look how green it is there. rain and motorcycle dont mix very well. but that rain makes it so beautiful. what a way to see America. it will be time to head south again. you're only a state away. one atate at a time.
Sometimes a good rain forces one to stop for a minute, take a deep breath and chill... a good rest is like a good recharge... I hope you are having a wonderful and blessed day!!
The struggle in your head ! You n Rich are blessed and those of us who can't go where your going are envious and live vicariously through your video's. Thank you and love your content. B Saams
Its a Wonderful Life. Glad we didn't miss it. At 70, after a long illness and seeming cure, I feel great again and am planning on getting my beloved 1984 Yamaha XV1000 out again. Never give up, the day after you do you will regret it. Incidentally, this lifestyle is making you both look 20 years younger than when you started. Perhaps it might work for me. .
Thanks a bunch. We agree never give up. Chris and I both feel better and much more physically fit then when we started. Keep us updated on the 84 XV I had a 83 Maxim 650.
Rich and Chris, hang in there, grey skies and rain will eventually give way to sunshine and dry roads! The rest was much needed and well-deserved. Take care, Nancy
I like your take on pigs in blankets. Slightly different here in Scotland. We are big into pigs in blankets at Christmas. Ours are sausages wrapped in strips of streaky bacon. Perhaps we should call ours pigs in pigs, just to avoid any confusion. Great honest video. God bless.
Still an interesting video, even though you were a bit down with the weather. Perhaps a short holiday away from the bikes and camping is in order? Take a break and go visit family and friends for a couple of weeks. Just a suggestion.
I love rainy days while motorcycling. My best friend Dave and I rode from Kentucky to Chile, S.A. We also made several trips to Central America and to Northern Michigan in January to watch m/c ice racing. Our greatest times were when weather and other things went wrong! Those are the events we remember most fondly!
Great riding. Rainy days are just another day, to get rest or to count all your other blessings. Allergy attacks. YES!!! In the Spring I sneeze sometimes 30-40 times in a row, maybe 3-4 times a day. Or off & on for 20-30 minutes. Plugged up, headache, full sinuses, blurry eyes. Wait a moment then go on some more. Pain-In-The-Butt!!!
Richard and Kris.....kudos to the both of you.....looks like you have the bugs worked out and know how to help each other out tearing down and loading up. Practice makes perfect and things seem to be going much smoother! Rubber side down....shiny side up.
Watching your videos/adventures NEVER gets old. Ive mentioned before that y'all are living the life probably 95% of us who ride dream about every day. Yes being on the road is not all unicorns and rainbows as you mentioned........but the memories and experiences good and bad are PRICELESS. this has been a very bad year for me riding wise. Only took one trip...subsequently was selling/buying a house and ran into some issues with that, prolonging the process, so your with your videos it feels as if im taking trips through/with y'all.... THANK YOU,....ride safe
We are from Wisconsin and absolutely love the U.P, especially anywhere near Lake Superior! Must be exciting each time to set out on a new adventure. We cannot wait to hit the road (17 months to go)!! We are so looking forward to having "on the road" problems as opposed to "sitting in a house" problems. 😀 Love following along on your adventures and problems... It will help us for when we hit the road! Thanks guys!!
Much as I love to ride a trip with no a finite length would wear me out. It's amazing to me your endurance and good humor even though you must at times be exhausted
Just a few hopefully helpful suggestions. I purchased an electric lunch box off Amazon which I use when traveling as it runs on 12v or 120v. I plug it in my solar generator (300 watt) and I have hot meals. Also I charge the solar gen as I ride instead of solar cells. I have a plug wired directly to the battery so it charges even when I stop. I also have a jump pack just in case I over do it. I know you guys know more about living on the road more than me but these hints may help if you have more cloudy woodsy spots
Ha! I just passed through Sault Ste Marie but on the Canadian Side about 3 weeks ago. And I got rained on too! Hoping to hit the south shore of Lake Superior next summer if the borders open up. We should swap notes if you want to visit the Canadian side. Lots of natural beauty (and some mechanical stuff for Richard too!). Hang in there guys, the little 'depression' in Chris' energy at the 15 min mark was palpable. I hope you know how much joy and inspiration you bring to so many of us. Be well. R
Thanks for the video. I grew up in lower Michigan and heard about all of those cities... but never had a chance to go that far north. Your videos are helping me connect some long lost dots.
