This is a very sensible battery design. Not like Tezla's insanity of soldering together a thousand AA-size lithium bombs. If EVs have a future, it is Toyota, not Tezla.
Hey! I really appreciate the good words! Keeps me making videos. I should have a restock on these coming in by the end of the month if you don't find them elsewhere.
To balance nimh battery packs, a circuit with two 1n4007 diodes in series plus a resistance of 1 to 10 ohms is used. The voltage drop in each diode is 0.7 volt x 2 is 1.4 volts. The resistance limits the intensity of the balancing current. Being soldered to all Ni cells this increases the life and performance of the battery pack.
@@PalmettoBatteryPros hello what's your views on reconditioning and i heard you mentioned 100000km or four years the pack should give, does it needs to be reconditioned during that period of just maintenance of the fan cooling system is needed?
I have a plug in hybrid 2013. it has 56 cell x 3.7V 21Ah. I'd like to build another pack with same total voltage from 65 cells 3.2V Lifepo4 50Ah. In my opinion voltage sensors should be scammed by voltage divider resistors except total voltage. And of course I should measure cell voltages by another method to detect any error. What do you think, would it work?
I have a Question. How much is the total weight you think In LBS? I been looking with no luck. I'm working out some math here. It would really help. No one will tell me the total LBS of that Prius Battery. Thank you. Thumbs Up!!! FOUND IT for a: TOYOTA PRIUS HYBRID 2010-2015 RATED BATTERY CELL CAPACITY: 6.5 AH BATTERY PACK WEIGHT: 85 LBS. (Including case & electronics) 85LBS
The chemistry and specs are identical. These aftermarket battery kits are not made by Toyota. I personally prefer the cylindrical modules due to cooling/spacing. I see a lot of heat deterioration that causes stress and unbalancing issues.
u didnt take the ECU apart, 4 screws on the cover .. reveals the visual of the PCB --- which tells u alot , but if pins looks ok outside prob "" ok on the inside ..
its a nice kit and air flow is vastly impvored not to mention overall reliability because u have less connections to potenitially get corroded .. hoewever .. the pirice point is not pretty .. those D packs (the kit) is well over $1000 ...
Half as expensive as an OEM battery and less warranty/failure issues than recons. I think they are a great value. Although, somehow prices on Ni-MH are going up, I thought due to EV demand only Li batteries were increasing.
For someone recouping expenses, by all means put that bad boy on Ebay if its salvageable. I don't have the time to run an ebay store, I've thrown away so many.

I badly need this new battery , and your video helps me a lot , thanks a lot for clear speach

watch make a basic video.

nimh batteries need permanent balancing for long life.
Excellent
Thank you!

Why does a Ford Fusion battery explode after being installed in a Prius?
I've got a P0A80 code on '10 Prius. Will this take care of the code? Or could P0A80 also be as a result of bad inverter or something else?
Rebuilding the battery with these kits will resolve this code.
Bonjour, super video mais la musique est trop forte👍
Thank you, we stopped adding the background audio.
Could you please put the link in for the rebuild kit . Good video 👍
We haven’t been selling them online due to shorty supply of inventory. We do have some in stock. Call the shop to verify. (843)744-2020
where can i buy a hybrid battery rebuild kit?
Our next order arrives in 3 weeks, we will have them available and ready to ship.
How can i buy a couple of the old wiring harnesses you all throwing out ?
Send me $50 and I'll send you 3-4 of them.
@@PalmettoBatteryPros where and how do i contact you
Hi good day how would you install a 2014 Toyota axio battery because the set up is diferente from that of the video
I have not worked on an Axio yet, but when I do I will try and produce a video.
R this type as good as original type
I believe they are, I’ve done a lot of these and have very little to no warranties
Is it better than the original battery?is it manufacturered by Toyota?

@@PalmettoBatteryPros these cells are used in Honda civic and they deteriote quickly
this cylindrical is better than traditional (parameters)?
Same specs, better cooling due to design. More room for airflow through the modules. That is probably the biggest advantage.
@@PalmettoBatteryPros thanks
@@PalmettoBatteryPros and for the price? how much for the wholepack to change it with the old ones?
Would you recommend the cylindrical or the steel prismatic version from the same company?
Cylindrical for sure.
How many Km ranging after changing battery ?
I'm not clear on your question, but the mpg sees a drastic improvement.
available for 2nd gen?
Yes
@@PalmettoBatteryPros cool, when the used pack I stuck into my 06 11-12 years ago takes a u-know-what, I'll give you guys a call.
How much this pack
We sell this battery at $1,650, but the prices are all going up.
How many amper this battery
The modules are 6.5a
I have Prius hybrid 2015 model. Can I replace my existing hybrid battery with high range? Currently this car is giving 500miles for 9.5 gal gas.
I'm not familiar with high range...?
Мужики я такие на алиэкспресс видел цена вроде как до 15000 рублей, долго ли они ходят?

LOL 15,000 RUB ($150) would buy you garbage
هل يزبط ان حوال النكل لا ليثيوم
Yes, different types of metal and battery chemistry.
man there is no need to 'discard your old voltage acquisition harness' when there are people on ebay willing to pay #40-50 $$ for it !!!

So you can go to a junk yard buy a used battery and pull the good modules out of it and replace your bad modules and it will be a lot cheaper
Junk yard batteries are a huge gamble.
