Bernie Sanders calls himself a socialist as a big middle finger to his critics who call ANYthing that helps the poor and working class socialism. In reality, Bernie Sanders' policy platform, considered far-left in this country, is considered center-left, and standard, in every other Western country. By any objective standard, Bernie Sanders is a social democrat who proposes modified capitalism in which the poor and working class are subsidized instead of the rich, with a strong safety net to prevent people from being crushed by destitution and preventable illness.
Frankie Says .... A ..fucking...Men
@DrMossydog Yes, but he responds to the critics by saying, "Sure, I am a Socialist...". The fact that so many people have zero understanding of the types of Socialism is another reason the U.S. needs expanded public education.
💙🐦🙂
If you pay taxes, you should be getting something beneficial in return. Instead of increased military spending, for which there always seems to be enough money, the government should invest in your children’s education and your healthcare. It’s not really free stuff American's want, it’s a return on their investment (taxes). I’m tired of seeing rich people get all the advantages and people who work hard every day paying for it. ~ With love from your "Socialist" neighbour, Canada.

Chris Matthews seriously needs to be fired. He's comparing Bernie to Nazis, and the Nazi's literally wiped out a chunk of Bernie's family. Disgusting.
Pretty bad for Chris Matthews. He wAs wrong and needs to apologize.

This is why he's going to lose not because he's humble but because he's acting like he gives a damn
So glad you’re talking about this Seth! The rest of the media is trying to downplay Bernie’s victory in three states.
When the far left socialist fraudulent kook known as Bernie Sanders loses to Trump in November, then Seth will get to try to squeeze out 4 more years of increasingly lame, desperate, unfunny jokes about a disaster he helped create. Enjoy the ride.

I would never in my life be so proud to be an American, if Bernie Sanders becomes our nominee. For people to unplug themselves from powerful media fear mongering, in which many of these outlets we get most of our information from about the world, is remarkable. Seth has always been a dear comic to me; my friend dislikes his smug aura but I found it endearing and authentic, especially during his closer looks. Needless to say I'm delighted to find this segment telling the truth that needed a voice.
I find Seth has always been like this. He and his staff have just become more prepared to call things as they are. He is making so much money for his network, that they can no longer even try to censor him. The show also has a good team of sympathetic lawyers!

To be precise he doesn't really call out MSNBC. He talks about corporate media instead of calling the donkey by it's name.
@@Nils_Ki that is the name of the donkey, to go with your metaphor. Same. I am an Aussie and see Bernie as the sensible candidate. As an outsider it really does seem that the critics can simply be explained as representatives of the rich that are so fearful of Bernie and Warren. I get the USA fear of big government but the free market isn't working out that well for the common person. Of course Australia has a recent history of voting against our best interests because the Murdoch media tells us to... so I am wary of sounding too smug.
I live in Montréal, Québec and I endorse this comment too.
I am an American and I support Bernie cause he cares about the average person. And our political balance is way too far to the right since Reagan.

It’s appalling!
Cynthia Arroyo yes, it’s appalling. This whole presidency has been appalling. Let’s get radical. I am a Brit, but from across the pond Bernie seems like the right choice because he is SO passionate and down to earth. I think the situation needs someone as radical as him to shift the White House back onto a rational path, as the government has strayed so far from the best way for the majority of Americans.
Stephen Colbert

Is Samantha Bee worth revisiting? I ignored her since she kinda started her show as a Hillary shill and couldn't take her seriously.
I've said this before about Jon Stewart: it's sad that we get more objective coverage from comedy shows than MSNBC, the supposedly liberal news channel. Btw, Seth and Chris Matthews are technically part of the same network, so huge respect to Seth for calling out his nonsense.
I remember back in the day they did a test on pple who got their tv news primarily from jon Stewart's daily show VS those who watch cnn, fox, MSNBC. Pple who watched daily show were more informed on current affairs
Dude you remember Jon Stewart way differently and with nostalgia rather than facts. Stewart was a shill. A kind, sometimes funny shill, but a shill nevertheless. A player in the game.

Seth Myers, thank you for covering this! You're right! Bernie 2020!
Bernie is doing so well because he is not pandering. He has the same position he has had for the past few decades and this is a verifiable fact from many videos of him speaking over the years. He is genuine. He is not seeking fame or fortune by means of popularity but is genuinely concerned about the future of this country and the world. If you look back at the other candidates and where they stand on issues compared with Bernie you will quickly realize that Bernie has had the most conviction regardless of popularity. He doesn't care about being popular, he cares about what is right and just. Bernie is also not a socialist by any means. He calls himself a democratic socialist but that absolutely does not make him a political socialist.
Back in the "good ol' days", tax rates on the rich were over double what they are now. It essentially forced the rich to invest in their companies, employees, and communities instead of paying a huge amount of money to Uncle Sam. This is what made America great. Families could live comfortably on one income. Communities could run comfortably with low taxes.
There is not a single person who EARNS $1 million a year. Think about that long and hard. No one person works that hard and contributes that much without working off the backs of many thousands of people.

