Manmohan Singh not only didn't have to worry about his country's Army, he also didn't have to worry about the opponents in his own Congress Party. Because he had the 100% backing of his Prime Minister, Narasimha Rao.
Without Narasimha Rao's backing there would have been no way for Manmohan Singh to accomplish what he did as Finance Minister 1991-2001.
Proof of this is in the performance of the Indian economy under Manmohan Singh himself, this time as Prime Minister 2001-2014. He was constantly being interfered with by his Congress Party bosses the Nehru/Gandhi family, and thus the Indian economy suffered. That paved the way for BJP to return under Modi in 2014, and therefore the political death of the Congress Party now.

Sad to say, but he won't be able to do much. He stopped trade with India and preferred to import the goods at 4X price. He is stupid and does not understand Pakistan's priorities. He is not able to help himself, so forget helping Pakistan. Yes is the most popular leader, but he lacks basic knowledge of ruling people.

@@usmantariq7997 Let me enlighten you!! Yes, Imran was responsible for the 6% GDP growth in his last year, not because of any sane economic policies but because of insane policies. The GDP number is inflated because of massive imports and consumption in that year. If you don't understand how GDP is calculated, it is the right time for you to get educated. Imran is so stupid, that he spent tons of precious $$ on imports creating an issue with the Balance of Payment". For example, because of his ego, he stopped trading with India and started buying the same Indian goods or produce from Dubai at 4X rates, and that too he spent in USD. He had an opportunity to buy the same goods at a cheaper rate and that too in Indian Rupees from India. In summary, the 6% growth numbers are misleading. Your economy tanked because of your massive import bills and your reserves have depleted.
@@usmantariq7997 Yes Imran was responsible for 6% GDP growth in his last year. Not because of good fiscal policies but because of bad policies. The growth was fueled due to excessive imports and consumption within Pakistan. This is a BAD growth as domestically you are not generating anything. It also had impact on Pakistan's foreign exchange reserves as imports bill went up. Imran for his ego stopped trading with India instead he started buying Indian goods, medicines and fresh produce from Dubai. The stuff he could have bought in INR, he paid USD and that too at 4X rate. I think you should read articles on his fiscal policies which harmed your nation.

No change will take place unless basic reforms like landreforms, smaller provinces are done. It is also said that people in Pakistan spend huge amounts on charity and showoff but do not pay taxes. Loan will be some how obtained but it will be spent on luxury of elite class and army .

The discussion on the IMF and economic strategies was enlightening. Initially, there should be a focus on developing an industrial base prior to imposing taxes on real estate. I recall Imran Khan implementing similar measures early on, which initially harmed the economy. However, the subsequent establishment of an industrial framework in Faisalabad and easing restrictions on real estate led to a remarkable economic upturn. Unfortunately, the present administration lacks direction and seems unlikely to drive significant economic progress.
The IMF's strategy is not designed to increase growth in Pakistan, which at the very least would require low interest rates and/or higher public sector spending. Instead, it is designed to keep the country open for international capital to do business.