You two are real troupers. I can only camp out in a tent for one or two nights per Summer. Three times in the past three years, I have reserved tent sites for two nights and gave up after one. I simply got too cold or too uncomfortable. Then again, I am 70 now so I have a lot less tolerance for discomfort.
We're a little late watching your video. After watching every Sunday night for months, we were motivated enough to get the Pop Up Camper out, go through it for maintenance issues, and then take off for four days. We camped out by a small lake surrounded by apple orchards in Central Washington State. Not everything went perfect, but most things did. We had a great time. It snowed here this morning. I'd like to see you hole up someplace for the winter, allow your bodies some time for recovery, and get some rest. Hope your thinking about that. Thanks for Sharing!
Beautiful video. I have been over that bridge on my motorcycle too and the concrete section was closed. I don't think my rear end has ever held on to the seat tighter than when that motorcycle was squirming and searching under me on those grates. Amazing view up there though so it was worth it
Hi guys. The slower pace and more melancholy vibe of this weeks video is just how I'm feeling. I was out riding last weekend and crashed while practicing on the dirt. Sadly, I broke my collarbone and will be off the bike for a couple of weeks. I'm living vicariously through these videos for the time being. Keep up the journey and teamwork. Cheers, Brad ATfromAZ
Don't cha know you don't need new tires until the center is smooooooth. That's how some folks think anyway. Them smoothies aren't so good in the rain though. :)
I really enjoy your videos.....especially Chris saying Munising! LoL The ride to the Soo is always wonderful. The Upper and Lower Tahquamenon Falls would have been a great stop along with Whitefish Point and Point Iroquois Lighthouse! We ride up to the UP at least once a summer. We have scooters (Vespa), the husband, daughter and myself usually ride together. We have been over the Mackinaw Bridge several time, but riding on the grate still makes me nervous! Thanks for sharing and always keep two wheels down!
Life on the road, has it’s moments. And strange as this may sound to you, but I still would like to try it…. Just three months or so… on my Harley. Living the dream… Ride safe, enjoy the journey… I for one live vicariously through your videos. Keep em’ comng!
Ahhh... Michigan. Lori and I just spent the weekend at Pontiac Lake Recreation Area. Rained every day (and night). And if I can help, it's pronounced "Mu-nah-sing." Long sound on the 'u', emphasis on the "Mu." All the best.
So I'm here in Michigan if you give yourselves three minutes the weather might change....love your videos enjoy your time here wish I could meet you .Shawn.
Keeping it real. Glad you guys got some rest. Darn Im sitting at home watching it rain and everyone is so ready for summer to end but I dont like the cold dark winter time. Ready for a warm sunny beach. 🤔
Well at least it wasn't snowing! Rain I'll take any day! Yes traveling on motorcycles along with pulling ba camper trailer can be exhausting! But I'll take it over really pulling around my toy hauler! I love traveling on my motorcycle and having my deluxe timeout motorcycle camper trailer!
Hi...!! Great to see both..!! Let me ask you something, do you think this kind of lífe its cheaper than before (house)...? Sorry about my english ... hello from Mexico
I enjoy your videos, great work. My wife and I just finished a trip from Mesa AZ, to Avenue of the Giants in CA. Great trip, we came back via the PCH, the leg between Leget CA and Fort Bragg was a little gnarly, and the PCH can be twisted and lots of gear changes. We were 2 up, not separate bikes. We ride a K1600gt. I am 67, I don't know how long I can still ride, I guess I will stop when it becomes a chore and not a opportunity. Stay upright and keep those video's coming
Just finished a ride on my Gold Wing a ding. Went from Sac through Nevada, Utah, on the eastern side down to Mexican Hat, hit all the parks, Arizona and back.🆒☮️🌵in one week.
Been watching a few of your videos, and wishing I and my wife could of done the same, and we disgusted it years ago it just didn't pan out,but love watching yous guys having a good time! Sorry to see you lay down ur Harley Davidson in Hancock Michigan it's 11 miles from where I live, but the Michigan Technology students that live around there are great for helping out yous guys in your time of need, kudos to them ! Just wish we could have met yous guys when ya came thru our neck of the Copper country! I didn't catch the whole video of that part either I stumbled upon it when you had to dump the motorcycle and then I fell asleep, because of covid I'm still lugging around the house! Well happy trails God bless yous guys!
Good video and learned some history glad the sun came out to help lift your spirits love the way you guys get to travel on the bikes that would be awesome but I am sure it would be very hard at times thumps up to you guys great channel and sending a big hug for the tough times take care