BERNIE PEOPLE....BERNIE PEOPLE....BERNIE PEOPLE....BERNIE PEOPLE...👀.

But her show gets murdered every time she has half a fact wrong (seriously, she gets treated like LWT?!) so she has to tell the truth and if you do that there really isn't a lot to hate on Bernie for/with. Innuendo and opinions fly free there though but I've never seen her attack Sanders.
@@lemonielala3080 You're defending Russiagate Maddow? You know she gets paid $30k/day to spew bs conspiracy theories?
This is honestly the most unbiased coverage I’ve ever seen on bernie by anyone on any cable network this entire cycle. I’m watching Seth from now on. #bernie2020
lol if by "unbiased" you mean "completely biased towards Bernie" then yes. BTW how did this video age?
@@MrRight1297 Bruh, seth was right on the money. He showed polls and compared it to biased thing Other people said about Bernie. He talked about how the establishment was freaking out and wanted to stop Bernie or convence voters that he wasn't viable. Bernie would have won if most other candidates didn't endorse Biden right before Super Tuesday and had Warren not stayed in the race. From Many polls (and seth showed one) people's second choice was very often Bernie, and if voters split the way predicted in those polls, rather than the way they did after endorsements affected their decisions, then Bernie would have easily won. smh
Allen Burt lmao so you acknowledge that Bernie couldn’t win a 1 on 1 race and he had to depend on having four opponents diluting each other’s support to win? Wow what a shitty candidate
Thank you again Seth
Why is this show the closest to accurate coverage i can find on Bernie Sanders. The Hill is great to mind you but thank you this makes the endless smears easier to handle.
Amen!!
You know, I never really watch Seth Meyers, so I'm very surprised and impressed with his coverage of Bernie. Good to see.
Yeah they're coming around. But I still sighed at the tons of jokes in previous episodes designed to make him sound like a screaming lunatic who's detached from reality.
I like Seth Myers, and I'm quite sure he didn't write those jokes, but he had to perform them. It's only now that the network is coming around to sort of fairly portray him as someone with reasonable ideas and not someone who's just loud and always screaming about the top 1%.
Honestly most of the Seth jokes were in good fun, Stephen and Trevor pulled off some weird moves on Bernie though
Watch Some More News. They did a good deep dive on this.
Kudos to Seth Myers for this bit, exposing the ridiculous bias of cable news (especially MSNBC) against Bernie.
this was the best Late Night tv piece I have seen...wow...great job Seth
I subscribed to Seth Meyers because of this. I already follow him but I hate getting constant notifications....
Thank you Seth Meyers
Admirable from Seth to present unbiased news of Bernie’s incredible victories.
especially since it was largely a critique of MSNBC and he's on NBC.
Shitbag Bernie?
Admirable of him to continue to include Warren in the conversation when everyone else is trying to erase her candidacy.
Shitbag Charles Is that you?
Rae Roa I’m surprised 😯 how funny 😆 and acerbic this is
I love that Seth is being so pro Bernie and he's criticizing the media, including MSNBC!
Not my joke but....MSBendTheKnee
the thing is he isnt being probernie. he is just speaking the truth and covering Bernie fairly.
@@just1desi These days, being ok with Bernie makes you a 'communist' apparently 😂
@@just1desi yeah but a lot of media coverage just isn't fair to him. I mean they have repeatedly undermined him with how they report the polls, by grouping "moderates" and "progressive" separately as if what we want are really different. I mean they finally have taken him in to account after being the front runner 3 times. Even now with South Carolina they're saying oh Biden is going to win, but he's not winning by a huge margin and Bernie is still rising in the polls
I literally had to come back and listen to the James Carville joke🤣😂🤣.
Thank you for not being like the mainstream media. I was worried that when I clicked on this video it would just be more irrational anti-bernie bias. Thanks for not making this about his politics, thank you for making it about the media's bias.
I've a newfound respect for Myers for doing this segment.
I've always felt that behind the veil of smugness he projects is an authentic person who likes comedy, and I've always liked him more than other TV comics for that reason.
John Oliver and Jon Stewart aside, I really respect what Seth has been trying to do despite being under MSNBC employment.
@@vdinh143 John Oliver is a puppet who holds no views of his own. Watch his Last Week Tonight episode on Medicare for All. Damn shame. Only Seth Meyers and Jimmy Fallon have given decent coverage to Bernie. Everyone else spites him and you can see.

