"I believe that the President has learned..."
Lemme stop you right there.
The president has "learned" that he can do whatever the f*ck he wants and get away with it.
Lolol perfect

Senator Collins and her colleague Lamar Alexander both said that Our President has learned... Such gall.
You usually need a brain to do that...
@@wondermama8179 Remember, he has an Article II that says he can do anything he wants. "A lot of people don't like to talk about that" but the Senate just confirmed it.
23 GOP Senate seats are up on November 3rd, we’ll remember.
I hope the one that out of all of them to get voted out is Mitch McConnell he’s literally the worst thing ever, and also the Susan Collins and that other guy for there completely BS pathetic excuses.
@w9j15g Minus 1 for Doug Jones. That seat will surely be lost this election. It's not a very good Senate map this year for Dems.
Not likely. Not likely at all.

"JUST GIVE IT TO THE PERSON WHO GETS THE MOST VOTES!"
I agree with Mayor Pete on this one: Bernie wins Iowa :-P
it could all be so simple....
So the popular vote
Exactly!
Well it's technically so more rural Precincts have any incentive to gather up and Caucus in the first place.
When it takes you a half an hour to drive to your polling place and about an hour to do the actual Caucus, you tend to put it off.
I think Bernie is going to get more Delegates thanks to Caucus Turnouts however.
Mitt Romey, the only republican left with a spine.
Thank you Mitt for voting you conscience.
I don't know. I feel like the Republicans are just preparing their most likely candidate for 2024, so they need him to have plausible deniability in this sham.
I WANT to believe he's got a Conscience instead. But I just feel the senators realized many members of their base would lose their faith in them after this, so they needed at least one of them to keep some semblance of credibility.
Totally theorizing here.
Mitt didn’t vote to convict on article 2

This line is the whole problem summed up:
"I believe that the President has learned..."
If you do a crime and the evidence supports that you did it, you get convicted. You are not acquitted from a court with a "The jury believes that the accused has learned his lesson by being in this trial, and propably won't do it again". Stupid American system.
Martin Eriksson absolutely! I guess now we could use this ‘impeachment trial’ as a benchmark when murderers, robbers and fraudsters are indicted. “Oh, I think my friend, Rob has learnt his lesson on stealing from people. So no need to find him guilty because he knows better now.” I mean, if the president of the USA can get away with his crimes then we should apply this to every American standing trial.
Dude, seriously, it’s disturbing how much this has become the norm. She gives Trump WAYYY too much credit and confidence in him learning anything when he clearly has demonstrated he has no moral compass whatsoever. He’ll be on his deathbed still insisting it was a “perfect call.” And you’re totally right, I’ve never heard of anyone going to trial and being ruled “we think they learned and won’t do it again.” You guys are jurors, not parents. You either are convicted or acquitted on the charges being accused based on evidence and whitnesses, you don’t let them off the hook because “ok you seemed to learn your lesson, but next time you’re definitely grounded with no internet for a week.” Just kidding, next time we’ll take a trip to Mar-A-Lago 🙄.
Well thank you!! Someone elsewhere in the world has better sense and correct evaluation of our sad situation when about 44 percent of Americans (Republican Trumpsters) hasn't a freeking clue!!!Good to know there's someone else around the world who can see right is right and wrong is wrong...What a concept!

Been calling Romney's office throughout the impeachment process; as he is one of my senators. I'm glad to see him have a back bone, and do the right thing.
If he has a backbone, it's Jelly!!!!!
Sean, I think that Romney was the ONLY Republican Senator who voted as his constituents wished, and not how Moscow Mitch and Duma Donnie directed them to vote. The others, especially Collins and Murkowski, were bullied, bought and paid for.
Can you call him again and thank him for us? (And the founding fathers thank him, as well as the Constitution and the statute of liberty)
Thank you for doing your civic duty on behalf of all of us!
Hmm. Well then... I guess when he dies, he would rather be right with God... Than wanting to be right by Donald.

Bragging at press conference about doing what Trump was accused of doing. That is going after political opponents. Ukrainian Prosecutor is investigating Hunter Biden. Either fire the prosecutor or your not getting the $ 1 Billion dollars. Why no impeachment hearings for Joe Biden? Where's Mitt Romney standing up for moral principles ? When it's Trump he's against it ? When it's Biden then nothing to see here ?
@11:22 "So if a call like that gets you an impeachment, I would think he'd think twice before doing it again." Wait I thought the call was perfect and that he didn't do anything wrong ... so what's this "think twice before doing it again"??
Yeah, he'll think twice about how great it is that he can do anything in the world that he wants and how special and powerful it makes him feel, then he'll just go right on and do it.
Hearing the GOP chanting 4 more years makes me ill. They deserve the wrath history has in store for them
Absolutely travesty. I agree.
Like I don’t even get the mentality. Give him 4 more years to be an incompetent ass that breaks laws, then we have a hard swing Left as history predicts every time. Happens every single time.
And then he’d set dangerous precedents. Based on his actions, calling systemic racism could be considered “a national emergency” similar to how Trump declared immigration one. Asking foreign governments for political leverage against the other party is now considered unimpeachable behavior. Obstructing justice is now not a removable offense.
Like, all non-Republicans have to do now to run for office is say “this guy voted to not impeach Trump while blocking witnesses” and they get at least Democrat vote and 25% of undecided.
Like I get having 4-8 years of a Republican president, but all we have to do now is think back and I can see us having 3-4 Democratic/independent presidents. Paul Ryan won’t run. McConnell will be laughed out. Romney has a fair shot but it’s so much bad press. I honestly don’t know if anyone but Romney and Ron Paul would be viable to even run and win against a Democrat for the next 12 years.

No, he definitely learned a lesson. He learned that the vast majority of Republicans will continue to support him no matter what he does. The GOP is now officially above the law. Or more accurately, the GOP is now officially the law.
America's light is dimming; it no longer resembles the "City on the hill".
Even more accurately: Trump and those who support him enough, are above the law.
The GOP is the Cult of Trump now; any Republican who’s not in favor of Trump isn’t a “true” Republican anymore and is akin to a traitor to America now. Former supporters of Trump have been excommunicated from the Party, their careers & credibility ruined for daring to disagree with Trump or otherwise be “mean” to him. That’s why they acquitted him: they hate Trump sure, but he gets their base riled up with his rants so if they show him love then maybe his voters will re-elect them too!

No, you put the least important state first to work out the bugs because no one will remember the small states. Emily B. I don’t mean it’s an overall unimportant state. I’m sure it’s great and the people in it are great. What I’m saying in all the states that they are going to, it’s the least important in terms of winning for the candidates. Last election, candidates even backed out of that state because the delegates numbers theyd get there wasn’t worth the effort of other states. This year, the race will be tight so every caucus counts so they are there. If you think that is rude or an insult, that’s on you and your inner feelings or demons.

The ironic thing is Bill Clinton was impeached for lying under Oath. Every Republican who voted to not allow witnesses, should be prosecuted immediately for violating their Oath to be a fair and impartial juror in the impeachment trial. Particularly the ones like McConnell and Graham who publicly boasted how they had zero intention of being a fair juror. Otherwise the Oath has been proven meaningless and literally inconsequential.
