I checked the @t website. They have info Gen II, Gen III, and Gen IV, but nothing on Gen 1. Does anyone know of about the possibility of converting a Gen I (2002) Prius to Lithium? Thanks.
I assume they're relying on the Prius battery monitor too disconnect the battery if there's trouble. They probably built in top balancing resistors on each cell that activate at the right time. I think with so many cells in series unmonitored there could be trouble in many many years but who knows maybe they also put in BMS in each blade to disconnect the blade if anything goes out of spec.
Without seeing inside of each module (blade/plate as he called it), my guess is each module had its own internal wire fuses and bms inside. If 21700 cells were used, its norminal voltage would be 3.7v; so to make up the same voltage as the old pair of module NiMH; which is 14.2volt give or take=> there must be a series connection inside of each module consists of 4 cells 21700 in series. Given the capacity of the old one, which was around 6300mah, my guess is that those 4 cells in series are paring up with at least 2 more just like it in parallel. So without looking inside each blade, assuming 21700 cells were used (most likely are 18650s), the configuration is 3p(parallel)4s(series) with bms inside and maybe small 1-2amp wire fuses between each connection. And all of that is what is inside of only 1 blade. He used 14 blades i think (didnt count), the same amount of the old pairs and voltage (old one has 28 blades, which equates to 14 pairs and each pair is 14.2 volts). Because of this, the original bms from prius recognizes it as normal and charges the whole pack the sam as the old one. Of course, I can be a complete idiot that do not know any better and am wrong about everything. But that how i think why there is no visible bms(es) outside for the new pack because each blade will accept 14.2 volts in and the bms inside will balance charge the 4 cells of 21700 inside in series (times 2 or 3 in parallel).
The sound kept going in and out. I could see you talking but the sound didn’t come thru. After a while it came back for a while and then was lost again.

Hi Jack! How much the battery capacity?
Site says sold out. When will more be available?
You have to get on the email list to know when they are available. Be ready to buy and check emails everyday. As soon as it was available I purchased it. It was sold out the next day. You have to be fast
I checked the @t website. They have info Gen II, Gen III, and Gen IV, but nothing on Gen 1. Does anyone know of about the possibility of converting a Gen I (2002) Prius to Lithium?
Thanks.
ممكن شحنها الى الاردن واكون الوكيل لها وكم التكلفه ارجو الرد
Where is the bms?
Your sound was out hafe way through the vido ????
Where can we bye
The sound kept going in and out. I could see you talking but the sound didn’t come thru. After a while it came back for a while and then was lost again.
Buenas noches donde puedo comprar esas baterias , y como se llaman
I can't see the price on the website how much is the lithium pack
all the information can be found on our site projectlithium.com/products/prius-lithium-replacement-pack
has anyone made a 2170 cell pack?
But good vido thanks....
HE DIDN'T CHANGE OUT OR CLEAN THE CORRODED BUS BARS AND
WHY WOULD YOU REPLACE BATTERY WITH A FIRE HAZARD BATTERY?
He mentioned cleaning the bus bars with ammonia but did not show it in the video. My guess is he did immerse the bus bars.
@@rickchumsae7974 DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT I STILL SEE IT WHEN HE PUT IT BACK IN
Lithium-ion batteries, whether they are used in cars or electronic devices, can catch fire if they have been improperly manufactured or damaged, or if the software that operates the battery is not designed correctly.
@@Leontothymos168 YEAH WOULD YOU TRUST THIS GUY SELLING MADE IN CHINA BATTERIES FOR YOUR PRIUS?
WHAT ABOUT CLEANING THE BLOWER ALSO JUST AS IMPORTANT (NICE VIDEO OTHERWISE)
Can you charge this product? Be very nice
Desperately need one in Pakistan 🇵🇰
Hold on I have so many questions . 😮
Bunch of NO audio 10:49 - 12:36 then 15:03 - 20:39. (and more) Hopefully this isn't the installation video for ProjectLithium. A lot of $'s to spend on battery pack with missing audio. Sorta stinks.
You mean "downgrade" NIMH is proven reliable for the life of the car unlike Lithium