I'll have to check you out again 🏇 `
Thank you for pointing out the truth!
"james carville always looks like he was released naked into a louisiana goodwill and given five minutes to find an outfit" ....great line
at least Carville knows how to get a Democrat in the White House... which is more than Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver will ever know. And more than Seth Meyers will ever know either... Meyers will be forever remembered as the guy who made bank off of the Trump presidency by being the fake opposition and sacrificing his comedic art for useless partisan hackery.
@@willritter4076 "at least Carville knows how to get a Democrat in the White House"
Tell that to Hillary Clinton. Jackass.
Will Ritter and you will be remembered for nothing.
They should stop running anti-Bernie adds since I don't see the many against one dynamic is not going to end before Sanders wins considering Bloomberg hasn't even entered the race yet. Assume Sanders is the nominee until you see a big change and someone other than Bernie is chaining wins.
I love the fact that there is a writers room, and someone specificaly wrote that line..
I have never admired Seth Meyers more, he had the guts to tell the truth instead of pandering to the establishment Democrats like so many others are doing
You admire him for being completely 100% wrong about every take he made in this video?
Great job Seth, this was more fair and informative than pretty much anywhere else on cable.
Thank You Seth!
Seth Meyers is what you call a fact-based investigative journalist. I think MSNBC and CNN can take a page out of how Seth analyse current issues in an objective manner.
I like seth. He's great and is about the only late night host who seems to be a real progressive. But I dont think hes much of a journalist. It's probably more his writers and staff.
Lol he's not quite a journalist but it is a pretty sad world when a late night comedy talk show talks more reason than every major news media network
Lol.... I love him but he's a fucking comedian
Not a journalist
msnbc in particular is the worst of the bunch. since cnn hired andrew yang, they've at least had a progressive voice to call them out on their bs, and they even occasionally have on sam sedar and various bernie surrogates. msnbc would never.
don't get me wrong, cnn still heavily favors the corporate oligarch class, but msnbc is on another level of terrible.
Sometimes he doesn't take it far enough where he's going though. Like the reason the networks are combining the other candidates is because they know that those candidates are trying to survive until the convention to sell out their delegates to the one they think should win. This is why Bernie needs to win by a landslide or else the DNC will cheat him in the end.
You know something is wrong with the News Media when the Comedy Show Hosts do a better job at being Neutral and Objective.
To be honest, the Opinion Hosts Shows ruined the Public Trust in the News Channels.
I'd argue that news show hosts ruined public trust in themselves
That is a very ironic observation when you consider that Marxist Leninist economics demands that "Objectivism" be "stricken" from the record in places like parks, sports stadiums, and wooded areas hopefully near a well placed slit trench.
@Boba Fett I am currently reading Mikhail Sholokhov's Nobel prize winning masterpiece "And Quiet Flows the Don". A book which almost succeeded in prompting the execution of it's author after accusations of objectivity in his descriptions of pre revolutionary Russia. Slavic Lit. Bi0tch
@Boba FettThe compounding sub theme of all major works of Slavic Literature from Pushkin to Dostoevsky is that Those who support subversive Ideological substrates typified by Marxist Leninism are unworthy of even basic social niceties. Bi0tch.

Well I wanted Andrew Yang to win, because I feel the USA needs to change on how it's run. But Bernie Sanders is the next best thing here hoping he wins, since their both not corrupt.
That's funny
It is really dumb to combine everyone and say, “people like these three more than this 1 person”
Its unfortunate, but young democrats are up against everyone. We're against old and young republicans, we're against centrists/moderates, we're even against the our own OLD GUARD democrats.
It really is a stacked game against the young democrat. Its ironic that we have this old guy as our symbol of hope, but then again they're ALL old, so theres not really a choice. The system really is rigged. Lets hope Bernie can pull a rabbit out of his hat and bring back democracy to this OLD CORRUPTED BROKEN ass system.
Well those three are much closer together in policy positions, so if two were to drop out, then their voters would likely go to the remaining one and would beat Bernie.
They will try anything really.
I've missed you Seth, hope you and the team enjoyed the well deserved break. So glad you're back !!!!!

It's astonishing that, in the US, you get better political coverage from a late night host than from actual political commentators 🤦🏻♂️
It's not even just this one commentator. Stephen Colbert, Trevor Noah, John Oliver all tend to be more informative and less bullshitty than regular, non-comedic newscasters, even as they spend half their airtime making silly jokes to keep the audience's interest.
This has been true for years, sadly. I started watching Jon Stewart's "The Daily Show" and considered it more informative and less biased than Fox News or CNN.
@@LLJKCicero I agree 100% on John Oliver! Stephen Colbert and Trevor Noah have their establishment biases, as well... Still, they're not claiming to provide objective and unbiased new, sooo.... And they're funny :)
It's because they're not actually "political commentators", they're talking heads spouting their personal opinion as fact, ignoring polling data, doing no actual research, and then manufacturing consensus by interviewing others from within their NYC/DC/CA bubble. MSNBC and CNN are basically mouthpieces for the DNC at this point, so it's not really a surprise that they're freaking out and missing what's right in front of them. The fact that Tucker Carlson, on Fox, has been fairer to Bernie than most of the other network hosts, should be a major wake-up call.
@@AJD09FB sad but true... Luckily, we got the internet and can read actual studies/policies/polling data/etc...
