    This video is a little different. Instead of a bunch of the boys stuck in a swamp, it is Riley and his wife on holidays in a Ural. Manitoulin Island is the largest freshwater island in the world. Basically a big rock. Some very interesting terrain and great people make it a very special place to visit. We head out to do a little exploring and end up finding an amazing trail that skirts the shore of lake Huron. We also get drafted into a parade!

    Right on Riley! Took my wife on a bit of an adventure yesterday up in the Gatineau's. GPS'D a dirt route for the Klx351 from Wakefield up to Gracefield and across to ND DE Laus. This time of year can have some surprises in store and let me tell you it's a good thing I had a 4x4 as we were treated to some spring mud and a road closure. Like you're wife she's a trooper and an adventure was had. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to the next 😉

    If you would like information about our winch mount bar let us know, it might come handy if you get stocked. With our mount bar you can move the winch from the front to the back of your bike super easy! You can also attach a bike rack on the back in case you want your mountain bikes with you. Nice video, beautiful landscaping. Look forward to see more!

    nice, I am a yooper and the camp we used on Shelter Bay looked much like this :) the rocks are 'drop stones' from old glaciers from a long time ago. I saw one Ural with sidecar some years ago. I think the rocks with grooves, etc, are also connected to glaciers, and you are driving on the massive Canadian shield. We did a trip around Lake Superior and found some nice amythest mines in the area north of Thunder Bay! We stayed at a nice B&B in TB....a great trip :)

    The theory you have about the way there seeming to take longer was pretty close to what some people have suggested. Your mind is attentive and alert taking in all the new sights and feelings, but on the way out it can relax a bit about the specifics so it feels much quicker. Theres also another theory that it relates to optimism on the way out for how long it will take and pessimism on the way back. A third theory is that it all relates to humans just being bad at perceptions of time.

      +Adject Testament Good comment. A lot depends on state of mind for sure. Once when we were super hung over we did a train and it took all morning. Went back the next year and we did the whole thing in 20 minutes. What I thought was miles and miles was really short. Obstacles that we stopped for and studied that first day were just rolled over at speed when we were "healthy".

    The dealer in Saskatoon let my brother and I try out a camo Ural. I really liked it and my brother hated it. At the end of the day we both bought klr's. I still think about the ride with my brother in the side car. I think the grandkids would love that machine.

    • @AwesomePlayers
      @AwesomePlayers  7 років тому

      Kids do love it. It really is a specific taste as far as motorcycles go. I remember lending my R1150GS to a friend who rode sport bikes. He came back with this look of horror on his face and stated it was the worst bike he had ever ridden! I've had a few KLRs and always enjoyed them. One of these years Kawasaki is going to have to put fuel injection on there.

    Great video. My wife and I are doing a 2 up ride on the 800GS in June and we will be traveling from Sudbury past Manitoulin Island on the way to the Michigan UP. Would a side trip onto the island be worthwhile? If so, any suggestions for places to go to while keeping in mind there will be 2 of us on the GS? We are doing a loop from Chicago through Ohip, Pa, NY, VT, NH, Maine and inot Nova Scotia then returning through Quebec, Montral Sudbury, UP of MI, North Woods of Wisconsin thenm back south to Chi town.

    • @AwesomePlayers
      @AwesomePlayers  8 років тому

      +John Ciribassi Maybe skip Sudbury and go through Manitoulin Island. Turn South at Espanola on to the island. Then head up to Meldrum Bay at the far end. Be sure to go see the lighthouse which is a nice ride on a really interesting road. Then either head back west and take the ferry off the island or get back on route and go north to Espanola and then Sudbury.

    • @drjdvm
      @drjdvm 8 років тому

      +Awesome Players So the lighthouse is Meldrum Bay? Also is the ferry you are talking about at South Baymouth and goes over to Tobermory? If so, we would likely just retrace our steps through Espanola since we will be going west towards the Sioux and the UP. BTW. I love your videos.

    • @AwesomePlayers
