buy them at MSRP, wait until there is a sale. Weight bar + resistance bands + laying on your sides to do single leg squats will change your mind about whether or not it'll give you a better leg workout.
HOW is burn possible without ligament practice ? bone to bone it doesn't conduct fire and heat element (Physics.) Wow, I know every thing about Physics. 🙂
I didn't know that when you raise the level of resistance it gets harder I've had a total gym for very long time and I really never understood that concept until now thank you for explaining it to me so clearly I love you do you love me? God loves you more than anybody so does Jesus and so does the Holy Spirit
Folks don't believe in hitting my muscle at different angle and trajectory. I mean if a tough stone is under a Sculptor's tutelage it needs to go through multi-angle treatment. Then last it needs to possibly go through acid wash maybe another dry coat another microfiber polish etc..

Take a hammer damn thing doesn't crack until you angle it at with trajectory. Unique how Creator' made stones.
Those machines are a waste of energy.