Love your guys videos! Researching motocamping for some upcoming 2025 trips with my wife. It would be an absolute dream to do what you 2 do and travel the country on motorcycles! We're actually from grand rapids Michigan and just did a trip to some of these same places in Michigan's upper peninsula in a campervan we've been building. Now we really want to do some motocamping trips on our bikes. Awesome channel and videos and info. Thanks!
Munising....Mew (like a kitty cat) -ni-sing! Lots of Michigan city names have their roots in native Indian language. Also, check out the Kitch-iti-kippi Spring off Hwy 2 near Indian Lake. Nice state park there too!
Haha I'm hearing you! It's not all rainbows and unicorns being out on the road! I've been out travelling just shy of 8 months now and there are days when s#&t just gets real. 🤣 I had days and days of wind out near the desert and just got blasted with sand in places sand should not go!!! My tent survived and my sanity just barely! But I am loving it and it was great to finally catch up with some of your vids. Happy travelling and thanks for keeping it real. 🙂
Hi guys just found your channel it's awesome not many people traveling this country on 2 wheels looks like you have an awesome setup please keep the videos coming i for one appreciate the effort you guys put into making them God bless and stay safe out there 🙋♂️ 🇬🇧
You two are taking almost the same trek me and my late wife took for her final bucket list travel through there. Don’t miss root beer falls. Or lakenenland.
Chris and Rich, kudos to you both for telling it like it can be. I am not a big fan of riding yet camping in the rain. I have only camped in a tent. We have opted for cabins or motels when the weather is looking ominous. It is when you set up and the sky opens up and doesn’t stop. Depresses the hell out of me. You should take a holiday and take a break for a couple of weeks. Go visit family and friends. You deserve it. Keep up the great content and stay safe. 👍😊
Just for future reference, in Michigan as long as you are at least 1 mile or more from a state park campground you can camp anywhere on state ground. Just need to put up a camp tag at your site. I have boondock camped like this a lot in Michigan! Never with out a site in Michigan!
I get hotel rooms when it is scheduled to rain for a day or 2. Keeps my sanity and I can relax, regroup, and charge my stuff. As long as the room is less than $130 total a day that is. Use to be $100, but those days are over for 99% of the places I find. LOL
@@southernrebel - that campground is not free. It’s not expensive either. I’ve stayed there before , but that was around 7 years ago, so I can’t tell you exactly how much is that campground. But it was nice and clean !
The border is open for you guys… us Canadians just can’t go south lol love your videos and I’m hoping to be able to go south to enjoy your amazing scenery.
your best video!!!!!!!!!! you showed some real life camping and traveling on a motorcycle!!!!!!! Richard also check tire wear bars!!!! Pulling a trailer shortens rear tire life 25 to 30 percent while pulling a trailer. shortens rear brake pads about the same.
Found your videos a week ago and I really enjoy them. I ride an ‘05 Suzuki Blvd. if you ever decide to ride through southern Oregon and the town of Lakeview along highway 395, the coffee is on me if you like.
Rich, I don't what tire you use on the back of your Harley, but I know that while pulling your trailer, you must eat rear tires pretty quickly. I've been riding for 42 years, and back when I was a "more spirited rider", I wore rear tires pretty quickly. Not talking about smoky burn-outs, but I traveled on my bike, and often was pushing it pretty hard, so six to eight thousands miles on a rear was normal. However I started using the Metzeler Marathon ME888 rear tire, and literally my tire mileage doubled. In fact on my last Yamaha FJ1200 that I had, I could get over 18,000 miles on a rear tire.
well the rain is runing water lol i love watching ur adventures we have been doing one in scotland so we know about bad weather lol we doing a burgman 400 tour see if it kills the bike or not lol
Did you guys ride h 58 Munising to Grand Marais one of the best roads up there beautiful motorcycle road I hope you guys did I hope you enjoyed da UP I'm up there all the time I absolutely love it
When you are in your 80s you won't regret a thing.
look how green it is there. rain and motorcycle dont mix very well. but that rain makes it so beautiful. what a way to see America. it will be time to head south again. you're only a state away. one atate at a time.
Brilliant. So true. one state at a time.
Pure Michigan! Where grey skies dominate 😤
Yes, I would imagine winter can be pretty grey there.
Sometimes a good rain forces one to stop for a minute, take a deep breath and chill... a good rest is like a good recharge... I hope you are having a wonderful and blessed day!!
Thanks Robert. Cheers

Glad you enjoyed it
Rich and Chris, hang in there, grey skies and rain will eventually give way to sunshine and dry roads! The rest was much needed and well-deserved. Take care, Nancy
Its about time to pack up and head to Arizona for the sun and warmth for the winter.

Great video as usual. I can understand how it can get to you sometimes. But as they say this to shall pass. stay safe.
Thanks, you too!
Great riding. Rainy days are just another day, to get rest or to count all your other blessings.

Man i had a bad attack that day. it was weird on a rainy day. what was blooming 🤔🤔

I love crunch in my food, dogs looked really good. :)
Remember...the darker the storm the brighter the rainbow. My thoughts are with you. Be safe and Good Bless.
Thanks, Ted! Love those rainbows.
You’re not used to just being still. You are used to moving, doing, going. Plus rain like that just sucks! 😁
yes we didn't have the best of days at that time
I think you guys are terrific!!!
Thanks, David!! Appreciate that.

Even if they were just hogs in a blanket...another outstanding cooking segment. And That rain is a blessing from god himself.
Excellent!!...

Kris, thanks for spending some time with us.

I can relate to the allergy attack ridding across the plains of Minnesota, and South Dakota Fighting the wind and hay fever.
Rough couple of days.

Thank you! Will do!
Beautiful video. I have been over that bridge on my motorcycle too and the concrete section was closed. I don't think my rear end has ever held on to the seat tighter than when that motorcycle was squirming and searching under me on those grates. Amazing view up there though so it was worth it
I really enjoyed this video installment, but I enjoy all of your adventures. Stay safe and keep on riding!
Thanks, will do!

Thanks Brad. We sure hope you heal quickly
Gotta love mich. I live in southern part . I've been all over the state. Wish i knew you were here , loved to have met both of you.
Rainy days are good for catching up on sleep and relaxation. Plenty of things to be grateful for that remind us of are blessings.
Love your optimism keep plodding on 🙏
Wearing your shirt watching this 😁
Sweet!! Thanks so much for ordering - hope you love it.
Hope you enjoyed Michigan. The upper is so cool a different world up there. I'm from Marine City Michigan.
Safe travels
Yes we loved it up there. plan on going back for sure.
Don't cha know you don't need new tires until the center is smooooooth. That's how some folks think anyway. Them smoothies aren't so good in the rain though. :)
Smooth? No, wait for the canvas to show through.
We used to live in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Awesome video.
You can always camp like Scooter Tramp Scotty; just find an opening through a wooded area…..get out of Michigan!!
You guys are hard core, great videos!!

Pigs in a blanket looked great. Don't be so hard on yourselves, breath, your doing great.
So I'm here in Michigan if you give yourselves three minutes the weather might change....love your videos enjoy your time here wish I could meet you .Shawn.
So true, Shawn! Of all the states we've traveled thru so far, Michigan truly lives up to that saying.
Keeping it real. Glad you guys got some rest. Darn Im sitting at home watching it rain and everyone is so ready for summer to end but I dont like the cold dark winter time. Ready for a warm sunny beach. 🤔
Us too!
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down
Take break.
true that.
I enjoyed this video. Two of My grandc
Grandchildren live in Marquette. They have camped all up and down UP. We drove up from south GA, once! So I get how you feel.
Love our trees and oxygen

it's pronounced Mew-ni-sing...Have fun in Michigan...I lived there until I was 35.. Moved to Florida here in April 1988..
You should have road H 58 while in the upper peninsula.. arguably the best ride in the state
I‘m glad that I‘m not the only one who has problems with the english language, but muninunisinsing is an easy word😂😂😂
Congrats on your nomination. See, all that clean living is paying off.

Going out with my aspen classic for few days looking forward to it but now calling for rain couple days🥲
That border looks a hell of a lot better than the other one. #Let's Go Brandon
Hey Chris, trees have solar panels too ya know...
Yes - that's next on the list - replaces the brakes on the Harley.
Man wish I would have known you guys were going to get on the ferry in muskegon. I live 25 miles north of there in Montague
Chris was raised in Muskegon. we did see her brother while there.
yep, I'd do pigs in blanket in oz, you guys are cool!
Found your videos a week ago and I really enjoy them. I ride an ‘05 Suzuki Blvd. if you ever decide to ride through southern Oregon and the town of Lakeview along highway 395, the coffee is on me if you like.
Cool, thanks!
Been there done that with an identical trailer. Fun for a while but that's it. You'll know when it's time . . . .
You are spot on, Mr C!! Just like we knew when it was time to get out of the tent last year.
They look yummy. Love Croissants
